Keimei looked around at the crowd in the center plaza of the Starting Town. "Why was I just taken here...?" She asked aloud. She'd only been playing for a couple hours, and had decided to get into the combat system before finding anyone to team up with. She looked around the crowd, noticing a lot of other people were also teleporting there. Suddenly, the sky above her turned blood red. A cloaked figure appeared over the square, and hovered there.

 

"Hello everyone, and welcome to SAO." A voice boomed over the crowd. "You're likely wondering who I am... My true identity will remain secret. However, I will tell you this; I have hacked into SAO. Some of you may have noticed that there isn't a log-out button... That's because I've removed the option to log out. I've trapped you all in the game..." He paused, as the crowd was dead silent. He eventually continued. "Why have I done this? Simple. I've wanted a world of my liking. In this world, I've surpassed even the game's creator, Kayaba Akihiko. Here, I control you all... Unless, of course, you can clear all 100 floors. However, that's impossible..." He cackled. "Also, to warn you... If you die in the world of SAO, the NerveGear will fry your brain in the real world, killing you in both. If anyone attempts to remove your NerveGear, you will also die. Now then, before I leave, I have a gift for you..." Suddenly, a mirror appeared in Keimei's inventory. She used it, out of curiosity. There was a sudden flash of light, and she shut her eyes...

 

When she opened her eyes, she felt different. She looked into the mirror... That's... my real face in the mirror... She looked in horror. Aside from her hair color, which was the same shade of red that she'd made it in-game, she looked exactly like she did in real life.

 

"Now then... With this, I must leave. Good luck in Aincrad... You'll need it." A maniacal laughter echoed along the buildings, as the figure disappeared.

 

After the echoes, there was silence. After what felt like ages, people began rioting. "We're doomed!" "I can't be trapped in the game, I've got a meeting in an hour!" "That had to all be some sick joke!" Keimei looked around in confusion. She didn't know what to do. She looked around frantically.

 

I have to get out... The only way to do that is to fight, and I'll need partners... Man, I really wish my friends had been able to get the game so I wouldn't be alone in this. She dashed through town, weaving her way through the crowd and into the streets. She tried to look around for someone, anyone who was also rushing to go fight.

Keimei prepared the Sword Skill. "Glad you understand, Abisk." She ran towards a group of the plants, and used the Sword Skill on them to wipe out quite a few. However, a couple attacked her, bringing her HP down a bit. "Ugh..." She groaned, looking back to Abisk, who seemed to be doing okay. She slashed at the feet of two more of the plants, managing to kill those.

 

"Lock!" Kei shouted, noticing her teammate running in to help her and Abisk. She was glad to know that he was safe, too. She assumed that Vash wasn't too far, either.

Abisk did the Sword Skill, and hoping to negate the waiting period, he tried chaining the skills together, instead it just glitched his Sword Skills and put a cooldown on the next skill he planned on using, and he took a few hits to-boot. His HP in the yellow, he watched as Kei took some hits, he got back up and focused on taking out more of the enemies, slashing, hacking, with Kei helping him, the numbers went down "17... 16.... 15..." He was keeping count of the ones left-over still.

"Are you kidding? We're all in this together. Its a matter of life and death, i'm not going to let any of you die." He unsheated his sword. 

 

(Uh, Im right next to Vash. )

 

"Hey Kei!" Then he muttered under his breath, "thanks for not acknowledging me." "So, what's going on, why are you and Abisk on the run? Did you find a huge enemy that you guys can't beat or something?" He noticed the Nampants behind them. "Crap. Uh, anything i should know about this things before i rush in and kill them?"

(We're kinda encircled in them...)

Halfway to her destination, Aether heard the sounds of battle. Speeding up, she slipped in and out of trees. Twenty three Nampants had surrounded a small group of players, and two already were hurt. That wasn't right. No more then five should have shown up.

Things got changed from the Beta.

 

Circling to the edge, Aether waited. Maybe they would be ok. Maybe not.

Staying out of sight, she observed the fight. She had a few health potions ready; might as well play medic if people were too close to death.

Black reached out the place where the group was, however, as expected, two of them (Abisk and Kei) were surrounded. He ran closer avoiding the monster´s atention. Holding the potion in hand he shouted at the two: "Hey you! When I say, You two move down!!" Then he began to aim the bottle to the big monster around. 

"Are you kidding? We're all in this together. Its a matter of life and death, i'm not going to let any of you die." He unsheated his sword. 

 

(Uh, Im right next to Vash. )

 

"Hey Kei!" Then he muttered under his breath, "thanks for not acknowledging me." "So, what's going on, why are you and Abisk on the run? "Vash! These guys are tough, but similar to the plants we fought earlier. Their feet are their weak points, so target those. Watch out for their attacks, too." She slashed at one that charged at her, killing it. "Thanks for the help!" She shouted, stabbing the feet of another.

Kei heard Black's warning, and nodded. "Got it!" She let him know that she'd heard him, and prepared to move.

"Got it!" Abisk yelled, charging up a sword-skill that did a strait-forward stab, waiting for the moment he needed to move.

 

He then noticed that all the enemies were beginning to surround all of them. He quickly got into offensive position and stabbed twice at one of the enemies feet and finished by charging up his sword and surging through 2 of them, finishing them off. He then quickly got into defensive position.

(...Abisk and Kei are the ones surrounded, Abisk accidentally triggered the effect of the red-fruited enemy and now they're being swarmed.)

"All right, we've got team mates to protect!" Lock shouted, and hit one of the monsters in between the eyes, and destroyed it with another strike. He then took out another with his blue sword skill, and a third with his green. "Switch!" he shouted, panting from using so much energy.

Vash switched back in, and started with jumping into the air and slammed his sword into 2 more of the enemies, killing them. He then got hit 3 times by the other enemies and he yelled, "SWITCH!" He then got into defensive position and started using the battle heal skill.

Aether focused on Absik. One of the best of the Betas, he was working well with his group. Hmph. Since the Nampants were busy focusing on the others, she took the opportunity.

Stepping out, she quickly activated blue Sword Skills and struck hard and fast. Two Nampants turned but swiftly fell.

Two hundred and fifty gil. Damn. Needed three hundred.

Retreating back into the shadows of the forest, she felt fatigue creep in. Shaking her head, Aether edged around and swiftly struck a third until it fell.

 

With her three hundred and twenty five more gil, Aether sheathed her blades and began to walk backwards, letting them do everything else.

Too bad they got there first. The better drops would have been snatched up by now. Ah well.

She brushed some hair from her eyes. She wondered if she'd live long enough for that uniform on the tenth floor.

"Got it!" Abisk yelled, charging up a sword-skill that did a strait-forward stab, waiting for the moment he needed to move.

Kei also charged her Sword Skill in preparation. Looks like we're getting out of this mess after all... It looked like she didn't have to prepare for death, after all.

"Now!!!" "Now Move!!" Black said as he pulled out his sword, just in case.

"Hey, if you're still there, are you able to come out?" She called out to whoever it was who she'd notice take down a couple Nampants. She realized it could have been a bad idea, and that it could have been someone dangerous like a PK. Still, she felt like she should thank whoever it was for helping them fight off some of the enemies.

All of a sudden the rest of the enemies were destroyed by a girl wearing a brown coat that covered her face "What are all of you doing here? it's dangerous to be here at night" said Elyna as she then removed her hood revealing her face "W-Wait a sec....are you Abisk?" said Elyna as she starred at him & everyone could now see she has a orange cursor.

Stopping her movement, she stepped into the moonlight, then leaned against a tree, arms crossed.

"Not that easy to go all out when your life hangs in the balance, is it...Abisk?"

He announced to the Orange Player who appeared from no-where, as well as somehow knew his name. He then also noticed a woman who also knew his name, she already had very good equipment. "I know you, Aether, top-ranked Beta Tester, a fast mover." he looked at Aether with one eye, the other he kept trained on Elyna. "No, it's much easier, in fact. I just had to sell my better sword to pay for some needed things." He spat to her. 

 

The girl seemed to answer Keimei's question, and mentioned Abisk. "Wait, you know Abisk?" She looked between the two. She must be another beta tester... She thought, then turned back to the girl. "Either way, thanks for helping us. I'm Keimei, by the way!" She greeted the girl.

"She's not a PKer, at least not yet." He was talking about Elyna. "Her cursor would be red. But even so, she may be here to steal from us." He whispered to Kei. "I find it suspicious that we find three players in the forest at this time, two of which are Beta Testers, one of which is a Yellow Player." He hoped to keep them talking. His In-Battle wasn't great yet, but it did the job needed. His HP was back to half by now, and he intended to keep talking. "If you're planning to raid us, we have nothing of value on us. I had to sell my DLC armor for rooms at the local inn, and we're moving rather slowly." he told the three, whispering back to Kei, he told her "Prepare to fight again if we need to. They may be hostile."

"She must be. Already has an orange cursor and a ten thousand gil bounty. No clue how someone pulled that off, but they did." Aether pushed off from the tree and stepped forward.

"Aether. Like Absik, I too beta'd this game." The girl listened to Absik. "If you say so." She frowned. "And now I'm leaving. Goodnight."

 

Aether abruptly turned away and began to leave...but kept an eye on them the entire time.

Orange cursor was...problematic.

"A PK....You could choose to believe I am or not, how ever I was watching you from the moment you entered this forest thinking you'd need help. But I guess you lot were quite strong to destroy so many of those creatures...So in that case, I'm challenging you lot to a none killing battle to see if you are what I'm looking for" said Elyna as she moved into a battle position with her hand just over her sword "My name is Elyna & I'm a former beta tester" said Elyna.

Lock scratched his head, a little confused. What was with all of these players encountering them all of a sudden? "Hey Vash, you understand what's going on?" He asked. He would have asked Abisk, but he was busy talking to the newcomers.

Robin woke up early in the morning and headed off for the next town, he defeated all the base enemies on the way, grinding his way to the next town. He walked into the town surprised by the lack of people. "wow guess I'm actually in front of most" Robin used his gil to upgrade his weapons and then headed past the town and began grinding again. He was surprised, there were only about 20 people past the second town "I guess most of them are beta's" Robin was happy with himself that he'd kept up. "It's gonna be a long day! I've gotta keep up with these guys" His speed stat was very high but most of his other stats were sub par. He was still able to dodge most attacks but it still took him too long to defeat enemies because of his low attack stat, he decided to focus on getting his attack up before anything else. "looks like I'm gonna be solo for a while" Robin sighed.

[i can´t believe the potion worked so well ... Guess is my lucky day] Black thought for a moment, when Aether left. Of course Abisk had reasons to not trust him at all, but as they were together into this... he pulled out two bottles and gave them to Kei and Abisk. "This will work out very well" He said as giving the bottles.

"It is kind of suspicious..." Kei whispered back. "Still, I don't know that I'm necessarily suspicious of Aether. After all, she did help us out in that fight. If she was really out to get us, she would have just let the monsters kill us right there." Kei looked at her health after Abisk's warning. It was red... She hadn't been paying attention to it since the whole incident. "I'm prepared, but my health's a little low." She downed a potion, hoping that the orange player would think that she did it just to recover from the fight.

 

"She must be. Already has an orange cursor and a ten thousand gil bounty. No clue how someone pulled that off, but they did." Aether pushed off from the tree and stepped forward.

"Life is precious. Save who you can; the respawn option was removed."

She continued walking.
