do i suck at video games? (sry again you the prob)

Posted

if i am playing a game and i see an easy mode option, i will pick it. i even picked very easy mode for persona 4 (respawns you when you die making it as if you never died) and i really should have done only easy. i wish i could just deal with challange and grow to like it. i can see why people like it but for some reason i just cant. i guess i just suck at video games. every time i try something that has an easy mode on normal mode, i rage quit around 3/4 of the game. do i just suck at video games? ive been playing them scince the age of like 8.

I play every game ever on easy too, and 99% of the time I don't even finish. Sometimes games are just hard, and some people aren't natural-born gamers. That doesn't mean you're bad at all, but it just might not come as easily to you as it does to some people. I get killed every 20 seconds in CoD multiplayer, while my brother could probably play for hours without ever getting killed. The point is to have fun and enjoy the game. It doesn't matter whether you're "good" at it or not.

Not every gamer is going to be as challenging and daring to go for the harder modes. I even go for easy or normal modes on games half of the time but that's just me. Rage quitting is also normal. Just walk away from that particular game for a while and try again. I'm pretty sure you're not that bad to the point of not getting past the tutorials so you're fine.

Well, a lot of people suck at video games. Just look at me! I suck at BlazBlue(I don't even have a clue as to how to block ._.), Smash Bros., most Mario games, Sonic, etc.. I mean, I'm good at some games, but most...no. So lemme just say, that there IS a game for you out there. A game that you can truly be good at!

Persona 4 is a hardcore game. I played it in normal mode, but it was really hard. Don't mistjudge yourself! The japanese RPGs usually very hard even in easy mode. Just training, and be patient, and later you can play withouth death.

When I was like, ah, I dunno, 6-11, I always picked the easy difficulties on games, sometimes normal if I felt like living dangerous. I felt that I should just enjoy the game for what it is. Shortly after I turned 12, and got Resident Evil 4, I tried it on Professional mode and ended up having a lot more fun than I did on the easier difficulties. After which I started playing everything on the harder difficulties, in fact, for pretty much everything now, my main default difficulty is Hard, unless there's a harder difficulty that's possible to do without New Game+. I did Persona 4 on Expert mode on my first playthrough and had no regrets whatsoever. I feel to enjoy games is to bring the challenge out of them. If you don't, you'll be playing the same game over and over again and you'll breeze right through it on the easier difficulties. Why not spice things up a little? Dante Must Die, Proud, Veteran, Survivor, all those fun difficulties. Remixed enemy waves and being forced to think of different tactics should make the game more interesting on a second playthrough. Except I like thinking of intricate tactics on a first playthrough, mostly. Unlockable difficulties and NG+ required difficulties make it even more fun for me.So only go for harder difficulties if you feel you can handle it. Try Persona 4 on Expert or whatever the difficulty above normal is since you're playing Golden, and see how it goes.

sounds fun! but ill work my way up the scale. i'l do cave story normal first.

Depending on the game I always choose the hardest mode and only choose standard if it's a game I know is meant to be difficult and I've never played it before and if the trophies don't skank.

I'm the same in a somewhat similar way. I never go for a mode beyond Normal. Usually I just pick normal if it's similar to a game i've played before (such as being in the same series, or just another basic fps). If not I go for easy first. But If I go beyond normal for any game I usually die a lot and it ruins the fun.

I usually choose medium or normal, except in Fire Emblem, but it honestly depends. I know I beat Sonic Adventure 2 when I was 5 or 6, but then Mario was REALLY hard for me.

Single Player games/modes let you change the difficulty for a reason, everyone is different. It doesn't even have to be skill related. I have several friends that are much better at games than I am yet they sometimes pick the easy option. Why? Because they'd much rather have things easy-going and relaxing. They have plenty of other games to give them a challenge.

I always play on the hardest difficulty available, not because I am good, but because I like challenges in my games. I get a sense of accomplishment finally beating that impossible level on a harder setting. Also, it's nice getting the little treat a lot of games provide if you beat it on the hardest setting.

There's nothing to be ashamed of. If you suck you suck, if you just want to take it easy that's fine too. If I avoided games Im bad at, I'd probably not play a lot of games.

That's what video games are about, challenging yourself. Jezz if i were you i pick the hard mode ,some people like a challenge and i'm one of them no matter how many times i lose in the end i was still able to beat the game and you will feel good about yourself. So try it its more fun.
