Posted January 9, 201411 yr So everybody knows that Shadow the Hedgehog (the game) along with Sonic 06 are deemed terrible Sonic games throught the Sonic series. Well between the two, which game do you think is the worst Sonic game? Shadow the Hedgehog or Sonic 06?
January 10, 201411 yr Well, as much of a disappointment Sonic 2006 was, at least it still resembled a Sonic game, and I have found it IS possible to actually enjoy it, to a certain extent. However, Shadow the Hedgehog is probably the least Sonic-y of the franchise (if you exclude Sonic Chronicles, but that game was fun). The third-person shooter elements, combined with the dark elements and needless elementary school level cursing, make this game the most distant from the Sonic formula. It is so unlike the other games in the series that if not for the fact that each level is one long stage with automated sections like skydiving, shuttle-loops, and corkscrews that can be run through at moderate speeds, there would be nothing else to relate this game to any other game in the franchise, save for the story, the characters, and references to other games you wish you were playing instead. I get that it's supposed to focus on Shadow and that the tone and plot of the game is supposed to be dark, but that doesn't make it enjoyable, it just feels cold, empty, and at times unpleasant. Not to mention the almost infinite amount of hours it would take to approach the five different endings in every path possible in order to unlock the final challenge, which is ironically to play through every stage AGAIN FOR THE BILLIONTH TIME only at the highest difficulty, is not worth the effort, unless you are REALLY into this game. I don't necessarily "hate" the game, it's just another chapter in the Sonic timeline and the story is pretty compelling, I do find this to be the most unpleasant of the Sonic games. Sonic 2006 never got to be what it promised to be, and Lost World was a bit of a disappointment, but Shadow the Hedgehog was the least like any of the other games in the franchise, past or present. As strange of an experience as it was though, I hope this doesn't discourage SEGA from exploring their other characters by giving them spin-offs as well. I'd personally would like to see games for both Silver and Blaze...heck, even an Amy game would be interesting! They need to go back to exploring how different characters work and play, since they clearly don't care about keeping Sonic in a gameplay style that works for him anymore.
January 10, 201411 yr Sonic is part of the game in a big way, just like the other characters are , or they wouldn't be playable If every other character is a big part,then all their roles are just as equally as big,one not being better then the other,if thats the case,then the main focus isnt on just Sonic.So as I said before,if the main focus isnt on Sonic,then its not a Sonic game.
January 10, 201411 yr So when you guys say all of them do you mean the 2 games that you played? I've played quite a few Sonic games, and to be honest, none of them would get anything better than a "decent" from me. I didn't enjoy them much, especially the 3D ones.

January 14, 201411 yr Sonic '06 The worst one is the one he falls in love with a stupid human. Also, the new gaems of him are bad, expcet for the Sonic Heroes and the old ones. I LOVE SONIC HEROES
