According to this review of the android version of FFVI,this version has DRM which means you can't play offline

This is stated in  the 3:28 mark of the video

If this is true....that would be absolutely lame

It's like the time giant; it is not satisfied with the present, so it spreads its seeds of corruption to our cherished past as well.

Surely, there are dark times ahead. Or behind. Whatever.

Biggest understatement of my firetrucking life. This would be ATROCIOUSLY horrible, and wouldn't even make sense from a 'make tons of money' standpoint.

I know

I would've said a much horrible thing about it but I realized there are better versions out there like the GBA version and the virtual console port

So it's Square's loss this time

All of Square Enix's iOS, Android and Windows Phone games require you to be online. It's only to protect against privacy. Internet connections are normal for smartphones these days.

What protection??It's SINGLE PLAYER GAME!!It has no multiplayer ever since it's first release on SNES and in all of it's other ports

Just like what happened with Sims 3,having an online requirement for a single player game is bullshit

I said it's for privacy. It's to prevent people from illegally downloading it. When you start it up it checks your license.

Unfortunately Sora96 is right. People have the power to illegally download paid apps in Android, iOS, and Windows, so in order to prevent something like that, the authors of the game place DRM in the app to prevent Piracy. Yes, even single player games, that way, they won't lose more money.

Now, we get internet everywhere nowadays, and as long as you have mobile network as well, DRM is small hole to be jumped over.

I think you mean piracy, not privacy.

Anyway, this destroys my interest in these ports. I only have internet on my phone half the time (when I'm at home, where I have far superior platforms that I could play FF games on).

Such as? The only platforms superior to them are PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PS3, 360 and PS Vita.

This game looks like sheit with the new graphics

I think by far superior platforms he meant ones with buttons and a tv, not great graphics
