Anime, An Incredible And Amazing Thing!

Featured Replies

Fool. Anime is just the style. It's not responsible for most of those qualities you listed.

How is anime a style? There are countless styles of manga. Anime came from manga, I prefer manga only because I prefer reading over watching and that is the core of the art.

Manga/Anime is my life, you name it: One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fairy Tail, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Beelzebub, etc, I treasure them all deeply, for without Manga/Anime, I wouldn't even be here right now :].

I agree. I watched over I started fairy tail 10 days ago but im at episode 137. I just finished Black Cat, Mirai Nikki and Guilty Crown last month. Right now I JUST started Oreimo.

I've loved anime for most of my life. Although when I was younger I didn't know it because I considered them cartooooons :P I started out with Pokemon and Digimon at a pretty young age, somewhere under 8 years old. Then I got into Yu-Gi-Oh, DBZ, and Yu Yu Hakusho(Which is my all time favorite anime btw) in the next few years. Then Avatar: The last Airbender(yes, not anime, but very similar style) when I was in middle school, and Naruto, Death Note, Bleach, Bakuman, and Soul Eater when I was in High school. Then after high school I got into Durarara!!, One Piece, Full Metal Alchemist, and The Legend of Korra(yes, also not anime, but again very similar style). Then in late high school and on through adulthood I started to get into Manga like D. Gray Man, Fairy Tale, O-Parts Hunter(666 Satan), and Psyren. I have collected some of these manga and anime over the years.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: All three season DVDS and 2 of The Promise comics.

Bakuman: 12 volumes of the manga

Bleach: 33 volumes of the manga and 5 season DVDs

Death Note: Both season DVDs, 12 volumes of the manga, and the special 13th volume that has a multitude of info about the series

D. Gray Man: 9 volumes of the manga

Dragonball: 3 season DVDs, Volumes 1-5 of the manga, and Volumes 13-15 of the manga

Durarara!!: 3 volumes of the manga and all 3 series DVDs

Fairy Tale: The 1st volume of the manga

Full Metal Alchemist: 4 volumes of the manga

Naruto: 62 volumes of the manga, 2 special character books, and every season DVD until Sasuke defects from Konoha

One Piece: 8 volumes of the manga

O-Parts Hunter(666 Satan): 4 volumes of the manga

Psyren: 5 volumes of the manga

Soul Eater: 9 volumes of Soul Eater and the 1st part of the 1st season DVD

Yu Yu Hakusho: 5 volumes of Yu Yu Hakusho, all 4 season DVDs, and the Yu Yu Hakusho 30 minute OVA DVD

Fool. That's not even a good enough argument to respond to.

Manga is a media not an "art style" that is why there are styles within it. So one cannot say anime is an "art-style" one that is false because most anime had a starting manga, and those are done in a style unique to each writer.

From a factual point of view, Anime are just Japanese animations. There's nothing particularly special about them, in my opinion.
