Throughout the tumultuous history of TV and movies, there has been one constant rule. Characters should never talk about taking “one last mission.” Variations on this law include one last score, one last job, or even one last night out with the guys or girls. It’s all bad news.

 

Included in the International version (released in 2004) of FINAL FANTASY X-2 was a little something called "FINAL FANTASY X-2: Last Mission" and of course it's included in FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster. 

 

It wouldn't surprise me if Square Enix had considered or even planned FINAL FANTASY X-3 ten years ago.

 

What's the bad news you might ask? Well how's Square Enix talking about sex, Tidus dying and Sin returning? 

 

I rest my case. Although I am looking forward to an English version of FINAL FANTASY X-2.5 and FINAL FANTASY X-3.

Sure, they could have done it a long time ago, but if you ask me, any company can make one more of a series at any time. Just look at how Pixar waited ten years after Toy Story 2 to make Toy Story 3, kids who had been born around the times of those movies had already grown up by the time of the third film. So it is possible that Square could make a X-3, because any company can make another story in a series at any given time.

Oh, I don't think so. 10 years ago, they still seemed to have a tentative grasp on reality, and weren't this close to the brink of insanity.
