Posted March 4, 201411 yr Nintendo can't seriously put out a console in like 2020 and have it only 272p or 480p. Trying 3D is an acceptable reason for the low resolution of the 3DS, but there's no excuses for their next one.
March 4, 201411 yr Maybe this will be HD http://www.vg247.com/2014/01/21/nintendo-is-working-on-a-new-console-and-handheld-called-fusion-ds-and-fusion-terminal-massive-rumor/ It's all just speculating though; its certaintly possible, my ps vita looks similar to the graphics of my xbox 360. Im pretty sure its at least near HD. But i'd have no idea.

March 4, 201411 yr Author Actually, the ps vita is HD for the size of the screen I think it has a high ppi for the screen size. 540p isn't HD. 576p isn't even HD sadly.
March 4, 201411 yr 540p isn't HD. 576p isn't even HD sadly. The Vita is technically qHD if we really want to nitpick.
March 4, 201411 yr Easy does it, Nintendo just made their first HD console, you honestly expect them to make an HD handheld? I'll believe it when I see it.

March 6, 201411 yr You are assuming their next handheld won't be out until 2020. Though there is a chance of that.Game Boy 1989Game Boy Color 1998Game Boy Advanced 2001Nintendo DS 2004Nintendo 3DS 2011So, 9 years, 3 years, 3 years, 7 years. Since 3 years is out of the question, I am guessing it will either be 7, 9, or 11 years from the release of the 3DS.And all of those are give or take 2 years from 2020, so I guess you are right.Though I would have to agree, if we continue at our current pace, it probably would be disheartening to see a device without an HD display.Probably ALL smartphones by then will have HD screens, maybe the only ones without HD screens will have replaced the old pay as you go flip phones. I personally feel 480P is plenty for a handheld, pfft I am still okay with watching 480P videos on computer monitors and TV screens. But at the same time I would feel cheated if it disregarded the standards of all other handheld devices of the time.
