Kingdom Hearts: Fade into Light (Roleplay Thread)

Radiant Garden

Keyblade Academy

Indy made his way through the academy halls, glancing around at the rooms he passed by. I was told to meet with a teacher in the Gummi hangar... They said that there would be other students, too. What's so urgent that they'd call a few of us there? Is there something going on in other worlds...? Maybe they even have a mission for us... I've always wanted the opportunity to leave Radiant Garden, anyway... He thought to himself as he moved along, pondering what it is that he was ordered to meet there for.

He eventually reached the room, noticing that it was empty. "Hm... Well, I did try to get here early, anyway." He muttered, leaning against a wall. He appeared calm, but his mind was racing. Will I get to visit other worlds? Who else will I be with? Will I have a chance to see Allitt again...? He drifted into deep thought, not taking notice of his surroundings...

(And yes, the other students all received the orders, too.)

Zale grinned as two Assassin Nobodies launched themselves at him.

"Finally, something interesting." He thought.

In an instant, he had his Keyblade and his new gunblade, in blade mode, out. He jumped up, spinning through the air like a top, with both blades extended. He met the Assassins midair, where there was a momentary sound of metal on metal before the Nobodies were sliced through. Zale landed with debris of fading nobodies falling around him.

As he stood up, he saw another Assassin, but it seemed to be heading for civilians.

[Nexus Shift]

Annistha twirled both Keyblade and Gunblade, transforming the latter into gun mode. She pointed both weapons at the Assassin, unleashing a volley of bullets and Ruin spells. The Nobody was hammered by the projectiles and fell.

"Using people's bodies rather then doing your own dirty work?" Annistha shouted, angrily.

She jumped up on a train car and aimed both her weapons at the figure behind all this.

"Sounds pretty villainous to me."

In a swirl of pink sparkles and rainbows, Rei's Keyblade flashed to existance. She launched herself at the nearest Nobody, and cut it down with a few slashes. Turning and seeing the chaos, she was about to launch to Ghost's aide when about seven assassins surrounded her. That only made her smirk as she backflipped, unleashing Pearl. The attack knocked them back, allowing for Rei to go straight in and take two out. But the problem was moreso the fact they were hiding under the floor soon enough, and block - Pearlm only got two more. Faced with the final three, her ease had been lost as surprise faded. She gritted her teeth and carefully retreated, until two flew right at her. She used Pearl, then cut them down.

But before she could turn to check her back, the last Assassin drove a spiky arm through her chest. She screamed, and her Keyblade clattered to the ground and disappated as the Assassin prepared to drive another, this time through her stomach, to rip her in two.

Instructor Striker grinned whilst hiding in the shadowy alcove above the train station, amazed at Nexus's remarkable takedown of several assassin nobodies as he watched them from above. Using two different weapons and actually managing to achieve that kind of combat efficiency? Sure wish Sentiment was here. He'd be awestruck at this. Knowing that Zale and Annistha would be ok, he shifted his sights on Ghost, who just managed to defeat the nobody that had critically injured the boy just moments ago.

Just as Striker was about to pounce on the woman who had threatened the group of students, a chilling scream echoed within the station. He looked over and saw the horrific damage inflicted on Rei. "No!" he heard Ghost shouted as the student started running over to his girlfriend. The sight triggered the instructor's emotions as a seething rage started to develop, but was paralyzed as the sight reminded him of a similar incident not too long ago, the result of which is why he now currently has PTSD. No... Not again... Not to them... Acting on impulse, the instructor quickly and silently jumped off the rafters from above, his sights dead set on quickly subduing and restraining the woman before more students got hurt, or worse...

-----

"Rei! Rei!" Ghost frantically shouted as he ran to where the troubled girl was standing. He threw his keyblade at the assassin as it tried to deal the final blow, and solidly whacked the enemy just moments before the deed could be done, thankfully saving the girl as Ghost caught his girlfriend in his arms, too shocked and too worried to cry. "Stay with me, Rei..." he quietly pleaded to the girl as he casted cure on the girl. Almost forgetting about his side arm, he quickly yanked out his sub-rifle that was holstered on his left leg as he started aiming at any nobody that tried to finish off either him, or his girl who was in his arms...

Annistha prepared to pull the trigger on her gunblade when she heard Ghost's cries. She jerked her head around to see Ghost holding Rei, who was bleeding badly. Her face hardened with anger and fear as she turned back to the figure behind this. She let off a three round burst, with a corresponding three bolts of ruin at the lady, then vaulted off her perch and ran for Ghost and Rei.

"Concentrate on healing." She told Ghost as she made it to him, taking up a guard position in front of him. "I've got you covered."

Despite the worrying and gruesome look of Rei in his arms, Ghost managed to keep his voice, and more importantly his mindset, calm as his right hand started to glow with a faint green aura. His voice was hushed as he looked deeply into Rei's eyes, trying to silently reassure the girl as he tried a healing technique that he had learned while at the Academy. "Stay with me, Rei... You're going to be ok." As he tried to calm the girl, his right hand was hovering above the fatal looking wound, glowing ever brighter as a faint orb of green started to form.

Annistha was kind enough to assist the worrying Sentinel as she moved next to him. "Concentrate on healing. I've got you covered."

"Thanks, Annistha. Buy me as much time as you can."

Lucas quickly saw the woman, and the Assassins started swarming him. "Damn it, i wasn't expecting this!" He summoned his keyblade and quickly fired a few thunder spells, along with doign a spin attack to knock away the nobodies. "WHAT'RE YOU DOING? WE'RE THE ONES TRYING TO STOP THE HEARTLESS FROM DESTROYING THE WORLDS? WE'RE NOT GOING TO FLOOD THEM WITH DARKNESS!" He quickly tried to run through past the nobodies and find the others. "JOEL, WHERE ARE YOU?" He yelled out in hopes of him hearing Lucas.

The female laughed at Lucas. "You're from the academy, aren't you? You should know, then. They try to protect a balance, and teach that darkness needs to be used in unison with the light, correct? They're feeding you lies! They're going to plague the worlds with darkness again, and put us all at danger! It's idiots like you who believe them that are going to end up destroying the worlds again!"

Raidyn / Toshi

"Whoa! These must be Nobodies. Dusks to be exact," Raidyn cried, summoning his Shockwave Keyblade and holding it in a backwards grip. "Heh, finally! We get a chance to throw down! Come on guys, let's kick some butt!!" The young blonde sped off towards the closest pack of Noboides he could, slashing away at them with single strokes. He was having too much fun to even notice how easy it was to slice the Dusks away. "Come on Toshi, get in gear!"

"R-right!" Toshi said, summoning her own Keyblade, Protector. "Let's hope I can hold my own," she said softly to herself, joining Raidyn in the fray. Her strikes were more calm and calculated compared to the wild and abrasive swings of Raidyn. The two fought as similar as day and night, or even light and darkness.

Indy shot a Fire spell at a Dusk, then slashed through another. "You seem a little too excited, Raidyn..." The boy muttered.

Hm... They have a good balance of fighting styles. I wonder how they'll do against these, though...? The cloaked man snapped his finger, and a group of Berserkers surrounded the students.

"Where are these coming from?" Indy asked, looking around the mansion. He blocked the attack of one Berserker, and stabbed through it as a counter. Another one came from behind him, and slammed its claymore into his back. He was knocked into a wall, and crumpled onto the floor of the mansion.

The female quickly turned to face Striker, and fired a Blizzard spell at him. She rolled away, and studied the instructor. "I didn't think there would be another one hiding... It looks like I'll have to do some dirty work, now." She sighed, and summoned her Keyblade. "Do you really want to try to take me on? Shouldn't you focus on helping the others fight off the Nobodies?"

The female laughed at Lucas. "You're from the academy, aren't you? You should know, then. They try to protect a balance, and teach that darkness needs to be used in unison with the light, correct? Lucas grimaced at her reply. "And i say that YOU'RE THE ONE IN THE WRONG! Look at people like the great Riku, or King Mickey! They had some form of Darkness on their side, AND THEY WERE THE ONES WHO HELPED PUT AN END TO XEHANORT AND SAVED THE WORLDS ALL THOSE YEARS AGO! That's proof that Darkness isn't as evil as you say it is! Besides, i can wield the darkness and that doesn't mean i have the desire to ruin all the worlds!" He pointed his keyblade at her. "We'll prove to you that we can save the worlds, even with the power of Darkness."

He quickly jumped into the air and fired a few more thunder spells at the surrounding Nobodies and finished with a dash attack at 2 of them. He then quickly got hit in the back by a few and threw his keyblade into the crowd of enemies again. "Darn it, it's like no matter how many we kill, more keep takign their place. Joel, Where are you?"

Brooklyn switched his attack following the summoning of the Beserker's. He slid underneath one and cut it down the middle as he did so, he then jumped up and grabbed the handle of the weapon it had and spun around, whipping our a few more of the Nobodies before it disintegrated. Then, Brooklyn threw his keyblade into another, stabbing it, he ran and jumpped onto it, and tore upward, destroying the nobody and back-flipping off.

Annistha twirled in place, firing her gunblade and using her Ruin spell at all Nobodies in sight. Some she didn't have a good shot on, but it kept them covered.

"Don't worry about us, Striker." She called out to the instructor. "Take her down, the nobody problem goes away."

During one of her twirls, she looked down at Rei and Ghost.

"Any change?" She asked, concern in her voice.

After being in suspended animation for so long, Joel rushed toward the others. Rei looked to be in pretty bad condition, but it looked like Ghost had things under control. He didn't get that good of a look, for fear of getting nauseous. He joined the others in taking out the surrounding Nobodies. As Striker prepared to engage with the enemy, Annistha called out, "Don't worry about us. Take her down, the Nobody problem goes away."

Hmmm. "I hope you guys don't mind if I go help the Teach out!" he said as he ran out toward Striker and the mysterious woman. She's probably out of my league... but I have to do what I can! He cast Gravity, exerting force on the space the woman occpied. "Let's hope this works!" Joel shouted as he went from running into a Sliding Dash right toward the woman's legs.

(Uh Xiro, Lucas has been searching and calling out for Joel for the past 2 posts now. :P )

(It's kind of hard to respond to shouting when one is in suspended animation.)

The roof broke, and between the woman and striker. Zion stood, Aether Wing mode fading to her usual armor. "This bitch is mine." Forward Unto Dawn and Sunrise Everlasting flashed to existance, and Zion's twin bladed Keyblades became awash in golden fire.

"Radiance Unleashed - Stage One." She looked up at the woman. "Thats my daughter your Nobodies just harmed. You are a dead bitch."

She charged.

"And what is it that made them have to save the worlds in the first place? Darkness. Darkness only brings suffering. Riku and Mickey might have been able to use it for good, but they're already turning around and using it for evil purposes! Don't you see?" The girl shouted at Lucas, and shot a Blizzard spell at him. "All of you from the academy are idiots! The teachers, the students, everyone! You'll only destroy the worlds!" She was clearly angered by Lucas' comments.

The girl was knocked off balance by Joel's attack, and fell flat on her face. "Ugh... Two on one? That's not fair." She groaned, and got back up. "If I have to, I'll take you both on!"

The roof broke, and between the woman and striker. Zion stood, Aether Wing mode fading to her usual armor. "This bitch is mine." Forward Unto Dawn and Sunrise Everlasting flashed to existance, and Zion's twin bladed Keyblades became awash in golden fire.

"Better her and the rest of the academy than all of the worlds." The girl sighed, a bit annoyed by all of the sudden intrusions. "Where are you all coming from, anyway? I thought that he was supposed to deal with the others..." She muttered.

(Oh, so she uses Blizzard? Hmmm...)

Joel held back a laugh. I can't believe it worked that well. This chick may not be so tough.

Then some woman came crashing through the roof. She looked kinda like one of the Academy professors... Nah, couldn't be.

"Lucas!" Joel called. "Keep on talking!" Joel thought that perhaps Lucas's words were getting to the woman. That was something they could use to their advantage.

(Sorry I haven't been able to respond lately...Kinda had a lack of motivation :P)

Cid himself was fighting off a Berserker that had attacked him. Well, by 'fighting' it was more of a 'nimbly dodge attacks as if taunting the opponent' "Ooh, am I over here? NOPE! Here I am! Ooh, now I'm over here!" After the Berserker went for a side attack, Cid ducked, and countered with an uppercut from his Keyblade, killing it. "Aaaawww yeah! That felt great!" He then looks over at Indy, knocked against the wall. "Yo, Indy, you alright, man?" Then looking back, he blocked a sudden attack from another Berserker.

Brooklyn dashed into the attacking Beserker, knocking it to the ground, he backflipped again and stabbed it through the chest, killing it, then, he delivered a kick to the head of on of them, pulling himself up onto it, he cleaved it down the middle and finished his current assault with a throw from his keyblade again, stabbing another Beserker, he this time, however, grabbed the Keyblade, lifted, and threw the Nobody off of it into another and killed both.

Lucas looked in the direction in which he heard Joel's voice. "O-Ok then, i'll try my best!" He then looked towards the woman. "So what if darkness was the cause of this? Darkness isn't evil, its just that evil people like Xehanort used it against the worlds, and that made people believe darkness itself is evil, when really it's not! XEHANORT WAS THE CAUSE OF THIS, NOT DARKNESS!"

Zion fired Pearl.

"Visiting my wife. My light and my power. And I am living proof that Light and Darkness can coexist." Zion charged after firing Pearl. "I am Zion de Wynter. The Keyblade Master of Balance and Bringer of Salvation's Dawn. I had darkness that I came to terms with!" She threw one Keyblade at the woman before striking.

"And I will die before you harm my family!"

The female quickly turned to face Striker, and fired a Blizzard spell at him. She rolled away, and studied the instructor. "I didn't think there would be another one hiding... Instructor Striker was hit squarely on the shoulder with a blizzard spell as the chunk of armor froze, then shattered into pieces when he hit the ground, revealing the matte black body glove underarmor beneath it. The woman actually managing to detect and avoid the stealthy remnant of a Guardian, putting the Striker at a considerable disadvantage as the woman now faced and addressed him.

"I didn't think there would be another one hiding... It looks like I'll have to do some dirty work, now."

The instructor blinked for a moment, then realized that she thought he was just another student as the hostile woman summoned her keyblade. I'm gonna need every advantage I can get, he thought to himself as he worryingly looked over to Ghost, Rei and Annistha. I was meant for offensive superiority, and nothing else. If she makes me go on the defensive, I'll be a goner in a heartbeat. The idea that every single student in the train station, himself included, could all be taken out by one lone woman was now a grim reality as the instructor took up a battle stance, really wishing he could dual-wield keyblades again. As if reading his thoughts on the matter, Annistha reassured the instructor. "Don't worry about us, Striker. Take her down, the nobody problem goes away."

Stirker nodded, then returned his attention to the woman. Just run away when she tries to attack. Gain some distance, then charge in to attack, and don't give her a break... Simple. The chilly staring contest was thankfully interrupted when Zion showed up, destroying some beautiful architecture in the process but otherwise making a rather explosive entrance to the scene. "This bitch is mine," she growled, "That's my daughter your Nobodies just harmed. You are a dead bitch." . Striker smirked; maybe he could stand a chance after all. "Better her and the rest of the academy than all of the worlds. "Where are you all coming from, anyway? I thought that he was supposed to deal with the others..." Striker raised an eyebrow: There was more than one operative the mission was targeting. As Zion charged the woman, Striker held back for a bit, then maneuvered to tackle the woman. She knows about other operatives. Zion... SUbdue her. We need the intelligence.

Ghost was still focused on healing Rei, her wounds just starting to close as the Sentinel-in-training held her close to his chest. "Any change?" he heard Annistha ask.

"She's stable now," Ghost breathed, "but I don't know enough advance magic to really heal her. Her mother is here now, so once everything is taken care of, get Zion to come over here. She can take care of Rei..."

  • 2 weeks later...

Stirker nodded, then returned his attention to the woman. Just run away when she tries to attack. Gain some distance, then charge in to attack, and don't give her a break... Simple. Joel saw Striker go for the woman. Better do what I can to help. Usually, using the same trick twice wouldn't work, but the woman seemed to be too distracted by Professor Zion to pay any attention to the others.

Joel cast Gravity on the woman again. He hoped that it would be enough to hold her so that the teachers could go in and deal some heavy damage.

(Thank ffffffffffffff**king God there weren't that many posts going on while I was gone. I would have gone nuts.)

Raidyn / Toshi

Raidyn and Toshi met back to back as the mysterious man summoned a group of Beserkers to attack the Keyblade wielders. Raidyn and Toshi watched as Indy, Brookyln, and Cid faced them. They were both impressed by the skill they had seen, Raidyn being most impressed of course, and also a little sorry for Indy after he got knocked unconscious.

Then the Beserkers went after them next. "Alright then, it's time for me to go beserk!" Raidyn said, clashing against one of the Beserker's claymores with his own Shockwave. It was rather pointless to engage into a power struggle given the Nobody's size advantage, Raidyn being on the losing end in a matter of seconds, but luckily Raidyn was at least able to get the creature off guard so that Toshi could come from behind and slash at it from behind. Raidyn used the distraction to his advantage by defeating the Beserker as it opened its guard. Raidyn and Toshi then clashed and battled with the other Beserkers, Raidyn getting creative by using his quickness to blow through several of the enemies and even use their claymores against them, stealing their weapons from them and using it in conjuction with his Keyblade and swinging them both two and fro. Toshi stuck with her own weapon, being that she was, again, a more composed fighter than her the wild Raidyn.

Toshi then remembered Indy, and quickly moved towards his location. "I'll use my best spell. Heal!" She said, casting Cure on her fallen friend.

Brooklyn yawned. "There's gotta be something more difficult than these." He muttered, kicking one in the face, then upside the head, he dragged it to the floor, then he stabbed it in the back and released it of its weapon. He decided to have some fun with this, and used some quotes of Isa, or rather Saïx's time when he used the weapon, which Jiminy had recorded in their encounters with him, putting it into the history books for whatever reason. "All shall be lost to you...!" He muttered, hooking around another Beserker's weapon, he threw his keyblade and caught it with his mouth, then, he disarmed the Beserker and cleaved through it, and then another and another, spinning in conjunction to the three blades he had as he used thwm, he marked up a decent kills treat before the first claymore was gone, switching his blade back to the other hand, he killed three more, then the other claymore disappeared. Brooklyn then made the Beserker's "feel" bad. He just kept parrying their strikes and laughing as he did so. "Barely minded drones..."he muttered, again yawning.

Lucas quickly dodge rolled to the right to dodge the Blizzard. "Man, there's no getting through to you is there?"

"You say Xehanort was the cause of this?" The girl laughed. "Xehanort hasn't been relevant for years! He was just one of the many who abused the power of darkness for his own personal gain! People like Mickey and Riku are no different. And people like you are blindly following them, completely unaware of all of the people you're harming in the process!" She shouted back. She was about to attack, when the other woman spoke up, while the other two who were fighting her joined in.

"That can be arranged." She said in response to Zion. She prepared to dodge Zion and Striker's attacks, but was held back by Joel's spell. "What?!" She growled, and looked around the area. She spotted Joel, realizing that he was the one who stopped her. "You... I'll kill you, first, you-" She was cut off when Zion's Keyblade hit her, managing to strike her in the back of the head. She collapsed, seemingly unconscious... A few Nobodies circled around her, trying to defend her from her attackers.

Indy was revitalized by Toshi's spell, and managed to pull himself up. "Thanks." He muttered, still shaken by the Berserker's attack. He blocked the attack of one who was planning to eliminate him while he was knocked down, and shot a close-ranged fire spell at it, following up with a powerful slash. "What all did I miss? Everyone else is okay, right?" He asked, too focused on his enemies to look around and make sure everyone was safe.

The cloaked man who was watching the group was interrupted by an Assassin Nobody. "Hm... She was taken down, then...?" He asked, seeming to understand why it had arrived. "Is she still alive?" The Nobody seemed to nod. "Very well... I suppose I'll have to go and help her out, then..." He looked back towards the group of students in the mansion. "I would have liked to see how they fight, though..."

Nobodies could not stand to her. Zion's Keyblades ripped into them, blasts of light and Pearl shots raining down. The Nobodies steadily cleared, until she stood above the woman.

"That was my daughter." She vrowled. Her Keyblade raised...and slammed into the ground mere centimeters from the woman's head. Zion spun and reduced the remaining attackers to nothing ess, then gripped the Keyblade in the ground.

"But my baby wouldn't want me to kill you." So Zion kicked the woman's head visciously as Rei's eyes weakly opened.

"P...pancakes?" She whispered. Her boyfriend leaning in worriedly, tears streaming. "...I feel....I feel..." she trailed off. "I have a stomach ache."

"You say Xehanort was the cause of this?" The girl laughed. "Xehanort hasn't been relevant for years! He was just one of the many who abused the power of darkness for his own personal gain! "And who exactly are we harming then, if Riku and Mickey are really as evil as you say they are?" Lucas said in reply.

As Striker started his run on the woman, Joel's assist came as a welcome relief as the woman make scathing threats to the student, then promptly fell to the floor as Zion did her damage. "Secure the situation!" the instructor yelled to every student in the area as he stopped in his tracks, wary of a counterattack whenever an opponent was downed. His intuition paid off when the nobodies came rallying back around the fallen woman, but could only stare in awe as Zion once again decided to take matters into her own hands. The nobodies were dealt with swiftly, and before he knew it the most major threat to the students were gone. Speechless, the instructor could only walk to the woman and place restraining cuffs, rated to detain keybladers, on the woman as Zion kicked the woman on the head. "Lets not do that," he calmly informed the raging mother, "target is subdued and secured. You might want to check up on your daughter. I'll take over from here." He kneeled on the woman with one knee; the bladed part of his keyblade pressed up against the neck of the woman as his gaze hardened, another memory of his resurfacing as he heard Ghost's voice in the distance.

Target secured, sir.

Cool! Just in time to get back home for some milk and cookies! Wait until-

What the-?! Get out of the way!

Ghost gently wiped away Rei's tears as he pulled her head close to his chest, trying to hide his crying face as he softly tried to reassure the girl.

"P...pancakes? ...I feel....I feel... I have a stomach ache."

Ghost snickered, trying to hide the sadness in his voice as he took a troubled breath. "You always--had a knack of being hungry--at the worst times, dear." He softly nuzzled the girl, kissing her on the cheek and whispered into her ears, "Everything is gonna be ok. Your mom is here. She'll take care of you."
