Kingdom Hearts: Fade into Light (Roleplay Thread)

Radiant Garden

Keyblade Academy

Indy made his way through the academy halls, glancing around at the rooms he passed by. I was told to meet with a teacher in the Gummi hangar... They said that there would be other students, too. What's so urgent that they'd call a few of us there? Is there something going on in other worlds...? Maybe they even have a mission for us... I've always wanted the opportunity to leave Radiant Garden, anyway... He thought to himself as he moved along, pondering what it is that he was ordered to meet there for.

He eventually reached the room, noticing that it was empty. "Hm... Well, I did try to get here early, anyway." He muttered, leaning against a wall. He appeared calm, but his mind was racing. Will I get to visit other worlds? Who else will I be with? Will I have a chance to see Allitt again...? He drifted into deep thought, not taking notice of his surroundings...

(And yes, the other students all received the orders, too.)

"Mmkay." Ember responded quietly, laying her head on Brooklyn's shoulder. So rend glanced at her. He'd seen this act before. Ember did it all the time to people who weren't on top of the world. It had happened to him plenty. Ember would be next to them, lots of bodily contact, what kind depended on how she felt about the person (for the record, he had never seen her lay her head on them) and then just be quiet, let them talk, or work it out however they needed to. She just played support.

Rei slipped the stone onto her belt, and Zion floated down from her lounging position in the sky.

Eventually, the students all made it back to Mulan's training camp. Fortunately, everything seemed fine at the camp. Mulan rushed over to the group, looking worried. "I heard a loud roar from up in the mountains, where I saw you all come from... Are you okay?" She asked the group.

"Yeah. We're fine. We were unable to capture the one sending the Nobodies here, though..." Indy dejectedly announced to the general. "However, we did find out something else... Something very disturbing." He recounted the events that had occurred to Mulan, who nodded in response.

"Hm... Alright. I'll have to train the soldiers even harder, in case any more threats come up." Mulan smiled. "I'll protect China with my life! You all don't need to worry about us."

"Good." Indy smiled. "In that case... I think we all have to leave now. We need to follow after whoever's been causing these crimes."

"Before you go... I have a little gift for-" Mulan began to speak, but was quickly cut off.

"'Little'? Who are you calling 'little,' Mulan?" A voice began to speak, while a large shadow suddenly cast over a tent... The shadow of a dragon.

"What?!" Indy summoned his Keyblade, prepared to fight.

"Whoa, whoa, hold it there! Mulan's guardian dragon, coming through!" The shadow gradually shrunk, until a small, red lizard was now standing near the tent.

"Uh... What's the lizard for?" Indy asked, looking confused.

"Did he just call me a lizard?!" The small dragon looked clearly frustrated.

Mulan laughed. "This is my guardian dragon, Mushu. He can't really come along with you, but... I'd like it if you'd ask him to help from time to time." Mulan passed out stones to the students in front of here. "You can use these to call him at any time. He might not look like much, but I assure you he will be helpful." She smiled.

"What do you mean, I don't look like much?" Mushu looked even more offended. "Mulan, you know just how strong I am!" He flexed his small muscles.

Indy tried not to laugh at the display. "Thank you, Miss Mulan." He nodded. "We're sure these will be useful."

Having a stupidly wide grin on his face, Ghost fought tooth and nail not to giggle at how small Mushu was. The Sentinel-in-Training happily accepted the gift from Mulan, to which he quickly pocketed the stone into one of his tactical pouches. Looking around for his girlfriend Rei, Ghost quickly noticed Ember snuggling up with Brooklyn. He raised an eyebrow and wanted to ask if the girl was feeling ok, but quickly shook off the thought. Everyone has their preferences. This ought to be good.

Hearing Zion's remark, Ghost looked around at the posse of students to make sure everyone got their gift. "It looks like it, ma'am." he replied, still worried about the fact that their target got away.

Meanwhile, up above...

Instructor Striker turned off the armor camera-feed on Ghost's armor and sighed quietly. He was unsure what to make of his student. On one hand, Ghost was doing pretty well in a group environment, and seemed to be able to hold out on his own when singled out, which sorta served the Instructor's criteria of "One versus One Combat." But on the other hand, his girlfriend was critically injured under the kid's watch, and didn't seem to display the initiative that the instructor was looking for. Striker growled quietly to himself as he altered the gummi flight controls slightly to fly in a wide, slow, lazy circle around the students high above. "I can't authorize a reunion with his squad until this guy proves that he can hold out on his own."

"Well... I think that's everyone now. We should probably get back to the Gummi Ship... Thank you, Miss Mulan." Indy nodded to the warrior, and began to head back to the ship. However, he stopped in front of his sister. "Hey... I know you probably don't want to do this, but... You're welcome in our Gummi Ship if you'd like to join us again." He forced himself to speak. "It wouldn't be right for us to just leave you here, anyway..."

"You'd better be willing to let me come along, because I'm going with you either way." Allitt snapped. "We both have the same enemies now, so we might as well work together..." She muttered.

"Right." Indy tried not to smile. He didn't want to let it show, but he was glad that he could fight alongside his sister now. Even though she didn't seem to quite be warming up to their group, they'd at least have a chance to be together after all the time they'd spent separated from each other. "In that case, let's go to the Gummi Ship." He continued on his way to the mountain where they'd landed.

Toshi

"Hang in there, Raidyn. We're almost there," Toshi softly said to her friend as she turned around and followed Indy back to the ship.

Gaku followed along with Indy and Allitt as they head towards the mountain where the Gummi ship awaits. On the way there, Gaku had his headphones on and listened to his music. He may look like he's shutting out everyone, but in reality, Gaku was deep in thought about his next stop during the students' journey. 'More than likely, Shibuya is our next stop. Never thought I would be going back to my homeworld, but it's not for the sake of nostalgia.' Gaku thought. 'That girl picked up the Player Pin from the world. How was she able to get it? Did she die, survive the game and stole the pin? Naw. That's unlikely.'

Gaku continued walking and his head went up in signal of realization. 'Unless. . . One of the Reapers is working with the Organization. That makes perfect sense. If we go to Shibuya, we should get information about this, and I know two perfect sources to help out. I wonder how they doing?'

Brooklyn looked over at Ember and nodded. Time to follow.

[Land of Dragons]

Hearing Indy's remark about heading back into the gummi ships, Ghost quickly decided to radio in his instructor, who was piloting his future ship anyways. "Ghost to Striker, I need a pick-up, over?"

Meanwhile...

Instructor Striker had actually fallen asleep in the main cockpit seat aboard the Gummi Ship Overwatch. Thankfully, the autopilot computers kicked in when the cockpit mics picked up the tell-tale snore of his, and when the ship started to tilt dangerously to the side because of his arms resting on the control stick despite the fact that he was supposed to be flying in a big, lazy circle. A gentle beeping roused the sleepy head back into consciousness, where he quickly identified the alarm as a hail over the radio. Wiping away some of the drool that had trailed down one side of his lips, Striker cleared his throat and reached for the mic. "What was that now? I was... busy with stuff. Yeah... Lets go with that."

"I need a pick-up. Indy made the call to go somewhere else. Never said where though."

"Uh... Ok? I guess we'll just follow them then."

Overriding the autopilot controls, after reassuring the ship that he was in fact awake by screaming and bashing on the consoles, Striker quickly maneuvered the ship and landed near the parked Highwind, away from the training camp and curious eyes. Opening the loading ramp, the instructor patiently await for the other students to finally arrive.

(Is it safe to assume that everyone heads to the Gummi ship?)

Zale made a sour face as he heard the call to go back to the ship. Once he or his sister got better at creating portals by themselves, he wouldn't go aboard another Gummi ship.

[Nexus Shift]

Annistha took over, as her brother was being a Gloomy Gus. She gave Mulan a wave, then ran after the others. She came up beside Gaku, then noticed he was deep in thought.

"Oy!" She said, elbowing Gaku playfully. "Whatcha thinking about?"

(Brooklyn and Ember are gonna be heading a bit away first.)

Ember nodded in return, and walked alongside Brooklyn, staying quiet as well. Somrene watched her for a second longer, then turned and started walking as well. Ember would likely stay with Brooklyn for a bit like she had done before. He planned on co-piloting again, unless of course someone other than Indy wanted the job. As Somrene walked he found himself next to Toshi. He saw that she was bearing the heavy burden of Raidyn. Somrene sighed, then picked Raidyn up out of Toshi's arms. "Give him a piece of your mind when he wakes up, making you carry him like that." Somrene said, carrying the unconscious boy himself.

As they walked down, Brooklyn sighed. When they reached a secluded spot, he turned to her. "Alright, look, what I'm going to say will sound almost like nonsense." He started. "But... when I first showed up at the Academy, I had severe amnesia. I couldn't understand why I was there, who I was, or anything, but today..." his mind flashed back to the dark vortex. The boy who had nearly killed him with the use of his keyblade, a girl with purple hair and almond-shaped eyes with a matching color, then the blue and white-haired girl who both stirred odd emotions in him. "Today, I remember some horrible things about who I am, a few at least. I feel like I might be dangerous to everyone here, and I don't think it's the best idea I contenue on this mission. The more I remember about myself, the more that seems wrong with me."

"Our next course of action, and how Junsei, the organization member, obtained the Player. I think we need to contact Master Sora about this situation when we get back on the ship." Gaku explained. "By the way, who's gonna pilot it? The instructor or one of the students?"

"Oh... uh, no-no, that's fine, Somreme, but thank you," Toshi said politely, taking Raidyn back in a rather quick manner. "I can handle this on my own," she added, deciding to ignore the bit about giving Raidyn a piece of her mind.

(I got something planned for these two. Do me a favor and let them be for now.)

[Well, I tried to interpret the posts. I don't think I'm doing anything illegal here xD]

Witnessing Ember getting a little close to the group's hotshot, Ghost couldn't help but smile as he watched Brooklyn seek out a secluded spot. Maybe he's gonna propose to the girl? the Sentinel-in-training thought as curiosity got the better of him and started trailing the two. He stayed back, wanting to give them their privacy but couldn't help listening in to what the hotshot had to say.

"Alright, look, what I'm going to say will sound almost like nonsense." Ghost heard Brooklyn start,  "But... when I first showed up at the Academy, I had severe amnesia. The Hotshot was right: It did sound like nonsense to him. Furiously reciting the whole speech in his head, Ghost tried to make sense of what Brooklyn was trying to say. Maybe I should refer him to my instruc- wait... Bad idea. I should talk to him and ask for advice. I wonder if hotshot would be ok with that? Maybe not. Debating whether to bring up this information with his instructor, Ghost realized that the group was getting near the gummi ship. He stayed put, not wanting to butt in to their moment, but still wanted to hear more of this interesting exchange.

As they walked down, Brooklyn sighed. When they reached a secluded spot, he turned to her. "Alright, look, what I'm going to say will sound almost like nonsense." He started. Lucas also walked with the group as they headed back to the Gummi Ship, hearing a little bit of what Brooklyn was saying, mostly the part which he was saying he probably shouldn't continue on the mission. Hm. I didn't think i'd hear him of all people say that. I wonder what's really wrong.

Somrene crossed his arms. "Fine." He said stoically, walking away. Humph. So this is what he got for trying to help out? Whatever. He could take a hint. Taking a page from Ember's book clearly hadn't worked, so he wasn't going to interact at all, unless necessary of course. Immature brats and overconfident jerks, the lot of them. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. He needed to chill out. His darkness was showing. He breathed our, and opened his eyes. Maybe some alone time would do him some good after all.

Ember listened to what Brooklyn had to say. Uhhhhhhhhhhh. Interesting. "No." Ember said plainly. She shook her head. Before Brooklyn could protest, Ember silenced him. "No. You're going to keep going. You know that. I know that. It doesn't matter what may have happened in the past. You are who you are now. Pasts don't matter. You can keep growing, move past whatever may have happened. There is no way, you could be dangerous to us. The Brooklyn I know would never do something like that to those you call comrades."

"You didn't see the things I saw, though..." He murmored, lowering his hand, a puff of dark smoke drifted from his hand, a small, black, tornado-looking thing then formed in his hands from the smoke. "Imagine something like this, only large enough to hold me inside of it. I could hear the voice of a entity made purely of darkness, and not in a sense as we know of it now. It was sinister... and I could feel it telling my body what to do..." He let the little wind dissipate, but the smoke still drifted lazily out of the palm of his hand. "And I saw people who I was the leader of, a team of people. Their names escape me, yet their people I know, I care for, and I miss. What if they're in danger? Or dead? What if I did that to them when I wasn't in control..." He said. "If I loose control like that again, I could be dangerous to everyone... I couldn't handle the idea of just... loosing it and putting everyone in danger, specifically you the most..."
