And hooooly shit this is AWESOME ^_^....like wow I've been surprised,I know I'd like the game when I play it but now I even love it more

I'm now at the point where we meet Sabin and later on the party gets separated after that raft segment and I'm loving every second of this game so far.

Also, this soundtrack right here sealed it for me.Nobou Uematsu if officially my favorite video game composer of all time

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFoGXzSbDw8

It's like Nobou has hands of golds for music

Though one thing,if you're gonna play FF6....DON'T PLAY THE PS1 VERSION AT ALL!!!

For some reason this version has slowdowns everytime you save the game, the transition to battles is slower than the SNES version by a lot and the possible glitches that you can encounter in the PS1 version are more than the SNES version

Just pick the SNES,GBA or the Virtual console version of the game. The only reason I got the PSP version just because of the convenience of having it on my PsP.....I tried the iOSAndroid version from my friend's iOS and it felt so awkward to control and the new sprites are weird and not as appealing to me as the FFIV PsP version sprites

I have the Virtual ConsoleGBA and PS1 version of the game currently

I'll alternate between FFVI and FFX as of now so it might take sometime for me before I attempt to review VI....I might finish 9 first so I hope you guys are looking forward to that.....assuming I have any degree of well-known to begin with

Wait till you hear the music of the final boss.

I've finally defeated Kefka and may I say that Dancing Mad is the most epic final boss theme in FF history.....that 4 parts theme is F****KING GLORIOUS AMAZING AND INTIMIDATING and it perfectly display Kefka's madness

Especially.....ESPECIALLY the fourth part

That moment when Kefka was descending from the sky.....HOOOOLY SHIT! THAT....WAS....AWESOME!!!!

Also,Kefka can cast Heartless Angel....that's right Heartless Angel belongs to Kefka not Sephiroth......KEFKA=BEST FINAL FANTASY VILLAIN EVER!!!!!

As for the battle itself,it was about the same difficulty as Sephiroth in FFVII......but the battle with Kefka was more epic because of Dancing Mad ^_^

And also, how much of a sad character he is .

And also, how much of a sad character he is .

That bit was made more clearer in Dissidia and Dissidia 012 as he finds joy only in destruction to fill the void inside him...though I don't know why I didn't like their attempt at that in Dissidia as they're trying to make you sympathize with the sadistic man who killed thousands and laugh at the screams of children and elders dying.......I prefer to look at Kefka as pure Evilness

He was a sad character  in VI too(and the saddest chararcter in any media, books, etc) , the "Life... Dreams... Hope... Where do they come from? And where do they go...? Such meaningless things... I'll destroy them all!" he finds life meaningless in FFVI, and that is somthing really sad, also I think that the ".Destruction is what makes life worth living" also apeeared in FFVI and personally, that's why I think that he is the best vilian in a.

And Exdeath takes the spot for the pure evil villian for me, but from what I understood, you haven't played 5 yet, so I won't spoil you.

Btw, thanks for the special thanks, I was glad to help.

Well I haven't played FF5 yet but from what I've seen of him in DissidiaDissidia 012 I got a good idea about him...I know he born from an evil tree and he want to sink everything to the void.....sure he's an essence of true evil but the amount of evil acts he committed isn't even close to Kefka.

As for Kefka I get that his emptiness and sadness is supposed to be subtle sorta like how The Joker's character was handled in my opinion

But his villainy in my opinion was supreme as not only he likes to destroy everything, but he enjoys letting his victims suffer as much as possible

I don't know how to say it but I hope you understood me

Thanks again for the help guys I'm really really really grateful for it

I bet OP was overleveled

Well my Level was around 48 or 50 so I'm not as overleveled as some playthroughs on youtube

And that's for Terra,Celes,Sabin and Gau

Everyone else was from 30 to 35

Well he doesn't find any meaning to life other than killing and destruction, and these are the only times when he finds joy, so he makes the most of it.

I kind of see it pointless to contiue this discussion, because even though our base for loving kefka as a villian are the same, it seems that  our definitions and meanings of villian, what makes a  villian great, etc, are very diffrent, and if we contiue, as it would simpaly be repetitive.

And other than helping you in the game, I had fun in disussing with you when I did(including this one).

Don't get me wrong buddy I totally get what you mean,it's just the way I see it I always see the villainous side of characters like Kefka and the Joker as those are villains that do a great job in making you love to hate them since what Kefka's done is unforgivable and led to the suffering of many including the main characters and drives their adversaries to move forward whether it's to save the world or seek revenge on said villain

But hey at the end of the day,we have something in common ^_^

Yep, I understood what you meant, however, that's not why kefka is my no.1 FF vilain, without his sad part, he wouldn't  be on my top 5 FF villain, or even 10, I prefer a  villain with good story and "character" rather than a "bastard" villain without "character:

May the force be with you you won't need as much the guide called KH13, and have good luck with the next FF(5?)

Well he has a good character it's just a sadistic and a nihilistic one and what I love about him is that he's completely different from other FF villains

Anyway,it's alright....it's just I'm not good at explaining sometimes

As for my next FF game...it'll be either 9 or 10

I might make a thread like this for 9 just for the sake of discussion cuz I had a ton of fun with this one

out of interest, will it be your first time playing 9 and 10?

And I can understand you on that part lol.

Also, I am not saying that he doesn't have "character", I am saying that without the sad part of kefka, he doesn't have too much character imo, think of it like this

the sad part explains why kefka did what he did.

without it, the closest  reason for why kefka did all of this,  is either "he just want to be a bastard" or "he want to be the god of magic"

I prefer the sad part, as it gives much more character.

As for 9 I'm in the middle of disc 1 and as of 10 I lost my Ps2 disc of it a long time ago before I even leave Besaid...but now I got the HD collection so I'll be finishing it

I think I'll alternate between the two and Bravely Default since I need to finish that one too

Speaking of Sadness,FF6 has to be the darkest game in the series (from my experience anyway)...I mean wow a lot of dark stuff happened in the game that didn't happen in most of FF games.

I mean heck I read that originally it was planned that Terra would die in the ending but Sakaguchi and others changed it and said it was going a little too far...I mean I would've cried if Terra died poor girl had been through a lot of suffering

  • Author

Now I wish Square Enix made a anime of FFVI.

THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISS

I'll die happily if this happened

THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISS I'll die happily if this happened

Most likely it would be a 2-part OVA one with the beginning of Terra entering Narshe to the world being destroy, and the 2nd with Celes waking up to seeing the world be restore after Kefka is defeated.

Hey Red Tribal do you somewhat get jealous, and well envious when someone got something really good that is FFVI related?
