It has been thirteen years since the final conflict between Cosmos and Chaos erupted.  Ever since the destruction of Chaos, a very fragile peace has followed.  But what awaits the world now, as a new threat beckons at its doorstep?  Will anyone be prepared for the arrival of Shinryu...?  Can the mighty dragon be stopped?  The fantasy begins now...

 

It's a cold and quiet summer evening, and the ocean waves gently crash on the shore.  The moon rides high and the town is ever peaceful, as people go about their daily night life.  Among the crowd walks a lone man, one that you could say, stands out from the crowd.  He seems quiet and stoic and he has clothing that would mark him as a solider.  His name is Lucius Sablewind.  The man always keeps to himself, closed from anyone who tries so much as to make contact with him.  He notices an inn nearby, and as he walks towards it, he sees the name of the inn up top.  "The Blazing Phoenix huh?" he says to himself.  With that, he enters the inn, and then he goes straight to the bartender and asks for a drink.  At the far end of the table, he sees a woman, no doubt a warrior, taking a drink herself.  He immediately took notice of the weapon she was wielding, and he stared at the weapon intently, wondering who could have forged it.

"It seems that we aren't going to reach an agreement." Rabiyu said. "It is a shame, but there is nothing I can do about it."Rabiyu noticed Yuzun when he was about to try another attack, but then a sudden earthquake began to shake."What?"At that moment everything started to slowly disappear. The white haired girl never took her eyes away from Yuzun while still pointing her bow towards him. Even when only her could hear the cries of the Spirits around them and it made her ears hurt."What's going on? This is not his doing, but then whose is?" She thought."Whatever started this, I doubt it cares who gets caught in its disappearing act." Joker said."Agreed.. " Rabiyu answered. " Even so, we can't let our guard down. Not yet."

Yuzun was just as clueless as Rabiyu and Joker, and then he immediately remembered about his mother, Yanoto, who was still inside the castle.  "Mother!" he shouted, and he quickly retreated to go to the aid of his mother.  He disappeared instantly.

Meanwhile, Lucius, who was already out of the town and in the forest path, felt the earthquake as well.  He was suddenly caught off guard by the sudden event.  "What in the world?" he whispered to himself, and then he saw the castle disappear, and then he felt the ground giving way, and as he looked down, he noticed that he could see through the ground clearly.  Whatever was happening, he had no time to think about it.  Suddenly, he looked upwards, and saw a giant dragon, covered in gold, flying above him.  Lucius was speechless.

"'Mother?'" Joker echoed.

Sheathing his weapon, Joker retreated a few yards as he continued to watch the castle. Was he lucky enough to not have to deal with that mad man again?

"No." He thought sourly.

"Come on." He said to Rabiyu. "Better regroup and compare notes again. Can't stumble around blind."

"A wise course of action." Rabiyu replied.Putting the arrow on her quiver Rabiyu saw how Yuzun disappeared instantly."We don't have time to lose."Before she could move the young Huntress looked to the ground, but there was nothing there, it was completely see through."What's going on? There is no ground so how are we"It was then that she looked upwards and what she saw surprised her. It was a giant dragon, covered in gold."Any idea of what that could be, Joker? Rabiyu asked. "Somehow I doubt that is normal."The Huntress then noticed, there was not a single noise coming from the Spirits, they went quiet and that was a first time for her."There is something wrong. We must retreat and come up with a plan."

Lucius, having seen Joker and Rabiyu, headed towards them with great haste. "I don't know who these people are, but they seem to know what's happening...I should join forces with them for now." he said to himself, concluding that siding with these warriors was the right choice, at least for now anyway. He then reached them and signaled them with his sword. "Follow me!" he said, urging them to follow him.

"A dragon of any kind is always a bad sign." Joker noted sourly, as he watched the dragon fly off.

He caught sight of Lucius running up, causing him to reach for his sword again, then he relaxed as Lucius called for them to move.

"Possible alley." He said. "Excellent. Coming, Rabiyu?"

With that, Joker took off, following Lucius's lead.

Lucius noticed Joker coming up, which meant that they were going to follow him.  With that, he let his silence do the talking, as he quickly traversed through a small forest path, stopping at regular intervals to make sure that Joker and Rabiyu were behind and following.  He knew something wasn't right, all he knew is that the mysterious golden dragon had something to do with this.  But he would have to save his thoughts for later, because right now, running to stay alive was his top priority.  Again, he started picking up the pace, running as fast as he could, not letting anything slow him down.

Rabiyu nodded at Joker's comment on the Dragon, that's until she caught sight of Lucius."Is he..." She said while slowly moving her hand towards her bow."Follow me!""Possible alley. Excellent. Coming, Rabiyu?" Joker said before following Lucius."I guess we don't have a choice."Rabiyu said before following the two guys. From time to time the Huntress looked up just in case the dragon tried to do something.

Now Lucius was certain that Rabiyu and Joker were following close behind, and with that, he pressed on, but then he found himself not being able to continue forward, as everything started fading away.  "What sorcery is this?" Lucius muttered to himself, and then, to his shock and surprise, he saw that he too was fading away.  Before he could even be able to make sense of it, he was completely warped out of existence, and then he found himself in a pitch black area, where he saw Rabiyu and Joker in the distance.  He went towards them, silent and stoic, hoping they knew what was going on.

Joker slowed to a stop as he looked for signs of Lucius. It looked like his tracks just stopped. Joker raised a hand, hoping to stop Rabiyu in time. Something felt off here. If he focused, he could feel a strange power at work here.

"Do you feel that?" He asked Rabiyu.

Lucius looked left and right, but everything was pitch black.  The only thing he could see was himself, Joker and Rabiyu.  He went towards them, and he remained silent, waiting for one of them to explain what was going on.  But it seemed that they didn't know what was happening, so they were now at a loss at what to do.  They suddenly heard a noise in the distance, a noise that got his attention.  "What kind of sick trick is this?" Lucius said to himself, and he grasped his sword tightly, ready for anything that might attack.

Rabiyu came to a stop when Joker after he raised his hand."Do you feel that?" He askedThe young Huntress focused on her surroundings in an attempt to sense enothing out of the ordinary."I don't" She said before stopping. "Wait...you're right. Something is here."And then there was a noise in the distance."What kind of sick trick is this?" Lucius said.Rabiyu took an arrow from her quiver and focused for any coming attack.

As the three individuals stood there, waiting for an eventual assault, they instead heard a soothing and calming voice, and Lucius looked straight ahead.  The voice spoke to them, as if pleading them to listen.  "Brave warriors, you have been summoned by me, into this realm...Order's Sanctuary.  I require of your assistance, for a great threat now endangers the fragile piece of the world.  I, Cosmos, the Goddess of Harmony, summon you to my throne." the goddess said, and with that, the scenery changed into a vast, white  field, with energy beams streaming upwards, and a throne nestled in the center.  Lucius immediately saw Rabiyu and Joker bow down to Cosmos, but Lucius did not do the same. 

"Ah." Joker thought. "I was wondering when she would call."

Relaxing his grip on his weapon, Joker gave a short bow to Cosmos. As he straightened up, he took stock of who else was there.

"M'lady." He said respectfully. "Sorry to met you under such circumstances."

Rabiyu noticed that it was the Goddess of Harmony herself that was in front of her. She then put the arrow back in the quiver and bowed at Cosmos.

" I apologize for that Goddess of Harmony." Rabiyo said. "I wasn't aware it was you."

The white haired girl then straightened up and looked around.

"The spirits are calm...it must be Cosmos' presence." Rabiyu thought to herself.

Lucius didn't even bow, and seeing Joker and Rabiyu bow down to Cosmos made him shake his head. "I bow to no one." he said as he walked away. Cosmos watched him go away but did not say a word. She turned her attention to Joker and Rabiyu and she smiled at them. "Brave warriors, you have been chosen to protect this world against Shinryu, who is now trying to devour the world. Chaos may be gone, but Shinryu remains a threat, and so he must be stopped! Will you aid me in stopping him from unleashing his wrath?" she asked Joker and Rabiyu with hopeful eyes.

Joker watched Lucius walk away, amusement in his eyes. He then returned his gaze to Cosmos and nodded.

"That is why I came, m'lady." He said politely. "Though, I fear are ranks run a little thin."

Cosmos nodded and put her hands together. "Yes, I realize we are outnumbered, but hopefully we can rally more warriors to our cause." she said as she walked over to Joker and Rabiyu. She looked to her right and saw a man clad in blue and yellow armor, long gray hair, with sword and shield in hand. Cosmos smiles and looked at him. "Ah, here is the captain of our troops, the Warrior Of Light." she said.

 

The Warrior Of Light stood there and looked at the new recruits then glanced at Cosmos, then turned his attention to the recruits once more. "I see, so you are the latest troops to join the fight. It will be an honor having you as comrades. Now come, we must rally the rest of the troops, for our first battle strategy is at hand." he said as he walked over with Cosmos ahead, where more warriors were gathered.

Rabiyu looked between Joker and Cosmos before noticing the new arrival."I see, so you are the latest troops to join the fight. It will be an honor having you as comrades. Now come, we must rally the rest of the troops, for our first battle strategy is at hand." Said the Warrior of Light."We may be outnumbered, but even if we have the odds against us, we must never lose hope."The young Huntress then followed the Goddess of Harmony, her faithful warrior and Joker.

As Lucius walked away, he saw the gathering group of warriors that surrounded Cosmos, and he stopped for a moment, considering going back to them, of possibly helping them in their cause, but then he second guessed his options.  "No...large scale conflicts aren't things I get involved in." he said to himself, and with that, he pressed on, leaving Order's Sanctuary and passing through unknown territory.  He didn't know what he would encounter, but he was well prepared for anything that came his way.  (Riku, Rabiyu, I need one of you to be a Descendant of Chaos warrior to start a battle with Lucius.  He/she, can be an existing Final Fantasy villain, or a completely new one from scratch.  Thank you!)

(Righto. I'll put something together in a bit.)"Ah, more things that stay the same." Joker thought once the Warrior of Light had been called."Well, I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be." He said aloud.He wasn't sure how much good he would be for rallying troops, as he had spent a long time now behind the scenes of his world. Maybe he could learn on the go."Even if we lose hope, my suggestion is to keep fighting." He added, a little cynically. "Better that then laying down and just letting the dragon win."

After having walked for a considerable distance, Lucius stood in place, wondering where he should go next.  The world was vast and ready for exploring, and he knew he had to find someplace where he could avoid all the conflict that was about to ensue.  And so he marched slowly through a dense forest, carefully shifting his eyes back and forth, being cautious and ready to attack at any moment, for with each step he took, he sensed a powerful presence looming near.  

 

Meanwhile, in Order's Sanctuary, the Warrior of Light, Joker and Rabiyu gathered alongside more comrades, and the Warrior of Light looked to both sides, and then he put his hand on his chest.  "My comrades.  I know this is a tough situation, no doubt one that will test our wills and our hearts, but we must not waver, for we have been chosen to carry out the salvation of this world!  We will not let it fall into ruin! Now, let us move out, and do all in your power to preserve peace!" he said triumphantly, and the other warriors, giving nods and shouts of approval, marched towards the great unknown, prepared for whatever came.

Rabiyu listened to the Warrior of Light's speech with some interest.

"The guy sure have a way with words." She thought. "And some of the others look strong."

"Now, let us move out, and do all in your power to preserve peace!"

That was the last thing Rabiyu heard from the Warrior of Light before the other warrior gave shouts and nods of approval.

"I guess this is it...Maybe somewhere along the way my memories will return to me."

Whispering those last words Rabiyu followed her comrades.

"Woohoo!" Yuffie cried into the wind, jumping into the air. Oh, the adrenaline, the excitement! How extraordinary it felt! The ninja was on top of the world. She sidled up next to the Warrior of Light casually, and struck up a conversation easily. "Pretty good at that whole speech thing aren't ya? I'd say it pumped me up, but I was already ready for anything that came at us." She spun a shuriken on her fingers like Globetrotter might a basketball. "After all, there is no danger that Yuffie Kisaragi, the White Rose of Wutai can't handle!" The young ninja said cheerily, before devolving into a fit of giggling.

{Lumina}

Behind Lucius, there was a soft giggle. If he looked back, he would catch sighed of a pick haired girl for a split second before she went behind a tree. Less then a second later, she came around another tree in front of Lucius, almost completely on the other side of the Wanderer from where she had first been seen. She was tsking and shaking her head.

"Bugging out on us already?" She half asked, half stated.

 

{Joker}

Joker remained impassive at the Warrior of Light's speech. He had heard many speeches of that sort on his world. Sometimes, the same one over and over. After a while, they lose their effectiveness. The former magic student looked around at the reaction to the speech.

"At least it is doing someone good." He thought, distantly.

Hearing Rabiyu's whispering, Joker speed up a little to be along side her.

"How much are you missing?" He asked her.
