It has been thirteen years since the final conflict between Cosmos and Chaos erupted.  Ever since the destruction of Chaos, a very fragile peace has followed.  But what awaits the world now, as a new threat beckons at its doorstep?  Will anyone be prepared for the arrival of Shinryu...?  Can the mighty dragon be stopped?  The fantasy begins now...

 

It's a cold and quiet summer evening, and the ocean waves gently crash on the shore.  The moon rides high and the town is ever peaceful, as people go about their daily night life.  Among the crowd walks a lone man, one that you could say, stands out from the crowd.  He seems quiet and stoic and he has clothing that would mark him as a solider.  His name is Lucius Sablewind.  The man always keeps to himself, closed from anyone who tries so much as to make contact with him.  He notices an inn nearby, and as he walks towards it, he sees the name of the inn up top.  "The Blazing Phoenix huh?" he says to himself.  With that, he enters the inn, and then he goes straight to the bartender and asks for a drink.  At the far end of the table, he sees a woman, no doubt a warrior, taking a drink herself.  He immediately took notice of the weapon she was wielding, and he stared at the weapon intently, wondering who could have forged it.

Rabiyu jumped high into the air and shot an arrow towards the last of her crystal clone."Last one." She said. "It may share my appearance, but not my skill."As she landed the ground began to shake."And here I thought we were almost done, but it seems I was wrong."In front of the Huntress a giant Antlion appeared it's pincers ready to hurt anyone who would get in it's way."My friends, we must fall back, we need to get to higher ground! This way!" Cecil said.Rabiyu was about to follow when Joker used a Watera spell on the monster to slow it down."Rabiyu! We'll leap frog out of here, taking turns slowing this thing down!" He said to the Huntress."Agreed!" She yelled. "I will shoot at it now!"Rabiyu pointed her bow at the sky and shot an arrow. The arrow disappeared in the sky for a couple of seconds before it came back, but not alone, somehow more arrows came raining down towards the Antlion.

Cecil helped Joker and Rabiyu slow down the Antlion by launching a crest of light that shot many beams of light in rapid succession, then he quickly switched to his dark powers and threw his sword like a lance, causing one of the Antlion's pincers to break, which made it considerably angry.  "My friends, now use all the magic attacks you can against it, in it's angered state, it becomes reckless, so its defense weakens!  Follow my lead!" he said, as he climbed up to the highest part of the trench and then he used his Haste spell to increase Joker and Rabiyu's speed so that they could be able to charge their magic attacks faster.  "There's no time to think things over, we must win this battle!" he said, signaling them to begin casting their spells.

As Rabiyu and Cecil hit the Antlion, Joker disappeared, reappearing up the tench lip.

"You are good!" He called to Rabiyu as he used a Thunder spell on the monster.

With Cecil's haste spell, Joker used it to his advantage to use a spell combo. He slashed out with his sword, casting Waterga at the Antlion, damaging and drenching the creature. He then stabbed the sheath of his sword down, casting a Blizzard spell, hit the Antlion and freezing the water around it.

Rabiyu jumped farther from the Antlion as Joker used his spell combo."Good job!" She said. "Now it's my turn."Thanks to Cecil's haste spell Rabiyu could gather mana faster than before. She put her hands close to each other near her chest and began to whisper while a small, rippling ball of light appeared between her hands. The Hallowed Father   The First Sire   Hallowed Father to all Eidolons who watches over his children from on high. His strength that has never known defeat.   Answer my call

Bahamut!The Huntress waved her hands and a magic glyph made of light appeared in front of her, and from it came the head of a large dragon."What? I can't...make a full summoning?" She thought. "This attack will be weaker than the usual one, but it may be strong enough to hurt the Antlion."The summoning creature opened its mouth and gathered energy into a small sphere of light for a few seconds and once it finished it shot a beam of energy towards the Antlion.

"Not in the slightest!" Yuffie replied with a smile. "You're lucky you even have a dream. I got nothin'. No passion, no goal, no dreams. Nada." Yuffie continued. Her words were somber, but her tone retained that light cheeriness. Most would call her naive with youth, but there were those that understood her attitude. No need to get upset about something that you can't control. "In any case, how do you think you'll be able to accomplish your dream? After all, we are kind of stuck here. Fighting without end, without purpose. There doesn't seem to be any roses at the end of this road."

After Joker and Rabiyu attacked the Antlion, Cecil leapt from the highest part of the trench and started to alternate between his Paladin and Dark Knight forms. "Light and darkness, cast aloft!" he shouted, as he threw his lance at the Antlion, then drowning it in dark spheres, and then transforming into his Paladin form, he strikes the Antlion with two clean strokes, forming a cross, and with that, the Antlion submerges into the ground, deciding it best to fight another day.  Cecil looked at his companions with great appreciation and admiration.  "You two are impressive, you have good skills." he said.  "Now come, we must not linger here, otherwise more creatures will come after us." he said as he continued walking forward.

 

Firion, on the other hand, was quite curious with Yuffie's answer.  She seemed to be quite strong for being a person without a dream.  "Well, I do believe everyone has a dream.  Maybe you've just lost sight of yours.  Or maybe you've yet to discover your dream.  And as for answering your question, I really don't know how I'll accomplish my dream of a world filled with Wild Roses and other kinds of flowers...but I think the best option now is to fight until the very end.  As long as I do not give up on my dream, I know that I'll be able to push through." he said with determination, hoping to inspire Yuffie to find her own dream to fight for.  He wanted to see if he could be able to give her a purpose.

{Joker}

Joker ceremoniously drew his blade across his sleeve to clean it, and replaced it in his scabbard with a reverse of the cleaning motion.

"Why can't there be a cute, fluffy dangerous creatures trying to destroy us?" He asked, whimsically. "It would at least make finding them more enjoyable."

He eyed where the Antlion had burrowed away. So it seemed here, too, odds were stacked against the heroes. He offered Rabiyu to go ahead of him as he followed after Cecil.

"If there was a cute, fluffy creature around" She said calmly. "Then I would be very, very worried for our safety. The most harmless looking creatures are often the most dangerous."The Huntress stared at the spot where the Antlion disappeared for a couple of seconds while thinking about her current situation."My summoning abilities are greatly diminished. The cause must be that I'm not in my home world and summoning the Aesir is rather complicated while doing it between dimensions."Rabiyu noticed when Joker offered to go ahead of him and she nodded in agreement."Good job back there." She said. "Your fighting style is interesting."

After exiting the trench, Cecil looked back towards Joker and Rabiyu and nodded at them with approval.  "You two have incredible skills.  You are very skilled fighters. Well, at the very least this battle helped you see what it is like around here.  We always have to remain on our toes." he said, as they walked through a clearing, and then suddenly, a bright beam of light radiated a few miles away. Cecil remained petrified for a moment, as if he had seen a ghost, and then he whispered under his breath: "Rosa?"  Almost immediately, he darted off in the direction of the beam of light, and he didn't even look back to Joker or Rabiyu.  (I could have sworn I had made this post yesterday. O.O  Unless I accidentally posted it in another rp.)

"You pick up a thing or two watching cycles." Joker replied amicably. He considered dismissing his blade for now, but took Cecil's warning to heart."We might experiment with trying to establish a better connection with your home." He offered to Rabiyu. "Maybe then you can better summon-"Joker stopped and watched Cecil run after something in the light. He sighed."1 will get you 2 that this is a trap." He said glumly to the Huntress before taking off after the Paladin.

heh, I know that feeling.

"That sounds useful." Rabiyu said at Joker's comment.While Joker was talking a bright beam of light radiated a few miles away and Cecil darted off."You've got to be kidding me." She said. "We just...Oh, nevermind."In a quick motion Rabiyu followed the Paladin and Joker, her bow already in her hand ready for any problem.

Cecil kept running, and he felt his heart race, for he was filled with both happiness and worry.  If it was indeed Rosa, he was happy were it to be her, but he would also be worried because she might be in horrible danger.  He kept running, feeling sweat run down his brow, and he looked back shortly at Joker and Rabiyu to make sure they were following, and when he was certain they were still there, he ran faster.  After a few minutes, he saw a small crater in the ground, and as he looked into the crater, he saw a woman of gentle skin, with white robes and a staff clutched to her hand.  The woman was unconscious, and Cecil immediately recognized her.  "Rosa!" he said aloud, and he quickly went towards her and checked her pulse, to make sure that she was still alive. He felt a pulse, and then he looked up to Joker and Rabiyu.  "My friends, I need your help!  We must take Rosa to safety!" he said.

Joker stopped at the edge of the crater and eyed the scene wearily. This didn't sit right with him.

"I'll give Cecil a hand." Joker told Rabiyu. "If you could proved cover if needed."

He didn't add that he thought that he felt certain that they would need her help. Dismissing his weapon, Joker joined Cecil by Rosa.

"If she appears stable, grab her and let's go. This feels too contrived."

Rabiyu nodded at Joker's comment.

"Alright." She said. "I'll take care of things if needed."

The Huntress took her bow and a few arrows while looking around, but also listening Joker while he looked at Rosa.

"Cecil knew her? Maybe she is part of his world."

At that same moment, a considerable distance away, an armor clad man stood on the edge of a cliff, noticing the warriors coming to the aid of the unconscious woman. "It seems that a new combatant has been brought to the cycle.  More and more of these warriors appear every day.  But of course, we aren't without our considerable numbers as well." the armored man said, glancing over his shoulder, as his soldiers were encamped behind him.  Monsters and evil men of many different lands had come to join in the cycle, and then, on the far side of the camp, he saw another armored clad man, his armor a light colored blue, and a woman, who had long blonde hair and black clothing, approaching him.  (riku, you be Exdeath, Elrandir, you be Barbaricia, she's one of Golbez's four Archfiends.  Now we're working on the villain scene for now.)

{Lumina}

Lumina pushed past Exdeath and marched up to the armored man.

"Of course there are more of them." She said. "Cosmos. Balance. There's going to be as many of them as there is us. That's how their side works."

She glanced back at the assembled Decendents of Chaos that were around.

"And they play nice together." She thought.

 

{Joker}

Joker was constantly checking for some sort of trap or ambush being sprung.

"I appreciate that this is probably a heart felt reunion, but can you it else where?" He asked Cecil. "Like, back with our lines?"

(I will make a post later today, but if it is alright I will make an OC instead of Barbaricia. Is that alright?)

(Alright Elrandir, make your OC then.)

 

Garland glanced at Lumina, and then he chuckled.  "Ah, you are the feisty warrior.  You crave for the sensation of battle as much as I do!  You have already had your taste in the front lines.  I am going to require your assistance again.  This time, I will need you to infiltrate Cosmos' headquarters, find out what her paws are up to." he said, making sure that he made himself very clear.  Exdeath simply chuckled. "Ha, our time to strike will approach soon.  Make no mistake about that!" he said, as he walked over to a corner.  Barbaricia smiled and twirled her hair with her finger.  "Ah yes, I can already sense it.  They are fearful.  And for good reason." she said. Garland simply focused his gaze towards the horizon again.

 

Meanwhile, Cecil, hearing the warning in Joker's words, nodded.  "Alright, let us take her to safety." he said, and so they headed back towards Order's Sanctuary.

{Rabiyu}The young Huntress felt something was very close, something dangerous."Affirmative. It is best if we go back." She said. "Something is not right.""Alright, let us take her to safety." Cecil said.Rabiyu took the rear and remained focused on their surroundings.{Ernst}The young blond and brown haired man wearing a brown cloak walked pass the armored warriors, the Archfiend and the pink haired girl."Indeed." He said flatly. "The Warriors of the Goddess of Harmony are smart if they are avoiding a battle against us."Ernst then sat on the edge of the cliff and opened an old-looking book he had with him, he then, began to write."I'm sure that, by now, they must suspect this whole situation must be a trap and will be going back to the Sanctuary."

{Lumina}

"Infiltrate the enemy's camp?" Lumina mused, grinning slightly. "That should be fun. I might even take out a few of the lady's lackeys on my way out."

She glanced out on the field as the others did. She wasn't as convinced as the others that things were firmly in there favor. She felt she had a better...insight into the heroes that made up Cosmos's army, and fear from them didn't mean too much.

 

{Joker}

Joker resummoned his sword and turned invisible as Cecil carried Rosa off to the Sanctuary.

"In this war, nothing is right." His voice said darkly as he went ahead of Cecil to watch for danger.

Exdeath gave out a cold hearted laugh and he crossed his arms, sitting on a boulder where a few soldiers had a tent pitched up.  "Those fools are blindly following Cosmos, not knowing that their actions will lead to their own self destruction.  It's almost sad, really. They may think they are safe now, but when the time comes, we shall show them that there is no safety as long as we live on to slay them!  And then all shall return to the Void!" he said rather confidently, seeing the soldiers and monsters tending to their work and forging weapons.  "So, what do you think shall happen in the battles to come?" he asked to Ernst, who was writing.

{Rabiyu}Something was bothering Rabiyu, something she could not understand."What's going on?" She thought. "Why am I so..."She noticed when Joker turned invisible."We must hurry. Something doesn't feel alright."{Ernst}Ernst stopped writing and looked at the armored man."The most obvious outcome is that both sides will lose members." He said flatly. "What we must do is to ensure that Cosmos' warriors fall while they are separated. That way we will have the advantage."He then looked to the direction of the Sanctuary."There is also the Goddess of Harmony. Perhaps we should just dispose of her at the first chance we get. I'm sure that without their leader, the warriors will fall apart."

Exdeath scoffed at Ernst, and then shook his head.  "You are a fool.  Do you not realize that Cosmos was already killed once, and even then, she did not truly die?  To kill her is a mystery.  We do not even know how to come around to ending her pathetic life." he said.  Garland then turned around and walked towards Exdeath.  "Nothing is certain or set in stone.  But Ernst is right.  We must dispatch our enemies while they are separate, that way, we shall indeed gain the upper hand." he said, clenching his fist.  "Come, let us get going now, we must mobilize our forces." Barbaricia said, and with that, they walked away from their current position, their soldiers following closely behind.

 

Meanwhile, Cecil could sense Joker and Rabiyu's uneasiness, and then he stopped when they were right in front of the entrance to Order's Sanctuary.  "My friends, it is all right now, we shall put Rosa in Cosmos' care.  I am sure that she'll be able to help her, I just know it."  Cecil said with a hopeful tone.
