My only Complaints about DS WiFi Going Down

Posted

These two games will now be impossible to complete 100%. Dragon Quest IX had a ton of quests and items that could only be gotten through WiFi, and Final Fantasy III's ultimate class could only be unlocked through sending letters over WiFi through Mognet. Now, both will be completely impossible to complete 100%. It really sucks for people like me who like to try to play the entire game, and see everything in it. (And I know that there are other remakes of FFIII, but my PSP is broken, and there's no way I'm getting the smartphone re-release.)

That doe suck.

The Nintendo DS remake of FINAL FANTASY III has been ported to PlayStation Portable (and thus can be played on PlayStation Vita), iOS, Android and Windows Phone. It's also available on the Amazon App Store and Ouya. Each version is in a higher resolution and has better graphics.

Did you even read all of what I said?

Get a PS Vita? Or play it on a tablet or Ouya.

inb4 comments bitching about how wifi going down will make people lose jobs and lives and other nonsense.

They can't just keep this running forever,it's been running for 8 years so people had way more than enough time to do all of this

the online service for the original Xbox was closed and so is the Ps2 online servers

And hey,at least now they can put the money for better online for Smash 4 on both versions and other 3DS and Wii U games

The PlayStation 2 version of FINAL FANTASY XI can still play online in Japan.

in Japan only not the rest of the world

Did I say otherwise? Lol?

Then why did you feel the need to correct me on that small little tidbit I didn't mention?

And that's the only game still working online and it's only working in Japan....there are things in the world outside of FF and KH

Because it's worth mentioning. And no one was talking about Kingdom Hearts. Lol.

Yeah, like the rest of the world's final PS2 game in FIFA 14. You might be able to play online on that version too.

I hate the Vita, I don't want to get it on a tablet, and I don't have any reason to justify getting an Ouya.

I never even implied any of that... I'm just saying that it's frustrating that I can't complete these games 100% anymore, and there are others who agree that it's annoying. When did I ever imply that this would be cause people to "lose jobs and lives and other nonsense"?

It's just one small optional item. If you wanted it badly enough you would have gotten it by now.

Why do you hate the Vita? You can play most PSP games on it.

My WiFi doesn't work with DS games. I'd have to find one that does, which I could do, but it would be tough to do so within just this month.

It's uncomfortable, and has no good games made specifically for it. I'd rather try to get my PSP repaired. Even then, I don't want to pay for the same game again just to do two things.

I didn't say you implied I meant the people who whined about that back when it was announced dude.

And I don't think it's super duper anger inducing frustration......people had 8 years to get the game while it's there and the PSP version of it is 9$ on PSN

I don't think they can keep running Wifi servers forever just for those two games and other games while they can put the money they're wasting on an outdated service like the Wifi they can put this money to improve their 3DS and Wii U servers so when people use online features in things like Bravely Default they won't get f***ed in the butt because of server issues

Also, they'll shut it in May not now so you still have enough time to finish those quests before that

the PSP has tons of awesome games especially in the RPG genre....there are other things you can do with it not just two things

I've read it,and I said that because the PSP nowadays is unbelievably cheap in price.....like,I can find one for less than 80$ if I searched enough

You clearly didn't read it completely. I said that my PSP is broken, and even if I get it repaired, I'm not buying another copy of Final Fantasy III just for two things. You jumped to the conclusion that I meant I wouldn't buy a PSP for two things.

I'm surprised that the DS online service is still online, it's been 8 years which is more than enough time. So your out of luck it's not the end of the world.

When. Did. I. Ever. Imply. That. It. Was. Horrible? I'm REALLY getting sick of everyone blowing what I said out of proportion. All I said is that I'm annoyed. -_-

Trust me I've read it.

Anyway,8 years was more than enough time to finish those quests, those money they're wasting on the outdated wifi servers are better spent on improving the online for 3DS and Wii U games.....unless people want what happened to Brawl's online to happen again in Smash 4 or Kid Icarus Uprising's online

As for the quests you can see them on youtube as I'm sure someone out there did it

Look, we understand your annoyance. But Nintendo aren't going to leave it up any longer so people can obtain one small, optional item in a third-party game that released in 2007. The Nintendo DS was discontinued awhile ago, and they gave a warning in advance with a fair amount of time left. They aren't going to leave up a service that big that hardly anyone uses and one that doesn't even work that well I might. If you're so desperate for that one item you would have gotten it by now or would get another version. And if not, it's just one item that you don't need. It's not like you're going to miss out on a platinum trophy or something similar because of it.

I get it. I GET IT. You can stop dragging this on now, I'll just ask to have this thread deleted. -_-

This thread is..... well..... it's locked now! It has deteriorated and the main objective of the thread was summed up in a thread. We all up to speed that the DS and its service are out-dated and now officially yesteryear's news? good
