Hey there everyone, how's it going? As you all know I had been playing Final Fantasy IV for the DS, and while I know it's an old game, I still want to give my review of it for those who are recently getting into the Final Fantasy series! So without further ado, here's my review! :D

So then, the game revolves around a young Dark Knight named Cecil, Lord Captain of the Baron Red Wings, who under orders from the King, has been tasked from retrieving the crystals from neighboring kingdoms, but the way they're going about it is unfair and unjust. After doubting the king's authority, he is relinquished of his title of Lord Captain, and so events are set in motion, in which Cecil aims to redeem himself of his past sins. I have to say, that in terms of story, this game delivers tenfold! The pacing is excellent, the various characters are amazing and have depth and life to them, and the locales are awesome! This game is like reading an epic fantasy novel. Personally, I wish this installment in the Final Fantasy series would be made into an anime. I would be so happy if that were to happen! x_x

In terms of gameplay, the combat is turn based, and it's very good for coming up with strategies to defeat the enemy! When you defeat enemies, you earn experience points and you level up and learn new abilities throughout the course of the game. You also obtain augments, which are extra abilities, which you can teach to your party members. And when it comes to world traversal, you have an overworld map, with castles and villages and caves that let you know of new locations. And when you go into caves or other such places, you travel through them, as they are dungeons with many treasures and enemies to defeat. The villages and castles you visit are filled with NPC characters to interact with, and everyone has something interesting to say, because if there's one thing I love about RPG's, it's interacting with the characters. The bosses are clever and hard to beat if you don't have a good strategy, so keep yourself on your toes! Oh, and later during the game, you get an airship with which to travel the world faster. :)

And also, an overall feature I love about the game is when you pause it, you see your character's thoughts. I personally think that it makes the characters in the game more believable, since you see what's currently in their mind. The music is breathtaking with one of the best Final Fantasy battle themes in the whole series, and the voice acting of the characters is superb! Overall, this is an amazing game that you cannot miss! It will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat! So get it as soon as you can, and if you don't have a DS, get it for PSP or IPad! Anyways, this was my review of the game, and well, FFIV is my absolute favorite game in the FF series, and it shall always be so! Golden out! :D

Final Fantasy IV was the first FF game I've ever played and it was the game that got me into the series

It's such a spectacular RPG that almost got everything right:Simple yet great story,Cecil is one of the best protagonists in the series, the gameplay is really fun and balanced and the game has the perfect length for replayability,it took me around 13 to 15 hours to beat it so it's not too short yet it's not too long at the same time

Also,Cecil's theme "The Red Wings" is freakin grand and epic
