Philips is Sueing Nintendo Over Wii Remote Plus Patent

Posted

Look, I understand Philips has no problem with their failure on the CD-i, and I've no clue what patent they have on the Plus technology, but if they ban Remote Plus sales in the US, it'll backfire on Philips for being a bunch of snobby douchebags who took away the more favorable Wii Remotes. Philips better watch it, it's no longer about the lawsuit, it's about the angry mobs of Wii and Wii U owners that'll be upset with Philips to no end the more well-informed they become of this situation.

Holy shit what's with the stupid dumbass lawsuits against Nintendo these days?

Last years two companies sued them for Wii Remote technology and failed, and now Philps want not only to ban the Wii Remote Plus, but to ban the Wii U from the US altogether?WTF are they high or something?

Can any douchebag sue companies these days and get money out of it,like wow NOW they noticed it after EIGHT F***ING YEARS OF THE WII'S RELEASE?

I hope Philps fail just like their CD-i and disappear forever

How would this affect Wii owners? Wii is dead. And if Nintendo is sued, Nintendo is loaded.

Cuz that means Wii Remote and Wii products won't be sold,so say if you're looking for a new Wii Remote to replace your broken one,you can't find it or find even Wii games.

And Philps doesn't want to only ban the Wii,they wanna ban the Wii U too which is stupid and assinine

two companies before them filled a similar patent about the Wii Remote last year and both failed and I hope Philps fails too

There are still Wii owners who purchase Wii Remote Plus for their Wiis.

Plus, that's a settlement and Nintendo can't afford a settlement for the pure fact that settling makes you look guilty of what was claimed against you.

If they are suing Nintendo for the technology used in Wiimotes and Wiimote plus, why aren't they also suing Sony for Playstation Move? It is not like there is much difference between both things, the big difference is that PSMove uses a camera, instead of the Sensor bar. The lawsuit is kinda suspicious, target Nintendo, but not Sony for motion controlled devices. Sony is a nice company and all, but it sounds suspicious, and I wouldn't be surprise, if they are working along with them, in this case, I guess we should know sooner or later, if they also target Sony for PsMove.

Sony and Nintendo are in good terms with each other,it's just Philps's lawsuit has no ground for it and it's total bullshit

if anything, the patent they filled applies more to the kinect than the Wii Remote

Speaking of Kinect, Philips could sue Microsoft and they'd just settle since they're purely American as a company.

That, and Microsoft is too big of a cooperation for Philps to sue,the cowards at Philps knows that they'll lose lawsuit against Microsoft since Microsoft is a giant electronic company not just a video game company and they can hire all the lawyers they want to make Philps lose.

So Philps thought that targeting a game-only company like Nintendo would be an easy target for them.I hope to God that Nintendo will win and that won't affect the release of Smash Bros 4 and other Wii U games

Sony actually respects Nintendo as a company. Many of the Sony dudes have said they need Nintendo to be around. So trying to screw them over wouldn't really benefit them.

I really have only heard stuff from the gaming area of Sony, though I really haven't heard anything from Kaz, himself. Even though, Yoshida, may respect Nintendo and have 2 Wii Us, who knows what Kaz thinks.
