Posted May 20, 201411 yr So I'm looking to get a Wii U since Mario Kart 8 is coming out, and I have some questions to ask you guys. Some info to keep in mind: I'm only interested in getting phyiscal copies of the games I'm not all that constrained with money I really don't want to buy a USB drive just to format it just for the Wii U I would rather have a white console I dodn't have a new or used preference So here are my questions: Is there any compelling reason to get a new console, or is a used one OK? If I don't want to download the games, do I need the extra 22 Gb? Thanks for your help!

Either one is fine just make sure it works most gamestops actually make sure the console works If u want to download games I suggest getting the 32 GB since games can take about 4 GB worth of space

If I don't want to download the games, do I need the extra 22 Gb? Thanks for your help! If your not downloading, you shouldn't need the extra 22GB's, but they're nice to use Used is OK, so long as you trust the dealer, you checked the machine yourself(Booted it up and checked for any damage to screen/other systems), it has the Gamepad and it's not for a bad price, but you can also get it new with the MK8 bundle they're gonna obviously release, but if you want the most bang for your buck, get yourself the Mario Bros U and Luigi U bundle, sell the Mario Bros U you get, if you don't want it and get some money back, if you do want it you get 2 games for 1. Sure it's black, but you can always just paint it or something. Yes, I'm serious. I like black, so it doesn't bother me, but I spray paint systems(Make sure to cover the vents and other open areas!) I don't like the color of, if I'm really that persnickety about it, and with that, almost guarantee yourself a working console(There are those rare occasions with every electronic that it won't work out of the box) and two new games.
May 20, 201411 yr Since the MK8 bundle's coming out, you might as well splurge on it considering you get a free game download anyway.
May 20, 201411 yr You should really get the Mario Kart 8 bundle, as you'll get the Wii U Deluxe system with Mario Kart 8, a Wii Remote, and the Mario Kart 8 Club Nintendo registration will grab you a code for another game, albeit digital. You can still purchase physical games, and if you purchase Digital-only titles such as Child of Light, you'll redeem points to purchase more things like Virtual Consoles and other digital purchases such as DLC. Not to mention, linking your account with your 3DS lands you the same eshop wallet, so purchases that redeem points for other purchases on Wii U, will add to that wallet fund that's usable on both Wii U and 3DS eshop. Only Deluxe console owners get this privilege. Basically, there are really amazing games that don't have physical copies for Wii U or other platforms if it's a multiplatform title ( i.e. Child of Light, Bit Trip Runner, Virtual Console), that you can miss out on big time if you dun want to make digital purchases. But by purchasing them, you gain points to redeem eshop credit with. Sony does this too, but unlike Nintendo, they give you less redeemable points than Nintendo. It could take hundreds of purchases on the PSN store to get one free game, while five small purchases on Nintendo's eshop may grab you two free titles. Edited May 20, 201411 yr by Hero of Winds
May 20, 201411 yr I'd say that you should get the Mario Kart 8 bundle that's coming soon. Also, while you can still get the bigger games as retail copies, I highly recommend checking out the eShop for download-only games. There are some really good ones on there (CoughEarthBoundCough).

You can get two games for the price of the Mario Kart 8 bundle as well. Registering the Club Nintendo code, grabs you a code to use to download titles like The Wind Waker HD (Probably the best choice on the list for NA region).

WWHD is easily the best choice for people who don't have it.

May 23, 201411 yr Author Thanks guys. I've narrowed it down to the referbished 8GB + game (which is $50 cheeper - yes I said money wasn't that big of an issue, but I have to consider my parents too) or the bundle. I just need to decide if the extra $50 is worth it for me.
