Hyrule Warriors Follows Traditional Zelda Voice Acting

Posted

Worried Hyrule Warriors was going to have full blown voice acting like other Dynasty Warrior games? Worry not, as we now have complete confirmation that won't be the case. However, that doesn't mean there won't be some voice acting, only that it will fall in line with traditional Zelda voice acting. Things like Hey, Listen!, or the gibberish from Midna. So, the game may feature more voice acting then we're accustomed to hearing, but it will fit within the tradition of the series (and this practically confirms text boxes. We all love text boxes...).

I figured this would be the case.  I mean, don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with text boxes, because with text boxes, you can actually imagine how the characters sound like, because if you had voice acting and it sounded bad, it would tarnish people's image of the Zelda franchise.  You know, I think it's one of the lasting qualities that defines Zelda as a franchise.  The fact that it doesn't have full voice acting.  To this day I really can't see Link speaking.  I just can't. The thing is, I have no problem with voice acting, so long as they dun give Link a full voice. We're supposed to be Link's voice. It'd really break the immersion if they took our voice away from Link.

None of those concerns even occurred to me, I usually have plenty of faith that Zelda will tend to stick to form in the modern day.

I wouldn't mind Zelda and Ganon having voices, but I see how it would be a problem if they didn't find the right actors.Though they could have given the 3 baddies voices in this since we'll probably never see them again unless they make a Hyrule Warriors 2.

They should've been as voice acting especially since it is hard to cut the excitement of fighting to read a text box as a Warriors fan, but I do understand Zelda fans and how it wold ruin the classic way of the way of speaking.

Yeah. Just look at how voice acting for Super Mario Sunshine turned out. It was very awkward for a Mario game.

Actually, they did it right though. They didn't give Mario a voice, but the major characters around him were given one. Sunshine's the best Mario I've played to date.

Yeah Sunshine's one of my favorite Mario games too. I mean, I know Nintendo wanted to try something new with the VA but I prefer the Mario games to be voiceless. But still, I didn't really mind the VA in sunshine all that much and won't mind if they do it again in the future.
