I always do these music topic posts. I can't think of anything else to post. Besides, I don't want to add to the already blooming KH3 topic's unless its relevant.

 

Anyway, worst remix of an existing game tune? This may be quite a hard one to do for some people but i've got one ready.

 

Nocturne in Sonic Chronicles is an absolutely dreadful remix of Big Arm from Sonic 3 that it's laughable, considering how good Cash Cash did it in Generations 3DS. I MEAN COMPARE THIS.

 

TO THIS. Well Sonic Chronicles was just a whole layer of awful.

Anyway do you guys have any that you despise? or to make this easier just any remixes/recreations of tunes in later games which you just simply preferred in the original (For example I like the overworld theme in the original LOZ but hate the recreation in ALTTP, those SNES trumpets man..)

I hate this remastered version of Seymour's theme. It just doesn't sound as epic as the original version.

Its not as horrible as the Big arm theme remix from Sonic Chronicles,but I can't stand the soundtrack of the PS1 version of Megaman X3

 

 

The SNES verions is so much better

Oh god, Sonic Chronicles's OST is a firetrucking piece of work. I usually never hate all of the songs in a video game (especially considering Sonic games, as bad as they are, tend to have some pretty sweet music), but there's literally no redeeming qualities about any of the songs in that one.Anyway, this is what I got:

I really hope this isn't indicative of how the remakes' version is gonna be, though I have a feeling that Sato and Ichinose kinda phoned in a lot of the PWT arrangements.

I could go on all day about how HGSS's OST isn't that good save for the new songs, but this is the worst offender. The gritty quality of the baseline in the original is completely absent, and that's a real shame. I could understand if it was something like how Ecruteak / Cianwood City got different arrangements and this was for Ice Path or something, but just... why?

Probabably the worst song in MOTHER 3, and it had to be one of my favorites from the original game. Ain't that a bitch?

It's terrible ain't it? I'm glad that the Generations mix did it justice, but Jesus Christ Sonic Chronicles butchered music. Coming from Bioware who made Mass Effect, which had ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE MUSIC such as Leaving Earth from ME3.

How did I miss it in Chronicles? Then again, I was concentrating more on defeating the bosses quickly than listening to the music. And that right there is a flaw: a good game would have players enjoy both music and bosses at once. What was Sega thinking?

I couldn't honestly beat Chronicles, extremely boring and just down right ugly game. The battle system was pretty boring and it being purely stylist controlled was annoying.

Haha awesome! I'm usually like that but if I'm bored by a game I'll just forget about it, Sonic Chronicles was boring to me and to me a boring game is worse than a bad game (at least with a game like Sonic 06 and Ride to Hell, you play it because of how bad it is that it can be amusing) with boring games there is nothing to enjoy and therefore I can't get back to it.

Honestly I actually beaten chronicles. So I must be one of the surviving players.

 

I didn't had earphones at the time, so I never heard the sound in the game. Gameplay and story was alright though. Not the best, but ok.

 

I never heard a bad remix of an existing tone before (but I heard bad remixes of songs though), but then again, I, for some reason, don't pay attention to sound when I play games unless it hooks me.

That's a cool trait to have to be fair! See things through to the end, wish I had that in some cases haha!
