They cannot stop us. You cannot stop us. You shall watch them climb our mountain but as you wait in vain for them return it shall slowly become clear to you who the gods of this world truly are.

 

Introduction

 

Hey there folks, MDSVeritas here. I've been known for some of my previous original RPs The Experiment and Echoes and Ash. I like original ideas and RPs that push strong character involvement and development with a solid setting and plot to boot. As such I've developed a new RP concept in the way of Evraius. There's a plot intro below you can read, but for a quick explanation, Evraius is an original fantasy RP focusing on magic and godhood.For those familiar with my RPs it is my hope to return to more of the open-ended possibilities of The Experiment while still maintaining a sense of direction so that we can tell an awesome story together. You can read the plot intro and rules below and apply as soon as possible!

 

Plot

 

The world has always had magic since as early as any person can remember or any book will tell. Many cannot make great use of it, but some people are able to funnel their magic potential into elemental abilities, brute force, at-will-creation and much more. With these abilities as a baseline human civilization has flourished all over the world. The greatest example of this is in the largest kingdom in the world: Teragren, which has lived in relative peace for decades. Teragren takes up most of the primary continent that makes up the world, with the other two major forces being the smaller-but-tough Republic of Fenduril and the notorious and closed off Military State of Vedik. Through magic human civilization has flourished.

 

Magic is not the only thing that has existed for as long as one can remember, however.

 

Within the borders of Teragren, in a closed off no-entry zone is the singular mountain known as Evraius. Evraius is, from appearance, an absolutely normal mountain, with forests, rocky outcroppings, and sheer cliffs. The significance of Evraius is those who live there: the Kamyn. Meteor storms, floods, sudden destruction on the scale of an entire city; the Kamyn are capable of all of these, and they have done each at least once. Some call the Kamyn gods, but their power has only ever brought destruction. Villages, cities, and sometimes small countries can be wiped out easily by the Kamyn. Their actions come only every few years, but like clockwork they return. Some hail them, but every major country has stuck to neither acting against them nor commending them. What the Kamyn want, how they came about, and even just who they are is mostly unknown.

 

The Kamyn have only communicated to the human countries through their supposed leader: Adriev, who has appeared as a fully robed humanoid figure who proclaims the actions of the Kamyn just before they occur. It is speculated there are only 3 or 4 Kamyn total if that.

 

In the past year, though, one of the main cities of Teragren, was completely leveled with a meteor storm brought about by the Kamyn. Now for the first time humanity is acting out against them. Teragren's king has called out for any volunteer to step forward to try to bring an end to the Kamyn. Due to the uneasy terrain of Evraius no army can traverse it, so it must be adventurers who step forward to attempt the task. These people have assembled from various places and for various reasons, but to defeat to the Kamyn they must come to know each other, and trust each other through the trials ahead.

 

One problem though. Among the traveling party is suspected to be one or more assassins hired by the Military State of Vedik to steal the powers of the Kamyn and kill all who get in the way, including the other adventurers. The Kamyn have their own ideas too...

 

Summary: In a fantasy world of magic potential a group of volunteer soldiers climbs the mountain of the gods to topple the cruelest deities you've ever known.

 

Rules

 

--One character per person is recommended, two characters is the max. This is a story about character's interacting in a story that involves them all, so I'm trying to keep the interaction between players, not just between characters of one player.

--Romance is totally fine, just nothing above a PG-13 level.

--The potency of your magic power is up to your discretion but I have final say and powers needs to be balanced.

--No assuming any action for another player. Leave every attack you do open to whether it hits or not. On the same vein, do not make your character super strong, fast, or powerful that they cannot be beaten. Take some hits sometimes.

--You may only post three times in the RP between when I post. For example; if I make a post about what goes on, you may only post three times until I post again. This is to keep the RP at a fair pace for everyone.

--Try to keep out of character discussion in this thread so the RP thread won't get too bogged down.

 

 

 

Character Creation

 

Sound interesting? Good, because it gets better. More than just having all players against an NPC character I control, I wanted to get more player-to-player interaction, even in the story. So along with being one of the few who is set to climb Evraius, you can also choose two other options: to be one of the Kamyn or on of the Vedik spies. Here's some simple parameters for the three possibilities.

 

Kamyn

Slots open: 0 Left (With enough signups, I will add another Kamyn slot)

Role Description: You will work with me and other Kamyn players to impede the climbers through direct combat, environment challenges, or impossible choices. You will also get the top-secret info on who the Kamyn truly are and why they have their powers immediately as opposed to learning it through the RP like the others do.

 

Spy

Slots open: ???

Role Description: You will act as a climber until the time you feel it is right to make your move against the Kamyn and Climbers. If you want to be a spy, please put "Climber" as your role and message me, that way you won't be sure who to trust. I also won't reveal how many, if any, spies there are

 

Climber

Slots open: Infinite

Role Description: You are one of the volunteers who will attempt to climb Evraius and topple the Kamyn who have ruled the world with fear for too long. Your reasons are your own.

 

I've created on original fantasy world here, so feel free to get creative when designing your character's backstory, don't be afraid to think outside the box.

Well there you have it. I know this is by far by longest RP OP, but I wanted to try something unique, different, and interesting, and I felt like it could use some world building to do so. The swords effect works on contact i never said its span was limitless and who the hell ever said tristan was in a corner what kind of idiot would try and aggravate someone while in a corner and you clearly arent looking into things deep enough i've said a number of times that theres something to Tristan nobody else knows yet theres a reason behind him trying to aggravate people at this moment in time and yes i know the world of Evraius next to nothing was known about the Kamyn but that doesnt mean nothing was known some people only need a small amount of information to come up with a counter to another existence also for someone who claims to know so much about elements your a bit sloppy with your metals if you carbonize a substance it wont rust and once again i never once stated Tristan's blade was made of metal hence it might be a material that does not rust and you dont need god like speed to out run an attack like the one your claiming to perform a simple side step with the right timing is enough to dodge something like that any day and earth or in other words rock if your saying someone cant outrun that damn rock does not move unless someone or something makes it earth alone only moves because of the gravity of the sun without that the earth would be a motionless rock rock only moves as fast as the force moving it in other words Sandrew is the force moving that particular piece of earth it can only move as fast as he can make it as long as tristan can out run Sandrew he can out run the earth he moves

Your post literally hurts my brain. Quite literally in almost every sense of the word. As I read this i got a headache. I'm not arguing this anymore because literally your argument is that I'm being OP when literally I've done nothing to harm you, done nothing to change your phisical abilities or powers or strength of even damage you, all I've done is try and get you to firetrucking stop being a duck by showing by example. Also, that "carbonkzatikn" fact is false. All metals can rust unless their chemical makeup dose not allow for oxidation. Carbonization makes metals much harder to rust, but it's impossible to make a metal that can rust completely unable to rust unless you remove all oxygen in the area so it cannot oxidize. Besides, what dose that have to do with anything? I brought it up as a way for materials to change, not that the blade itself will rust. It had nothing to do with it other than being an example of how an objects chemical composition can be changed to make it weaker. As well as, what other martial would you make a sword out of? What other material can hold an edge like metal can but also be anything close to unbreakable? I'm not going to contenue this discussion. You're literally upset over my character trying to force you to stop being an absolute pick. Your sword isn't broken, I had placed the edge back and it's literally like nothing happened whatsoever other than Sandrew showed of his powers and threw some threats that he can't deliver on to try and tell Tristan "Dude, stop being a dick". That's what your upset over. /rant

Okay folks, so let's tackle this head on.

 

First thing; insulting, swearing at, or demeaning other roleplayers is not cool. We're all human, we all get to points like that, I understand, but it doesn't make it right, nor does it make the other roleplayers in this RP feel very comfortable interjecting in the situation.

 

Second, I know you both have some grievances to bring up, I understand. The specifications of your powers can be tough to always equate to the RP situations that all others feel are fair. The point I'd make here is that honestly, the specifications of how your powers work aren't nearly as important as making sure that you're using them in ways that allow other players to feel like they are interacting with you on equal ground, or at least have the capacity to oppose or interact with you without being utterly outdone. In this way, I think you both were moving a little bit quickly in terms of what your characters were doing. It happens all the time, and I do it a ton too, but please don't draw it out into a debate, especially one that gets angry. Both of you have well done characters, powers, and specifications, so neither of you need to worry about how I feel about your characters and powers. Still, RPing is all about giving ground to the other person, even when the situation doesn't always clearly dictate it. RPing is a social thing above all, and it should always be about how you're interacting with other players, not nessecarily about your character's ability, backstory, or the general plot of the story itself.

 

I'm not taking direct sides here. You both had fairly substantially strong power uses there, and I see why both of you may have seen fit to use them, but also why the other felt it may have been unfair. Luckily I was already quite close to introducing a new element to the story, so I'm going to do that now, which should eliminate any current issues.

 

As far as the RP canon is concerned, I'm going to make it so your characters interactions only made to here:

 

 

Sandrew, at this point, completely lost it. "The reason I want to do this is because I'm tired of seeing the people I care for in danger and being unable to help!" He yelled at this incarnate. "I don't care if he never can come back, he was my friend and that's all that matters! And since you're all that's left of him, I would rather die than see the last bits of him fade away into nothing!" Sandrew screamed. Then he looked at Tristan. "You best shut your firetrucking face before I rip your goddamn blood vessels out of your body and force feed them back down your throat!"

 

Tristan smirked at Sandrew as flames began to form around Tristans hands "I'd like to see you try you walking corpse I'll cremate you long before you can even touch me so if you feel like you can back up your words come at me I'll happily take you on I'm bored out of my mind over here and it seems like you need to blow off some stem same as me so how about it feel like trying to shut my mouth or are you just one of those all talk types"

 

I apologize for moving the timeframe back so much, but that should pretty fairly undo all the major power-uses between your characters. I'll have an RP post up momentarily.

 

We're all here to have fun guys, I know sometimes it can be frustrating, but these people all want to tell an awesome story just like you, we need to make sure we're collaborative and understanding about that stuff.

YeahI'mSorryAboutThisBut.... Ya see, Drale's watch is now NOT an A. I. It's sole purpose was to house Dr. Vay Lea's consciousness. Now that Vay is here, it's a proper watch. I believe in one of my posts, I said something about it starting to tick. 

 

Edit: Let me rephrase, as I realized I wanted to say something different. The watch was more or less a fail-safe device in case, oh I don't know, an experiment to give ones self control over nanites goes horribly wrong, leaving him with his powers, but no memories. Just an example.
