At four points around the mountain known as Evraius the Teragren captains went over the situation once more to be sure there was no confusion; this was a volunteer mission, there was a high risk of death, and once the climbers passed the Teragen gates onto the premises of Evraius they were no longer under the protection of the Teragren army, and nobody would help but the rest of their team members.Of the 19 volunteers that passed the test to be accepted into the Evraius mission there were now four teams, each of 4 or 5 people. The army had brought them to the four gates that separated Evraius from the Kingdom of Teragren. The strategy was that they may be more effective if they could split the Kamyn attention and thus have a better survival rate. Now the four teams sat at their respective gates, facing the world changing mountain that would be their future; Evraius. The teams were split up in the following ways:Gold Team, made up of Drale Vay, Amber Dolor, Cornelius Bastion, and Sandrew.Silver Team, made up of Sonya Bishop, Kinzoku Mors, Averain, and Jasper SummersIron Team, made up of Alice Thornsberry, Emert Berger, Morgan Etiam Vinctum, and Doctor Pellinore WartropPlatinum Team, made up of Apollo, Lance Alburght, Varion Hain, Fairy, Aya Kozakura, Sairi KozakuraEach of the gates rumbled opened painfully and slowly, with a history of destruction and cruelty beyond their metal bars."Okay." Each captain spoke to the respective teams as they mounted their horses once again and steered back toward the road."You all have 5 minutes to greet your new teammates and enter the gates. The magical locks will automatically close them again after that point. There won't be any returning until you have something substantial to return with." The gist of each captain's parting words were. They had all rehearsed together so the information would be similar for each group. It also helped mask the fear.And then each group was left alone, each with a gate and a beaten dirt path beyond it sitting before them. It was time to start the introductions and get going.It was time to start the climb.Watching every gate through spectral projections, Adriev pondered. He stood in a pure white room with 5 others. After watching the four teams for a few moments he turned to his peers: Efenton, Girver, Dante, and Vortimer. Only one was missing."So..." He spoke slowly, weighing every word. "What shall we do about this?"

Jasper

Jasper summoned his crossbow, and pointed it at Aya. "Look, we don't need to beat each other up, you two. If you both want to keep going, we can discuss doing so like civilized adults." he said. Normally he wouldn't turn on an ally of his so quickly, but something seemed wrong about Aya. He was almost certain she had goals of her own once she reached the peak of the mountain.

Varion:

"Gack!" Varion emitted a loud cry of pain as he fell over. He quickly jumped back up and twirled around. Her brother was invisible. That made for a nasty opponent. At least he wasn't so now. Varion glared at him, pounding his fists together. What was once the rash, hot-headed young man was replaced by something a bit more serious.

"Are you sure you want to mess with me? Just because you've got invisibility doesn't mean I can't get you." Varion snapped.

"Three people vs. Two...how unfortunate." Aya said.

"Too bad. You are going to have to figure out which one of these duplicates is the real me, and you have to go find Sairi. Trust me, even I can't find him sometimes. He is quick, just like me." Aya said with a smirk.

Sairi stepped back from Tristan's sword, and Aya's numbers only became larger. The real one was definitely among them however. Sairi hid back into invisibility.

"Since you guys are using your swords...we can use our powers." Sairi said rather quietly.

"But I can't do much without giving away location..." the boy thought.

All the Aya's drew their swords, however, only one sword was real. They all were ignited with Sairi's flames, but only one flame would do the damage.

Her tiger form fading, Sanya's rabbit form sprung to life. Like a flash she moved, sliding in front of Emert.

"Take my ashes with you." Was all she said as the blade pierced her chest, and blood flowed over her lips. She didn't edpect it to hurt that much...she'd been impaled before. Dozens of times. Hell, defapitation hurt less.

The magic propelling this blade...she felt the malice. It ate away at her fortitude, it dragged her down to despair.

As she fell back, tears welled. Was this finally how she died? Doing what she honestly should have let happen?

"Am I going to finally die?" She managed to say, as she fell backwards, her bloody rabbit tail folding and fading, as her magical connection to the rabbit cut. Burned and reforged in rebirth, each animal she bonded with froze. This death...it was like a final death.

Was it?

Varion:

"Fine then." Varion hissed, slamming his hands into the ground. Spikes rose up from the earth and rushed to impale many of the clones. With that, a protective shield of earth formed around Varion to protect him against Aya's brother. Varion would ensure that Sairi wouldn't so much as touch him.

"Everyone else," He shouted, "Back away! Fairy, get away from the door and behind the others!"

Emert:

He had been ready to deflect. Or...if worse came to worse, take the sword head on. He recalled the girl wanting to be the sacrifice before, but hadn't expect her to take the blow for him. Emert's eyes widened a bit--a true human reaction this time as he let go of his sword.

"Why did you do it?"  He whispered, watching the rabbit Sanya collapse. She wanted this....did she have some plan? Only those who had some trick or had nothing to lose would dare play with Death. These Kaymn.....taking a life was nothing to them.

Grabbing the wrapping around his sword Tristan ripped it off "Seems I'm the worst opponent you could ever end up against not only can i absorb flames but i can cancel out any form of magic with my sword The Rune Sword any contact with it and it will cancel out any form of magic even a Kamyn's" Nudging towards Jasper and Varion Tristan spoke before taking off "Careful you two before we arrived for this mission i heard rumors about Spies sent in from different countries who sent in fighters to try and steal the Kamyn's powers theirs a high possibility these two are some of them possible spies" After saying that Tristan took off at high speed slicing through a number of the clones until reaching one and grabbing it by the face raising the clone slowly while squeezing on its face the flames around its body began to vanish and wrap around Tristan and then around his sword finally letting go of the clone Tristan finished with by slicing it in two flames spun around both Tristan's body and his sword "A combination of both my own flame magic and what i just absorbed from that clone Sairi you may be invisible but now you cant get close to me without getting cut or burned so lets see how long you can hold on before i find you and cut you"

Aya and Sairi both showed their true selves, Aya holding her hands up and Sairi looking at the ground in disappointment.

"What the hell are we going to do now....?" Aya thought.

Varion and Tristan had something that Aya and Sairi did not...they had stronger bodies, and stronger powers.

"If beating us because me and my brother are truly weak, if that was your destiny here and now, then so be it. I myself declare defeat, however..." Aya said, then looking at her brother.

"We still have power in us." Sairi said, a ball of flame head towards Varion.

Aya had her sword drawn, and she was quickly at Tristan's throat.

"Lets get this fight over with." Aya snapped.

Jasper

Jasper sighed, and fired his crossbow straight at Aya's back. He didn't want to do it, but what choice did he have, these two were truly traitors. Or at least, that's how it seemed.

Amber

"I understand, Sandrew." Amber said, although a part of her wanted him to take the punishment along with her and the others. She then took a deep breath, and calmed her mind. This wouldn't be her first experience with intense pain. She'd have to calm her mind, and focus on an old happy memory of hers. Perhaps then, she could ignore most of the pain and be ready to fight once the paralysis wore off. She began to visualise an old memory she had of her father. It was the two of them playing catch together when she was five. [i'm not dying here. Not yet!] she thought adamantly.

Sanya hit the ground, some blood splattering. It began to pool around her, and she paled quickly as her blood left her. She looked to the judge.

"Death refuses to take me." She said simply. "Take my ashes...take whatever is left of my clothes...in case death decides to deny me entrance."

She looked at the ceiling as her eyes seemed to dim. "Those who wish for immortality are fools."

Sanya's feet caught fire, and the flames traveled up her body.  As she sighed, her eyes closed, and with a bright flash, Sanya Bishop's body erupted, her body consumed by fire until nothing but ash remained...but the ash, as if sensing it needed ro move, gathered into a pile, and the bits of Sanya's clothing that survived was left on the floor.

Aya immidently fell to the ground in pain. She slowly began to realize what she has done. These people trust her and actually cared for her, she was their friend. But, a little competition stood in her way, and she lost. Now they just think that her and her brother are traitors, monsters, spies for Gods sake. But, they both knew, that they shouldnt have snapped, because it just wasnt true.

"Aya!" Sairi yelled, rushing over to his sisters side.

Aya looked to her brother.

"I've lost, Sairi." She simply muttered.

Sairi started shaking his head, backing away from Aya, and turning to look at Jasper. There were tears in the boys eyes but fire forming around the boys hands.

"You werent supposed to shoot her....the Kaymn just wanted someone knocked out, incapacitated, but you want to have my only sister killed?!" Sairi yelled.

Aya sat up slowly, well, the best she could. Her clothes were bloody now, her heart shattered.

"Dont hit anyone else, Sairi. If they think we are spies, then let them think that. We know that is false. I simply let competition get the best of me." Aya said to her brother.

Sairi's fire died down soon enough, he looked at the people around him.

"At least let him pass through the door if I cannot. I want to give him a chance." Aya said seriously.

Sairi turned to look at his sister, she was laying on her stomach and had managed to gather the bravery to pull the arrow from her back.

Sairi shook his head, looking at Aya.

"A-Aya, no...I still want to be with you." Sairi muttered, going towards Aya.

"You need to advance on with the others, are stay behind and both of us br dead, them still thinking that we are spies." Aya said seriously.

"I'd rather die with the person whom I love and care about then them have to suffer on their own." Sairi said, a slight blush was on his face.

Aya simply smiled, looking at her brother.

"Big sis loves you too." Aya muttered, sitting up and hugging her brothers neck.

At that moment, she fell unconscious, Sairi placing her on the ground.

Sairi stood up, and walked over to Fairy slowly.

"Im not going to hurt you...I just have a question." Sairi said, looking up at the woman.

"Even though you think me and my sister are monsters now...we arent. So...please, heal my sisters back." Sairi plead.

(I cant sleepppp)

Fairy frowned. "I'll heal her.....but I need your help. I can't heal her with the arrow in her." She grabbed some medtape."Then I'll wrap her. When I do,press the wound as hard as you can. I can heal her faster if she isn't bleeding. Can you do those things? " She let off a shaky sigh then walked over to Aya. "No one dies on my watch. Let this be a lesson learned. No more fighting against each other. Now hurry boy." She readied herself.

Jasper

[Well then, considering the circumstances, I think things have gone pretty well.] Jasper thought, "Pulling out the arrow will just cause more damage. I'll do it." he said, and pressed the button on his crossbow Longshot. Suddenly, the arrow disappeared and came back into the crossbow's compartment. He then walked over to Sarai, "Sorry about what I did to your sister. I only wanted to stop the fighting quickly so we could get back to discussions. Besides, if I wanted to kill her, I would've aimed a little higher." he said, and began considering which team he should join, [Whatever choices we make, should be for the good of the team, not just ourselves as individuals.] he thought.

"Dramatic wasn't she?" The Doctor said, as the girl burned to ashes at the judge's feet. The Doctor wasted no time moving forward, and kneeling down next to the pile of ashes. He dug into his bag and pulled out a sampling bag. He quickly put the ashes of the sacrificial lamb into the bag, then stood up as he sealed it and placed it back in his bag. Seeing some slightly weird glances from around the room, the Doctor spoke up again. "She said to take the ashes, correct? Besides, we much keep moving if we are to ever make it to the top. I would have preferred to solve the problem," At this, the Doctor glanced towards Cathos. "But evidently, the Kamyn are insisting that we continue." The Doctor continued, as he brushed off some dirt and ash from his pants. He pulled off his gloves, and pulled another pair from his bag, and put them on. A good scientist was never without a good pair of gloves. "If anyone is hungry or thirsty, speak up now, I am able to conjure up some bread or water for whoever needs it before we start off again." The Doctor said, his strictly business tone slightly disturbing considering the recent events.

One thing was still bothering him though. That girl's last words. Those who seek immortality are fools. Was he being so ridiculous to try and memorialize himself in the minds of people? No monster or man would make him flinch, but the idea of being left alone, broken and forgotten, dead or alive, terrified him. The Doctor held his steely posture and expression despite the inner turmoil.

~~~~~
Well, that escalated quickly. Kinzoku hadn't dared move yet, in fear that the curse might take the chance to take over. But now was no time to stand around. The Mage knelt next to Aya's dying body, and felt the magic power she was exuding. Yes, very much still alive. Kinzoku stood up and glanced towards Jasper. "I agree. Your sister will not die if we leave her like this, but if we heal her than she may go berserk again. I hope you understand. In any case, I would like to go with the proceeding group. In that case, if my curse activates, then there will be more people with the ability to stop me, but if I go with the other group, then if the curse activates their trial will be that much more difficult." Kinzoku said, trying to reason, and keep the situation from escalating again.
Fairy shook her head."No I'm helping her no matter what. Also,I think her has to be another way to open the door. Aya,I'm going wrap up your wond. It's going to sting."She bent down to Aya. "There has to be a way to trick it if not." She started to wrap it around Aya."I'm just trying to slow the bleeding. Also it makes it safer for me to heal. Now Sairi,press on the area as hard as you can. That way I can only worry about the healing." She closed her eyes.
Sairi pressed on the wounded area of his sisters back, a slight smile on his face. He didn't want to see his wounded sister, so he looked to the others.
"T-Thank you guys, I am truly sorry." Sairi said seriously.
He then looked to Kinzoku.
"If she even tries to go crazy like that again, I will definitely stop her."
looking to Fairy and the others as they helled Aya Tristan began to re-examine the current task at hand "Hum i wonder if i take into consideration the fact the door will begin to close after five people pass through the door way and the fact four must be out cold for the door to open in the first place hum a strategy like that may just be possible" thinking things over in his mind quickly Tristan looked to the others "hey guys i just came up with a rather obvious solution i think Adreiv's said for that door to open we need four of use to be passed out also once five people pass through the door the door will close by why not do it like this knock four people out then have another four carry the four knocked out then the five who are still conscious could make a run for the door all at once while carrying the unconscious members of the party that way even with the door closing after five people if everyone passes through before the door before it has a chance of closing doesn't that defeat the Kamyn's plan of only letting five of us get through"
Varion:
Varion dispelled the alchemy, letting what was his ground-based shield return to the earth. All that remained of his alchemy were small etchings in the earth. He sighed, walking to the brother and sister. They couldn't be spies, he knew that much--and he somehow felt pity on them.
"Why'd you attack me?" He asked, kneeling before Sairi. He allowed Fairy to do her work, but his dark eyes never wavered, "I'm not gonna do anything--the fight's over. But why? The Kaymn's commands?"
Emert:
Emert got up and glanced at the Doctor. So they had past the Kaymn's test. Someone was dead. Hopefully that satisfied the damn gods. Emert was sure to add that to an ever-growing list of things he was using as fuel for why he was doing this quest.
"I am fine, for the most part."
"Since Aya attacked you, I thought I could. I was only helping her out." Sairi said seriously.
Sairi then looked at Tristan.
"That sounds like a pretty good idea." he said with a slight smile.
"I think that plan may yield dire consequences" He had been silent up until this point.
"The Kamyn won't make it so easy. The question I think is, which team gets to send 3 members onward, and which can only send 2." He spoke to both teams stepping forward
"I propose the flipping of a coin. Who ever wins gets to send 3 and whoever loses can only send 2. After that it will be up to each team to decide who advances and who stays behind. At this point it's impossible to know who's a traitor or not, so it won't just be a matter of sending the strongest forward. That's too risky."
He said as he pulled a rather large coin from his pocket. On one side it had the likeness of a king of old. On the other it had a castle with seven stars above it.
"Since Platinum attacked first, Silver should choose either kings or castles."
Fairy began to heal Aya."A coin flip?! You're insane! I pity thee! Just put your coin away and it's five moving on,not three or 2. You need to listen. We need to think smart. Now Tristan(hope I got that right)had a great idea and we'll try his out. " She said sternly. "Varrion mind getting me some water? This is a harder heal than I thought." She gave a nervous laugh.
"Yes, and annihilation you shall come to.." Ryu folded his arms as he watched the group descend from the storm. "So the lapdogs of Adreiv come to confront me?" Ryu smirked. He was in no way afraid of any other Kaymn and would make the first strike. However, he kept his arms folded and awaited their next course of action."Well hello gentlemen," Ryu started. "Care to chat for a few or get down to battle?The choice is yours."
"You know why We're here....and for that,we shall skip the reasons and have an exhilirating battle!" Duke roared as he then,swing his Blade on Ryu,hoping to get a hit as that Blade possess an imminent Power of illusions and reality...
Edited by Hazimie
As the sword came close to Ryu's body, he released a powerful wave of vibrations from his arm. Thus slowing down the swing and disrupting the magic within the blade. "I know your powers already Duke. However, I don't believe you've ever tried to study mine," Ryu said as he caught the sword in mid-air. He then sent powerful waves of vibrations through the sword and into Duke's body. "Disrupt!" Ryu smirked. He knew what he had done. "Your ability to use magic has been paralyzed as I have disrupted your bodily functions to activate such the phenomenon," Ryu explained to Duke.
Ryu then floated away a few steps from the three. "You see gentlemen, my ability could put me on the same level of Adriev, had I known his weakness. Vibration is everything! Triggering weather, disrupting bodily functions, or even creating shockwaves is no problem for me!" Ryu shouted.
"You're going to have to be a bit smarter when you're fighting me, Ryu the Accursed," Ryu smirked.
"Unfortunately.....i've come prepared..." Duke said as his body was faded after being hit by the vibrations.Suddenly,a mirage of horrendous group of black dragons that was exactly like Duke appear before him,all for one traitor."Can you withstand the pain of reality!?We,the ones living in a shadows,shall take you down will all our might!!" All the black dragons roared loudly with might as they swing again with it's sword one more time.
Ryu sighed. It seemed as if the other three were just watching and waiting for their turn. "You still don't understand the depth of my power do you?" Ryu said. Without looking up or turning his back, he let out one huge vibration wave extending far beyond his position, destroying the illusions and blowing Duke back because of the force it carried. "Anymore games before I get sort of serious?" Ryu asked the fellow Kaymn.
Gold
"Good choice Sandrew, good choice." It was Adriev.
The electricity arcing between the remaining four then focused on Sandrew, and much of the energy taken from the others, was then directed into Sandrew's being, recharging his abilities and giving him new found strength. after that he was released from the electric cycle. It continued to sucks energy from the remaining three for a few more seconds, and then turned off entirely.
Drale, Amber, and Cornelius were all left badly hurt, more or less paralyzed with some minor movement and the ability to move their head and speak, and a temporary loss of their powers.
"Now for the first of a few trials to see if you really did this for you companion's sakes."
On the far side of the white room they were in that had once looked like a grove there appeared several machines that came out of the walls and activated to create a zigzag of super-heated magic beams. This wall of heated magic beams then started to moving down from the far wall to the other side of the room... straight through the path of everyone on team gold.
"They will be cut apart very easily if the lasers reach them. There are three of them, though, and only two of you, so either you leave one, or one of you two left with your powers better think up a good strategy...."
The wall of lasers began to speeding towards the group...
Iron
Without any word, the door before Iron team opened, and the gas being pumped into the room was pumped back out.
On the other side of the door was something terrible; a room full of skeletons. It seemed to have been a large meeting room, with various tables and old scrolls around it. Now it seemed menacingly ominous, with hundreds of dead huddled inside. On the other side of the room from where Iron was was an unlocked door to go through after they had scoured the room. In the center of the room was what almost seemed like a throne, and a skeleton with faded gold armor sat in it, holding a magic recording orb in it's hand...
