At four points around the mountain known as Evraius the Teragren captains went over the situation once more to be sure there was no confusion; this was a volunteer mission, there was a high risk of death, and once the climbers passed the Teragen gates onto the premises of Evraius they were no longer under the protection of the Teragren army, and nobody would help but the rest of their team members.Of the 19 volunteers that passed the test to be accepted into the Evraius mission there were now four teams, each of 4 or 5 people. The army had brought them to the four gates that separated Evraius from the Kingdom of Teragren. The strategy was that they may be more effective if they could split the Kamyn attention and thus have a better survival rate. Now the four teams sat at their respective gates, facing the world changing mountain that would be their future; Evraius. The teams were split up in the following ways:Gold Team, made up of Drale Vay, Amber Dolor, Cornelius Bastion, and Sandrew.Silver Team, made up of Sonya Bishop, Kinzoku Mors, Averain, and Jasper SummersIron Team, made up of Alice Thornsberry, Emert Berger, Morgan Etiam Vinctum, and Doctor Pellinore WartropPlatinum Team, made up of Apollo, Lance Alburght, Varion Hain, Fairy, Aya Kozakura, Sairi KozakuraEach of the gates rumbled opened painfully and slowly, with a history of destruction and cruelty beyond their metal bars."Okay." Each captain spoke to the respective teams as they mounted their horses once again and steered back toward the road."You all have 5 minutes to greet your new teammates and enter the gates. The magical locks will automatically close them again after that point. There won't be any returning until you have something substantial to return with." The gist of each captain's parting words were. They had all rehearsed together so the information would be similar for each group. It also helped mask the fear.And then each group was left alone, each with a gate and a beaten dirt path beyond it sitting before them. It was time to start the introductions and get going.It was time to start the climb.Watching every gate through spectral projections, Adriev pondered. He stood in a pure white room with 5 others. After watching the four teams for a few moments he turned to his peers: Efenton, Girver, Dante, and Vortimer. Only one was missing."So..." He spoke slowly, weighing every word. "What shall we do about this?"

As Sanya dressed, Jasper looked away from her and waited for her to finish. But once she asked where Kinzuko was, he punched her square in the jaw, "That's for not letting us know you survived."  Jasper said, annoyed he'd felt so guilty for nothing. "As for Kinzuko... we lost her. She may be alive, but we're not sure where." While he was talking, Jasper summoned his longsword, Blighter, just in case something unexpected happened to the group.

 

Meanwhile, Amber gazed around at her comrades, not sure what half of them were talking about. All she knew was that now that the Kamyn pressed the button, something was about to happen, and hopefully it would be good.

She sat on the floor. "Why must humans kill each other...." She sighed sadly.

Ferro looked openly at Sanya as she dressed. And if Ferro looked openly, Vell leered, as much as a crossbow could leer. A humming started in everyone's minds, a soft humming, coming from Vell. Birgitte knew what it meant, and scolded, "Honestly, do none of you have any shame!" "I can't help it! I can't close me eye!" Chips wailed in anguish, clearly distressed. A faint smile appeared on Ferro's face, as much for Sanya as for Chips.

 

Cathos~~~~~

 

Cathos glanced at the Doctor, then began scanning what he was writing in his book. All of it was stuff he already knew, but it was always good to see information coming from multiple sources. Cathos looked back up into the room, wondering if anyone else was going to come with.

When Efton had pressed the button, Drale clutched his pocket watch tighter than normal, as he was starting to get extremely nervous. The watch managed to calm him down enough, so that when Sanya dropped her cloak, he quickly turned around. However, when he heard Ferro, and Vell, he smirked. He then created a bucket, filled with shadow water out his own shadow, and poured it over Ferro. As his shadow returned to him he said to Ferro, "Ferro, I must ask that you keep yourself focused on the mission at hand. With a Kaymn approaching soon, we'll need everyone to help fight him." He then muttered to himself, "You have no idea how much I enjoy doing this."

Ferro would see that Sanya had creamy white skin, like vanilla pudding. Her body was lithe, not hourglass really. She looked more fit then that, and her breasts...well perky C-cups with an uplift. All in all, Ferro could very well nosebleed over her if he so wished. As could Vell.

Rai noticed Ferro and heard Vell. Angry, he whispered to Sanya...who smoothed her clothes out, and walked up to Ferro...two minutes later. Mostly because she was standing up.

"I'm sorry Jasper." She said...hesitantly. "I did not mean to make you sorrowful. I thought the fact I was part phoenix was clue enough. Now excuse me." She rubbed her jaw as she stepped up to Ferro Pervert-Face.

And without preamble, lifted up her shirt and bra, and gave Ferro a sight to hopefully kill him with bloodloss.

"Take a good look. Nothing special." Waiting a minute, she turned to the others. "See? Just the female anatomy. Don't get why people stare anymore." Dropping her shirt fifteen seconds later, Rai, slightly shocked, sidles up.

"Why...?"

"I lost modesty and the ability to careif people saw my body when I was a dancer five decades ago." She said. "Any other perverts, or can we go on?" She rubbed her forehead.

Varion:

Varion kneeled and patted Fairy on the head, "Hey! You're still useful! Efenton can't heal everyone at once, so having two healers when we're facing a powerful god is going to really help! You've been great support so far." He said with small smile. This is where he started to shine--where he could help his team morally. He had this new power now, gifted to him by someone else, but he still did best trying to help his allies.

 

Emert:

Emert sighed and walked onto the lift. The Doctor and Cathos were surely proving themselves capable, while Emert himself seemed to be a bit too arrogant. It was sort of true. His title often got to his head. But even then, he tried to be as level-headed as possible. He vowed from here on out to be of more use to the entirety of his team. If he could help it, no one would die and end up as another Kamyn.

Ryu landed on the ground. His power of vibrations had fully left him and went to someone else. "Alright Adreiv. Lets do this," Ryu said. Suddenly, his body exploded, giving off a radiant glow. It was as if something inside Ryu was trying to bust out of his body. Ryu looked almost as if he were a celestial being. His whole body was this radiant blue light giving off so much energy, like a star. "This is the result of signing a contract with Seraphim, the supreme leader of the gods of my people. You know, the ones killed on Earth? Seraphim grants a unique and highly rare power to those that he has chosen. In my case, in order to activate this power, I must shed my human flesh and power, and give myself completely to this power, lest it destroys me as a whole," Ryu finished his explanation.

 

"Adriev. I'm giving you one last chance to surrender and live. I am a celestial being capable of the quantum spectrum as a whole. This is your final warning," Ryu warned.

Iron

The lift sprung to life and brought the entire Iron team to a lightless room above where they were. In the darkness, though, a flicker appeared. Some form of flame. It illuminated that the room was quite large and made of metal, and above the flame was a large metallic sign reading "Malfunctioning units."

 

In front of the flame was a young woman though... Kinzoku (read the next section for Kinzoku as well)

 

Kinzoku

Kinzuku landed hard, but some force beneath her had given way and allowed her to remain relatively unscathed even from such a huge fall. Now she was in a darkened room... behind her a rumbling came forth, and the Iron team arrived on a lift from below. Now her and the Iron team stood in this room... and a flame appeared before them. At first it was small, but then it began to spread... and move... The flames spread but then another section of the room started sparking with electricity, which also spread. Soon there was also frosty ice spreading as well...

 

Soon it became clear; there was a being in the room that was creating and using all of these elements. As the light stretched out across the room it illuminated the creature's form, which was a gigantic, hunched-over humanoid figure, of which the head and upper torso were fire, the arms were ice, and the legs were electricity, all with a sort of ever-morphing metal, which was dynamically shifting at all times. The elements shifted too. It was as if the creature was made of of thousands... no... millions of little beings that all controlled elements and dynamically formed together....

 

A sort of elemental golem... but far more potent and destructive.

 

In a moment it swung wordlessly down at Kinzoku with it's icy fist, swift and merciless, it's arm stretching and sharpening to a blade as it came down.

 

Gold/Silver/Platinum

From the pedestal with the button a sound arrived...

 

Adriev.

 

But he sounded different.... warmer... more... human.

 

"So, we have all the critical systems online right? The cryo chambers are all still functional? We didn't lose anybody?"

 

That was when another voice chimed in...

 

Kamyn

Adriev laughed.

 

"A celestial being? How quaint. Your petty gods are pitiful and foolish to think themselves on the level of Kamyn. Your power comes from faith, mine from force. I will teach you your place, traitor. Then I will put my final plan into motion for all of your friends left on this world."

 

The smile of Adriev's was sinister and daunting.

 

"Make your first move, I shall relish in your death."

Fairy blushed slightly. "Varrion...you really think I'm useful? That's kind of you. For me to have even one person that needs me is enough...I still feel however weak. Everyone here is way stronger than I ever could be." She sighed as the video-like thing played. She started to think "It seems off .....it's as if the place was nothing more than a testing ground.....was this video really the answer? It seems too easy. One thing about learning the truth is it's never easy." 

(Sorry, but I'm just developing Ferro's character. He's uncouth, and nothing to do about it.)

Chips let out a wail as Sanya flashed, and Vell picked up his humming again. Ferro took one glance, then locked eyes with Sanya. "It is impolite to present yourself in such a forward manner." he said, as if repeating something someone had said in the past. Birgitte made a choking sound, as if Ferro had insulted her, then practically screeched, "I can't deal with you!" Then, in a more civilized tone and volume, "I apologize for the behavior of my . . . companions (this said with a grumble) . . . and beg your pardon." Ferro broke out laughing, as if it was the funniest thing in the world. As if it had happened before. But then the recording came on, and Ferro fell silent to listen.

 

Cathos~~~~~

 

Like everything, the elemental golem only earned a raised eyebrow from Cathos. As it was right now, all he did was put his mind in a state of readiness, preparing a defensive wall to fling up and crafting a few nasty counters. He could tell the golem was mindless; his best attacks could not harm it. The counters he prepared were all physical counters.

Kamyn

Adriev laughed.

"You're naive, Adreiv," Ryu said walking towards him. "Quantum Leap," Ryu commanded. Immediately following, Ryu disappeared faster than the speed of light, leaving small particles in place of where he used to be. Ryu was behind Adreiv in the blink of an eye. However something was different. There was multiple Ryu's in Adreiv's eyesight. In every direction one would turn, a different Ryu would be there already. "Well? Can you guess which of us is the real one?" Ryu asked playfully.

 

Though clones might have seemed childish, one would never guess what was coming next...

The New voice responded. "Of course..." the sound of Opening Doors came,  And the sounds of buttons being pressed came up. "But, better late than never. How are your kids doing?  I heard you and the miss- " A giant thud came over the speakers. "What the hell was that...?"

When Sanya walked toward Ferro, Drale smirked slightly, expecting him to get slapped. When Sanya revealed herself, he stumbled from the pure shock of it. Rather shaken, he walked over to the nearest rock, sat on it, and started fervently writing in a book, entitled, "Heartless." "Next time, can you do us a favor and give an advance warning of when you're going to do that? Some people can't exactly take that. Look at poor Sandrew over there." he said to Sanya, after he finished writing. When the voice came from the button, he intently listened. "How... curious. I'm starting to get a few ideas about these Kaymn." He said, to no one in particular.

How wonderful, she had managed to run into a team! Less wonderful, she had run into another creature that sought her death. Kinzoku rolled away, barely escaping. She got to a knee, and pointed her arm at the golem. Three ingots flew out of her bag, and morphed into cylinders. They shot at the golem with the speed of a bullet, but the mass of a three pound cylinder. The Doctor looked up from his writing, realizing the lift had stopped. He observed the surroundings quickly, then considered his options. He could keep working... No, that wouldn't do. Some saw him as uncouth, but that would be simply cruel. No, helping was the best course of action here. At least this room was larger. Now he could do some work. Warthrop summoned his Jorogumo, Muriel. The Doctor smiled slightly remembering the woman this particular creature had been named after. Then he frowned, recalling her tragically horrific death. Wendigos, as much as he would like to deny them, had proved themselves with her body. The Doctor shook his head, ridding himself of such unhappy thoughts. The thing he needed the least right now was to fall into a slump. The Doctor watched his gigantic spider run at the golem, attacking with her sharp front legs.

"Oh that?" Adriev seemed un-phased in the recording. He let the silence hold the moment for a bit longer and then spoke as the air dripped with it.

 

"That was just me detonating the crew decks. Too many fools who know the truth. They won't be useful, and when we wake up the whole cryo-population they would simply explain all that has come before, and ruin the new world that is to be created." He smiled. "As captain of the Seed-ship Evraius I think I have a right to decide who lives and who dies aboard my vessel for the good of humanity."

 

He paused.

 

"And the kids are doing just fine."
