Is It Normal To Feel Like This?

Posted

I don't normally post depressing topics on this site but, as the name of the topic states, when you're alone or in privacy is it normal to think as if that people talk smack behind your back and think you're annoying?

I'm only asking for you guys' opinion on it, is it normal or just me being paranoid?

I think it's a normal feeling. Gossip is actually good for the human brain, so of course people are going to do it. Even if you find out people are gossiping, it's probably not a big deal. Since everyone seems to feel this way, and obviously not everyone is super annoying, it's probably nothing to worry about.

I don't care what people think about me, if they wanna talk bad about me behind my back then that's fine. I don't talk behind peoples back ever. So u can assume they don't do it to me. ;) I love everyone because I like hearing how people think. Everyone has there own way of thinking.

Actually divisive and harmful gossip, such as talking smack behind someones back, is not good for the human brain at all. Just because a lot of people do it doesn't automatically make it okay.

I didn't say it because "a lot of people do it". I remembered reading a study on it a while back

The gist of it is that when you share gossip that "warns" others about another person cheating/being rude/doing bad things/annoying/whatever, you feel better.

Can be normal I guess.

I've read the studies. My point was that not all gossip is good for you. The kind of gossip Villi1997 is talking about, someone going behind his back to say that he is annoying, is not the kind of gossip that is beneficial to society of personal wellness. Hey, funny coincidence, my father went to college at U.C. Berkeley.

Well that study seems to support the idea that the gossip he is talking about makes you feel better since it classifies as "warning" someone else about another's behavior. I don't really care to debate this, the point is it's a normal feeling.

I think it depends on how you feel on the topic. For me, IDGAF, but if you think differently, then so be it.
