Hey there everyone, how's it going? You know, I've been thinking a lot ever since I read a topic in here about the Seven Lights possibly losing the battle against the Thirteen Darknesses, and I remember that I had commented on that topic, and the reply I left is a reply I think deemed worthy enough of it's own topic. So then, as you all know, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the final game in the Xehanort Saga, and thus, a new arc will begin after Kingdom Hearts 3 ends. What we don't know is how that'll go about. Sure, we know Xehanort will die...but at what cost will it be?
You see, this is the biggest battle that Sora and friends will be in, because it's a battle that will not just stop Xehanort for good, but it'll determine the fate of the worlds and change the course of everything. We know that the Seven Lights and Thirteen Darknesses will clash, but all evidence in the Foreteller's script and the KH3 teaser seem to indicate that Xehanort will win. While we know that probably won't happen, I'm thinking that the battle will be of such utter chaos, that many lives will be lost, and lives will be changed forever. I have to ask myself how Sora will be able to handle it all. Sure, he's a happy go lucky guy, and he's always optimistic and he has a serious sense of justice...but what if the final battle gives a heavy toll? What if the price to pay for stopping Xehanort for good is the loss of his friends? The very friends he's protected over the years?
If the victory of the Seven Lights is attained by the sacrifice of many, Sora could ask himself the question: "Was all this worth stopping Xehanort? Was the cost too much to pay?" After seeing all the pain and suffering his friends go through to ensure the peace of all worlds, I think Sora will eventually turn his back on the light and become the antagonist of the next saga. So technically, Nomura would keep his promise of keeping Sora as the main character, but not necessarily as the hero...think about it. Please don't hate me for this, this is all just mere speculation, but wouldn't it be interesting for Sora to turn face after the final battle, therefore teasing us for Kingdom Hearts 4? Or will he disappear unexpectedly, and when you find him in the later games, he's the villain? I know it's probably unlikely, but then again, Nomura is a twisted man who loves to add plot twists when you least expect them. For all I know, I'll probably be wrong about all of this, but in any case, I'm gonna be the one calling it! Sora will be the villain of the next saga. O.o
