I reckon posts in Random and Role Playing should be disabled. These are not Good Quality posts a lot of the time, and they shouldn't be counted.

Other KH Forums also have it that it doesn't increase your post counts in those two forums.

YES.

Yes. 100% agreed.

Though because of all the argument about the RP section, I'd say we put OOC threads into a different category and the real RP threads into a different one, so that only the IC posts count. So the discussion about roleplaying wouldn't increase post count, but the RPing itself would. :3/sucks at explaining huwah

I agree with the Ramdom fourm that it shouldn't be counted but I disagree with the RP fourm because so many people do RPs and thats why there Post Count is so high and then they wouldn't know what to do to actually increase the post count at the average that they are at and besides a bunch of people would probably be mad about not counting posts in RPs

I still don't quite get why some people find post count important.

Seriously, someone who likes to have lots of posts, please tell me why. D: What is the point?

well I think to some people think it is important because of trying to get like to 10,000 posts and stuff like that

This

Let's not turn this is into a fight again...

But I agree. More users, in my opinion, should be striving for a custom user title, not a high post count. If you noticed, not many high posters have CUTs. And since CUTs are the actual sign of a good member, many posts by those with high posts counts (which are typically not that well thought out.) make you less likely to get a custom user title.

i agree. a really high number on post count shouldn't matter guys ;--; it only makes you seem like all you post is spam.

exactly. not quite understanding why people aren't working to get a CUT but instead only spam the forums. like coded said, the more you post, the less likely it'll be for you to get a CUT.

Agreed.

Post counts should be disabled in both RP and Random in my opinion because well.... most of it really pointless and uncontributive. And what does it matter if RPers post count goes down?

I honestly don't care if we do both or not. But if I had to choose, I would still choose roleplaying first. But not get rid of role-playings post counts altogether. The way that either section is now, is very contributive to be honest. =

....ffff I'm not writing this again.

What I propose is a subforum where we throw all the one-liners and non-serious roleplaying where it doesn't count for post count. I think it's fair' date=' and teaches people how to role-play, without spamming. Also maybe a "Discuss plots/RPG characters." I also feel we should make some rules/guidelines specifically to the role-playing to somewhat control the "spam" a bit more.

I do think the role-playing is ridiculous how it is now and needs to be addressed. I'm not an expert at role-playing, but the role playing now really does look like it belongs in chat rooms, which keeps me away from it to be honest. I do actually really like role-plays.

A high post count honestly shouldn't matter. There's no real rewarding thing you get from well, spamming. All you get is a number. Does it really matter how hight it is?

The reason why I'm saying role-playing is because to put it.. quite simply.

Role-playing is filled with so many one-liner's it's nearly impossible to keep track of it due to the immense amount of posted spam that's each entire thread.

I would be completely against role playing such as : http://kh13.com/mybb/showthread.php?tid=7580&page=40 --- Though... they have double-posted here and there' date=' and their posts still are rather short, and they have SOME one-liners, we can at least fix the double posting, and at least they're going more into detail than others. Though this one I still would consider a non-serious RP, but it's more detailed and more descriptive than the one-liners. I don't even need to link a one-liner. just go look... If you one-line once or twice, we would understand, but this constant post after post is all we see, it gets the point where it's just like, "so and so did this as this other person did that." -- Well, that's a bit over exaggeration but you should get the point.

Now. This is what I know how a role-play should be to be a "serious post-worthy" :

"Nnnnngh..." I whimpered as I hugged my throbbing head. What happened? The last thing I remember was leaving the track meet with my best friend, Jenn. It had gotten late and we were leaving when I had realized that I left my bag in the bathrooms. Jenn said she would wait for me, and I ran to get it. When I entered the building, everything suddenly went black. As I opened my eyes, I realized I was in the middle of no where. The small building outside of town I had been was gone. There was no concrete beneath my body, only grass and weeds. The stalls were still there, but the toilets looked like someone had taken a sledge hammer to them. I stood up, shaky and confused. I checked myself, to make sure I wasn't hurt. My clothes were intact, and besides the shock, I was fine. My hair wasn't even messy, surprisingly. I blinked twice and nervously looked up.

"Wha--?" Everything I had known was gone. Destroyed. Rusted. Dead. Nothing was really going through my mind, a few thoughts confirming the obvious. I was just struck dumbfounded. Grass was growing where there should be pavement. The buildings were falling apart and creaking to the sound of the wind. Trees were growing, and green plants were everywhere. Flowers I had never seen before grew everywhere and where the track use to be, grew the most beautiful of the flowers. Nature was ruling over the technology. It was showing it's domain over the dead world, and giving it a new life.

As I looked around, I saw what used to be the small town I lived in. The dirt road that lead the way there seemed no different, unlike everything else. It still lead to the town as faithfully as always. Towards my home. My home...

Finally coming back to reality, fear got to me and I looked around for anything near me. To protect me would be better, but I found my backpack next to my leg. It was filled with clothes, a snack bag, a bottle of warm water, and my phone. Somehow, most of my things were also in good condition, just like me. Except the phone. It was missing parts and the buttons where smashed in. There was something on the screen though. How it was still on I'll never know. But it was a text from Jenn. "Jenn... Jenn!" I screamed for her. Where was she? Where was anyone? Were they dead? Did they disappear? Were they taken away? Was this some kind of sick joke? No. They couldn't do this. This... this was done by some monster. And I was alone. That's when it hit me. Alone. Being alone was my biggest fear. Shivering, I sat down and began to cry. "Mom... Jenn... Everyone..." I sat and sobbed for a long time. When I knew I couldn't cry any longer, got up, put on my backpack, and headed for the town, which had to be about a half hour away on foot.

Survive. That's all I could do for now. Just keep going. There's no use in sitting around and crying. That's what Jenn was always telling me. "Keep up a stiff upper lip and keep marching, kiddo! If you don't do something, no one will!" But she's not here to help me now, so I have to do it. I have to do it. All alone.

... do you see how long that is? It's descriptive, while still keeping to a role-playing feel. Role-playing CAN be shorter than that, but one-liners? Come on. >; Generally though, the basic acceptable role-playing is around 5 or so lines, I think.

Here's a "typical" shorter one on the website as well. :

Her instincts weren't all that great' date=' and she trained herself to use a sword. Well, she had some help from her personal guard. He was such a sweetie, he only tried to keep her happy. In the end, she escaped for her one sanity and personal ambitions. It surprised her when this guy appeared out of nowhere and took an apple off the tree. She almost widened her eyes when the sword's tip almost sliced her ankle. He finally noticed her as she reached back to the hilt of her rapier. Pulling it out quickly, she watched as the blade reach over to touch his apple. Though, she didn't look defensive at all. Interaction with people was hard for her, least to say. "Hi...." She said in a quiet voice as her mellow eyes flickered to look directly at him. She pulled her back her sword not seeing any danger and put it back in it's sheath behind her back. Her face was now composed of a more sincere and meek expression, as she smiled most faintly. "Sorry, you almost wounded me. I thought...you were...nevermind." Helena tried to explain as she took a bite out of her apple and she winced a little, to hid her wings back inside her body. Dropping down from the branch with the apple in her hand, she stood in front of him a little bit hesitantly. Surely, he would notice her light blue horns..though. [/quote']

Ontop of that, the ENTIRE role-playing section from this other website I'm on is like that. It has PARAGRAPHS, PLOTS, PUNCTUATION... LENGTH. IN-DEPTH DESCRIPTIVE POSTS. Our section is just ridiculous and uncontrollable. I understand they might "spam other sections more" but meh... D8

I just feel role-playing isn't being used properly. The threads that are there now will still be there, but 90% would probably go into the "non-serious RP" subforum. The roleplays that would DESERVE to count as post count would be in the original section.

Now, I would be fine with random not counting as well, there used to be some threads in there that were actually discussions that were not serious enough to be in any of the others, but now there's more spammy threads than normal. I think it's okay to joke around, but it's like thread after thread after thread. But the reason I would say random should still count for posts counts is that it's giving one section for people to spam, but we can at least monitor it better than the chaos in the role-playing. If it gets too much like a game, we can move it to forum games. If it's to spammy in general we can just remove it altogether.

One last note, a member shouldn't want to spam. They shouldn't want a high post count. They should want at least a CUT like someone else said. It show's you're a good person, a great member, etc. etc.

If you gutys really want to improve it I have an idea. it helped lot in the yCM RPs so maybe it will do some good here.

Advanced Roleplaying Clause ( Quoted by Rinne at YCM)

Minimum Post Length

I would like to see a advanced role-play section.

I can do better then what you usually see, but whenever I get on here I just get lazy and post shorter =w=

I mean I can make a post like this long

To here

And that requires me to really think. Those types of posts in RPs might not be that spammy. Other non-sense role-plays for just chilling could be put in a sub-forum that doesn

lol, i'm not going through reading all those, but i agree post count should be disabled there

tbh, i couldn't care less about post count, it wouldn't be a bad idea to even move them from the posts to the person's profile

@ ventus: but people would still do 1-sentence posts in an advanced section

Not if you have rules like Ventuswind posted >D

So post like that could be deleted if the roleplayers report it. 8D

(Pst, don't call me Ventus, It confuzes people)

it means the mods would have to be on there 24/7...

ok then [v] :)

Now you're giving the members no credit. I mean, eventually they're going to get the hint. I doubt the roleplayers are that stupid you know. Now I'm just sayin.

(Its -V-)

the mods and admins have talking and i told them that maybe we should split up the mods so about 2 of us could monitor the roleplaying section if we ever do split it up the way kaiso said. (i love her idea). the rest of the mods could monitor the other sections.

i think it was like that for a while but dc changed it.

just posting mmy idea I didnt say we'd HAVE to use them. I like Jenny's idea of splitting the mods up.

It'd also be easier if members would report stuff. But splitting up the mods sounds good.

wasnt there a thread like this, cuz i remember there was and DChuich took off the post count only for random

I report everything I see thats against the rules. And by splitting the RP forum in half... spam one place, serious real stuff another.

Post count will remain intact, and the spam will be gone.

But, if it ends up that you do take the posts in that forum away completly, just make it stop increasing... dont make it to where our post counts DEcrease because of what posts we had there... no, keep what we have... then dont let it increase anymore.

The post count isnt really the problem... its the way we're getting the post count.

why in the world would we make post count DEcrease xD? that's just way too stupid.

if we ever do take away post count from the rp or random section, of course we won't make post count decrease.

Not like when you post your count goes down not up...

What I mean is, you guys are talking about making the change to where Post count in RP doesnt count.

What Im asking is, is for you to just make it stop INcreasing, but in the change dont take away the count that was already there.

If someone has 999 posts in RP... and he has 1000 now, and you make the change, he'll have ONE post.

But:

If someone has 999 posts in RP... and he has 1000 now, and you make the change, he'll still have his 1000... it just wont increase more by posting in that forum.

yeah i agree, the post count should just be related towards mainly kh game related stuff at least, but thats just my opinion,

you've made 10,000 posts, achievement unlocked, lol

yeah, i wouldnt mind having one of those, i guess ill have to try and be more fullfilling in my posts!

well most RPs here are KH based so that wouldn't really make sense.
