Was there a game on any Nintendo console that have gotten a Game of the Year re-release?

Posted

I'm trying to think of a game but I can't think of one. All I remember is that games that got a Game of the Year re-release was on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC. I don't even think there was a game of the year re-release for handhelds for PlayStation either.

Well normally when they re-release a game under the Game of the Year Edition it's because it had DLC and to my knowledge the Wii can't support DLC but idk about the WiiU but again when they release the game as Game of the Year they have the DLC build into the disk so idk I don't think there has been on the Wii or WiiU along with Xbox and PS3 that got a Game of the Year edition release.

Nintendo Selects were Nintendo's version of a re-release game. GOTY editions usually are for DLC reasons, and Nintendo doesn't do much with DLC like Xbox and Playstation does. So yeah, there has be re-releases of games on Nintendo, just not a GOTY edition, since there really is no need for one.

What about A Link Between Worlds? Does that count?

ALBW did get a Game of the Year award, but it was never re-released.

There are Nintendo Selects. It's pretty much the same thing.

Actually, Nintendo Selects were a thing for the Wii, and so it was kinda recent if you really want to look at it that way. As for the games it had, I'm afraid that I don't know. I just know a few of them, like Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Super Sluggers and I think Twilight Princess.
