I recently was listening to the Final Vanitas boss song, and about midway through it, I head samples of the Other Promise. I know songs may not be a reliable source, but I believe it was put there for a reason. Besides, technically Roxas and Vanitas already have a connection because of them are connecting to Ven. I'll find out in due time what the exact connection is. What are your thoughts?

ok, all i know about vanitas is

 

 

vanitas looks like sora because of ven taking in sora's heart (thats what ive heard anyways), but yet the timing seems off, also, you probably already knew that, but like i said, wasnt vanitas created before ven took in sora's heart for a brief period of time?

well notice no one saw his face until after ven took in his heart so except xeahnort but he probably saw him in a different picture then

Vanitas was created before Ven took in Sora's heart, but Sora influenced the appearance of Vanitas, because he filled in the missing part to Ven's heart.

at the beginning of BBS right after vanitas was created (who probably looked like ven at first, but no proof on that) xehanort took ven to destiny islands where ven's shattered heart came in contact with sora's newly born heart, then sora join his heart with ven's till ven's heart could heal (so basiclly they were shareing a heart) which caused vanitas (the darkness in ven's heart) to look like sora

then at the end of BBS when the x-blade was destroyed ven lost his heart and it went into 4 year old sora's heart which most likely stayed inside of roxas when sora lost his heart

 

and all of that is probably why roxas' theme was in there (btw sora's theme is in it too)

I didn't even hear Sora's theme in it, I'll have to check it out.

at 1:07 you can hear roxas' theme and at 2:09 you can hear sora's theme (his is kinda in the background so its a little hard to notice at first)

Kind of off-topic, but I like Vanitas's theme. :'D So upbeat...

Sora's theme is in there. It's not as upbeat and happy as the original, it's been modified a little to fit the song. But it is there. You can hear it better in his 1st battle theme. > >

Keep in mind it's probably not The Other Promise, Ventus' theme is very similar to Roxas'

ven and roxas' themes don't sound THAT similar (they do a little but not that much that you can get them mixed up)

Ven's theme does sound similar to Roxas' theme, but I'm positive that the song played in the Vanitas theme was the Other Promise.

Vanitas' theme has pieces of Sora's and Roxas' theme just like Ven's does. This is to intentionally show that they share a connection. Vanitas' connection to Sora is obvious, and Ven and Sora act as bridges connecting Vanitas to Roxas.

The point I'm trying to make with this thread is that Sora/Roxas may have a deeper connection with Vanitas later on in the series, not an indirect one.

Probably. In order to return Ven as the person he once was, they need Vanitas. Which means he'll return in the future. Which will make the fanbase very happy because he's a f***ing bad*** who needs to appear in more than one game

I expect a mix of the reaction to when he saw Roxas come out of his body, and Riku's reaction when he lifted up Xion's hood. Surprised/freaked out kinda reaction ^^
