Bee broke the serious nature of that scene. Heck, any scene becomes hilarious as soon as Bee joins in.

 

 

Holy sh!t, we learned so much about the beginning of chakra and how everything is all "regular stuff" until chakra came. I see a couple Biblical references going on in Chapter 646. The Juubi (also known as God Tree) is a tree that is worshiped and bears special fruit that should NOT be eaten. However wars have waged on and the Princess broke the rule and eat the fruit gaining chakra abilities, but pissed off the juubi.

 

When I read it, I immediately begin to think Adam and Eve from the Bible. God created a tree that bears fruit that is forbidden to be eaten, but Eve disobeyed and eat the fruit, as well as Adam, and then were banished from the Garden of Eden.

 

That's just my own viewpoint, but this chapter answers everything about how chakra came to the world, and gave us the rikudo Sennin's real name, Hagoromo Ootsutsuki. (not sure if last name, first name or first name, last name). Hiruzen appeared finally, so that's cool. and we kinda get a deeper understanding of why Madara is going bonkers over Infinite Tsukuyomi. But now we are finally getting causalities, which i didn't like, but it can't be helped. 

 

man, who knows what can happen next? Obito has the upper hand now, and everything's seems hopeless. but we have a special 21 page chapter coming next week, so something BIG is definitely going happen, and we are getting close to the 650th chapter, and I kinda feel a huge thing is gonna occur there, and Kakashi still hasn't showed up yet after his battle with Obito.

Naruto Character Analysis #3- Shikamaru Nara

(Okay, a quick note before we start: I promise I had the idea for this BEFORE the most recent chapter, but the most recent chapter made me want to get off my butt and finally get working on this, so here we go!)

 

Shikamaru Nara- The lazy genius of Konoha. I've always had a soft spot for this guy. He's hilarious, but when it comes down to it, he's one of the best strategists in the village. He was the first to get Chunin rank out of the Konoha 12, and one of the most important of the supporting cast. If you couldn't tell yet, he's in a tie for my favorite character in the series, definitely. So, I'll have a lot of good things to say about this guy. Let's get started!

 

When I first saw this guy in the games (Which, as I said in the first analysis, were my first real exposure to the series outside of a couple episodes I'd seen years before getting into it), I thought he seemed kinda strange. Weird shadow guy who always had his hands in his pockets... It didn't quite click well with me then. However, once I saw him in the actual series, I began liking him immediately. He was sarcastic and witty, but also had some of the smartest ideas out of anyone else in the series. He was an important part of the Ino-Shika-Cho formation, immobilizing opponents so his teammates could take them out. He could somewhat hold his own in a fight, too. He never really had any huge dreams, he wanted to just be an ordinary ninja. However, he caused a lot of important changes for the shinobi world later on. When it comes to combat, he's able to use his Shadow Possession Jutsu to ensnare his opponents in his own shadows, which is a really cool combat style. He found all sorts of ways to deal with them after this, but his most notable method of damage is to team up with Choji and Ino and use the legendary Ino-Shika-Cho formation to wipe out the enemy.

 

In terms of story, Shikamaru did a lot. He was the first to become a Chunin out of the Konoha 12, and was a part of the team who went to find and stop Gaara after the Chunin Exams. After this, he led the Sasuke Retrieval squad, and despite the overall failure of the mission, had come up with smart strategies that kept the team alive. During Shippuden, he took a major role in the arc with Hidan and Kakuzu, being one of the most important characters. (Spoilers upcoming)

 

Asuma's death was an event that helped shape his character, as well. He took on more responsibilities, and took more of a leadership role, similarly to his sensei. It also resulted in his singlehanded defeat of Hidan, one of the most dangerous Akatsuki members. Shikamaru's revenge had been satisfied, and Shikamaru fans such as myself really enjoyed this arc due to the development Shikamaru got.

Shikamaru had a few minor roles here and there after this, such as decoding Jiraiya's message about Pain. However, he became a major character once again during the Fourth Shinobi World War, being a platoon leader. (Spoilers for the rest of this)

Shikamaru had come up with all sorts of strategies during the war to take down the Allied Shinobi Force's enemies, and became even more of an important decision maker once his father was killed by the Ten Tails. And then, in the most recent chapter at this point in time... Shikamaru had his chakra drained by the Ten Tails, and is now slowly dying. It's truly a shame to see such an excellent character, and a skilled ninja die like this. However, I will never forget everything he did for his village, and the world. I'm sure many others will do the same. Rest in piece, Shikamaru...

 

 

Sorry if this one seemed kinda rushed, I wanted to get it out quickly... It feels like it isn't as high quality as the last two, but I needed to get it out fast. Well, hope you all enjoyed! If there's a major character (In other words, not Tonton or Akamaru. Kiba and Akamaru would be fine, but I really can't do Akamaru on his own) who you want to see get a spotlight, let me know!

I have to agree. I doubt that Shikamaru died right there and then. Sure, his chakra got drained but I seriously doubt that the little drama or reaction that went into it constitutes an actual death.

You've got a point, it wasn't nearly as dramatic as past deaths. If he does die, which I get the feeling will happen, they'll probably have a chapter focusing on Ino-Shika-Cho, and maybe the mentioning of Asuma. I cried just seeing Shikamaru's chakra drain, I can only imagine how I'll react to a whole chapter about his death...

Well, we will find out when the next chapter comes out, We may see some action of Naruto and Sasuke trying to take the tree down, but I still think you have to disconnect Obito from the tree to actually take it down. Like I said, I hope Tsunade shows up and heals Shikamaru as well as the others who had their chakras drained if possible. I hope the next chapter or maybe 649 or 650, Kakashi shows up again, it's been 10+ chapters since we seen him.

 

 

Really loved that they showed all the first kage + AFRO RAIKAGE.

 

 

This may have been a flashback chapter, but we saw some important history being made. Who would have known what Hashirama wanted would come true 4 kages later. And to top it off, the 5 kage has finally arrived. No telling what can happen in the next chapter, but I believe we will have something big in the next 2 chapters. As for the battle itself, as many predicted, Juugo gives Sasuke Senjutsu energy through curse marks to allow sasuke to attack Obito without worrying about what type of attacks he needs, plus Sasuke finally reached Full Susanoo. Obito is at disadvantage here, but he's sneaky, cause he get's damaged hard, and gets uber powerful all in the sudden. Next chapter is gonna have some heavy action.

Seriously, I'm gonna cry my guts out when the Itachi/Sasuke scene after killing Kabuto appears on the anime.
