Well if the adapter is cheaper than the gamepad, you are going to save money if you already have controller compatible with the gamepad.

The Gamepad comes with the Wii U though, so unless someone's Gamepad breaks, there's not much of a point for this.

 

It could just be because I don't like the idea of using one console's controller on a different console, but this just seems odd to me. :/

Ah, I was thinking gamepad not gamepad.... What I was thinking of was the "Wii U Pro Controller"
