I don't know if you guys noticed, but there's a pretty big increase in terms of loading times when changing Drive Forms, Command Styles or activating D-Links.

 

In the original games, these things took about one second to activate/load, a bit more if your disc/UMD was dirty.

However, in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX this takes aboout 3-5 seconds with a CLEAN and NEW disc.

 

This isn't too bad in BBSFM; the game pauses while switching Command Styles or activating D-Links.

This is more of a problem in KH2FM; here, the game DOES NOT pause, meaning the enemies keep moving around and attacking while you are stuck. This is especially bad in Critical Mode, where a few hits could kill you. You might be able to move again just as your enemy launches its most devestating attack, bringing you down to 0 HP.

 

Do you think they'll fix this for the European and American Version?

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX didn't receive a patch at all, so I doubt they'll fix this.

 

Personally, I think it's quite a big problem, for the reasons stated above.

 

What do you think about this? Is this a big nuisance to you or is it just a minor flaw?

You can't fix it unless you install the game to your HDD (which should at least be 7200rpm)

 

the blu-ray drive of the PS3 is horrible and slow (2x speed) combined that with a 20GB constantly loading files and load times will be significantly more.

Personally, I don't think Square is going to fix it.A solution to the long drive load times in 2FM though is to pause buffer the game. It'll load the drive while it's paused so you won't get attacked.

That fixes my main complaint, thank you both for this.

In my opinion, the load times still kinda break the flow of the game.

Yeah, it's a real shame how much longer the load times are compared to KH2FM and even KH2 - English. People in the speedrunning community were looking forward to running this game since 2FM is so exclusive and difficult to obtain, but the load times add 40 minutes to a typical "beat the game' speedrun. Kinda threw the hype out the window :c

I don't really care for 'normal' load times.

They can't be worse than BBS's load times, which often were more than 30 seconds long.

 

In the original games, you would just change your Command Style/Drive Form or activate your D-Link, and be right back in the action.

 

Now it's like 'Oh, gotta change my Drive Form. Okay, lemme select the form, pause, wait 3-5 seconds, unpause, let the animation finish and attack'.

Square probably wont patch it. Thank god for the pause buffer trick

Doing a full install should take away the issue though, right? I think a poster  above pointed that out, unless I misunderstood it.
