Yeah, I know that this game was announced a long time ago. I just felt like an active discussion thread for it would be cool to have, and we can update this thread with news whenever any is released.

 

For those who don't know, Xenoblade Chronicles X is an RPG coming to the Wii U at some point next year. It's a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii, but it doesn't seem to be related to the original game, outside of a species known as the Nopons making an appearance in both. From what we've seen, this one will add mech combat, and allows players to make their own custom characters. Adding all of this on top of what the original game had to offer really makes this feel like it has the potential to be the best JRPG of the current generation. Anyone else excited for the game?

Are NoA any good with LE's for their games? NoE can be really good like between now and the end of the year Mario Maker, Project Zero 5 and Xenoblade X all have LE's confirmed. I hope that NoA treat Xenoblade X well for you the fans over there.

 

Xenoblade Chronicles was also confirmed for our Wii U VC. I already have it on Wii/n3DS, but hey a download version for people who didn't get to play it is great Edit: It's there already.

I'm pretty much giving up on getting the Limited Edition of Dragon Quest Heroes so I can get the LE for this game. It'll suck, but I know I want this one more.

Totally agree! When I first saw the trailer with that big world stage boss that looks like a Telethia I was like ":O OMG THAT'S GOOD (and huge too )!" And I also like many of the new tracks: the Main theme, Black Tar, Melancholia, Primordia (I'm not sure how it's called, but it's Primordia field theme daily version... I love it!), The key we've lost etc. They're very different from the previous XC OST but they're marvelous anyway!

I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of the music samples that were put on the website (Some were really good, but the rest didn't stand out much to be honest), but I've been avoiding listening to any other music from the game, so I'm hoping that the full soundtrack will be amazing. Me too! And we're lucky also because we'll be able to customize our character even later on during the game and not only at the beginning, otherwise I would have spent even much more time trying to create a character I like throughout the whole game!

Is that the DQ Heroes LE with the big chest and stuff? Or slime or... Something haha. I missed out on the LE for the original Xenoblade they did here in Europe (it had a red Classic controller bundled with it) when it came out so I'm not missing out on this one!

Yeah, that one. It has the chest and a giant slime, along with a few other slime-themed things. It looked really nice, but Xenoblade takes a higher priority for me.

Didn't even know of such a thing.

It was a streaming from Gamescom... let's say there were no big news: 3 guys showed some gameplay features, Skell flight, some wandering around Mira's continents... you know, the usual things. I would post the video of the streaming but now I'm using my mobile phone and it seems it won't let me load any video....

Yeah, I'm happy that they're not making one or the other wait this time around. I guess everyone here will get to play it on the 4th! Assuming that most/all of us get it day one, anyway.

As the Nintendo UK store doesn't ship to Ireland, I'm still holding out to see if other retailers are going to get the Limited Edition. I want that edition more than anything, but Amazon UK or Gamestop haven't got it listed so I'm playing the waiting game until pre-orders start listing it. I really hope the game does well.

I hear that. I think the marketing for the game is going to be the deciding factor and given that Star Fox and Mario Tennis are also hitting the system near that time I can't see NoA pushing Xeno. (I think Mario Tennis is still a holiday title so that could push it to December) NoE are pretty good at showing Xeno, for Xenoblade 3D I saw a few ads on TV showcasing the bundle any ways. We also have seen Nintendo release the digital version of the Wii game on Wii U (which I think is still not out in Japan/US). I really don't get why NoA don't support their own games. We are seeing it now with Fatal Frame being digital-only it won't benefit from being advertised. NoA not having Xeno X playable at PAX was silly. The panel was at least a good idea from them I guess. I guess NoA doesn't see any reason to push niche titles, but after Shulk's inclusion in Smash you think it would've boosted the popularity somewhat.
