How would you feel: Hero of Time Trilogy

Posted

A long time ago, I looked at the Official Zelda Timeline, and noticed the huge hole between Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. The recent announcement of Majora 3D brought this back into my mind.

As we know, after the events of Ocarina of Time, Link set off to find Navi, which in turn, caused Majora's Mask. After Majora's Mask, Link leaves back to Hyrule, and that's the last we hear of the Hero of Time in that Timeline. That is, until Twilight Princess. The Hero of Time appears again, but as a spirit, formed from the regrets of the Hero of Time. He has new skills and new experiences that we had never experienced ourselves. So, this leads me to say, how would you feel if the Unannounced Zelda game (not Zelda U) was the final title in the Hero of Time trilogy, filling that large amount of time missing between Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess?

It could be interesting, but the Link we saw in that E3 trailer doesn't quite look like the Hero of time to me.If Zelda Wii U was a sequel to Oot and MM,I feel that the artstyle should have been similar to those games for consistency. The graphics would have been similar to those of Ocarina of Time 3D,but in HD kinda like how Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks look like Wind Waker(With the limitations of the DS).

My theory is that game might take place somewhere after Zelda II because Aonuma said that he wanted the game to be open world like the First game, but of course I could be completely wrong about that,I'm only guessing.

I would to see a third zelda game with the hero of time in it; in fact, it  is possible, but probably not with zelda u because according to how zelda u link looks, he looks like a new incarnation of link.

In no way do I see Zelda U being another Hero of Time title. This Link is either a new incarnation, or an aged Hero of Winds (Toon Link). The art style from The Wind Waker influenced the art style for Zelda U. It doesn't need the consistency in art style, since the toon one wouldn't really fit an older Link. I feel like the setting is perfect for a title in between WW and PH.

That's why I said (Not Zelda U.) I was talking about the Unannounced Title that Nintendo hasn't said much about yet.

It's almight mate :O Not worries!

The possibility is there, especially since the unannounced title is on the 3DS. Unfortunately, I dun see it coming to the Wii U or future console, as the assests of the Hero of Time titles are all ready for the 3DS. I mean, with the New Nintendo 3DS, they can make a grand scale Zelda title, but I doubt they'd really need the new 3DS' CPU to make one (considering OoT and MM are already gran scale games).

But is MM in the same timeline as TP? I thought that MM was in one of the two timelines when Link succeeded (either in the Adult or Child timelines) and TP was in the one where he failed, If they're in different time lines, can they really be called a trilogy? And if TP is in the failed time line then wouldn't the "regret" he talks about be the fact that he couldn't stop Ganon?

TP is in the Child Timeline. It comes after Majora's Mask, but there's a huge gap in between (which I believe has it's own era titled in that space, but has nothing to represent it).

Here's the Timeline:

I like it how Majora's Mask isn't in a sub era like the rest of the zelda games are and the space between Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess in the child timeline doesn't have a sub era either. Maybe they are planning to add one more era in the child timeline and talk about new eras in the timeline as Zelda U gets closer to getting released next year.

How about another game for the Adult Timeline? The gap between PH and ST is very big as well.

Nothing's limiting that since zelda u can basically take place anywhere on the zelda timeline except that it can't be a direct sequel or prequel to any other game.

So is just like the Windwaker trilogy?

WW link has only been in 2 games

Spirit Tracks is a continuation of Windwaker, and Phantom Hourglass which is dub the Windwaker trilogy.

Wind waker and Phantom Hourglass Link are the same link and the Link in Spirit Tracks is a totally new incarnation of Link.

Theres references to Tetra, and Link which explains the Windwaker Trilogy.

I guess you can call it that since people call a link between worlds and a link to the past direct sequels of each other.
