effort values play no part in shinies. individual values used to but after gen 2 not any more. as of right now the chances of encountering a shiny randomly are 1 in 4096. I actually found my first one in x and y! i cant wait for OR/AS tonight!

I did use iv and ev to raise one of my pokemons the way I wanted too. But it is toooooooooo bothersome.

 

By the way, by the time the game was released, how would anyone know which pokemon would give you which EV for defeating it?

Lol, same thing happened to me in White 2 (shiny Lillipup!) and this is what he became.I've encountered a few shinies randomly, traded for others, the usual. My favorite is a shiny Flaaffy I found in SoulSilver. He is now a murderlating shiny Mega Ampharos.

I also found a shiny Zigzagoon,but it was in the original Sapphire

I wonder if GameFreak decided to shiny lock the Pochyena you first face when trying to save the professor. I'll lol if they didn't and see some upload a shiny fail. (There's already one from RSE a while back.)

Like the infamous shiny Pidgey?
