This week has been very...scary,for me and my family. You see,my cusins and uncles from the US came for a visit, and they were staying at my grandparents house. My grandparents have a chow-chow named Kin.He is NOT very friendly, and one of my cusins is a baby. So,while everyone was talking, the baby was eating cookies, when she saw Kin,she threw a cookie at him.Kin didn't noticed it,so the baby went to pick up the cookie and it happened...Kin attacked her.My grandparents took Kin off her,but she was covered in bites,I think he even broke one of her arms!Right now the baby is in the hospital, and Kin has been put to sleep.I just had to let this out somewhere and decided to let it out here.

That's pretty terrible that they put the dog to sleep... I mean, it's the family's fault that the baby was left unattended. Of course a dog is going to play around, and possibly hurt something that small, if you leave both together... not really the dog's fault, eh.

So they left a baby unattended with a mean dog? That has got to be the worst formula in the household. I feel bad for the dog and the baby. When you boil it all down, it ends up being the family's fault the situation even happened and the family's fault that was the outcome.

Oh, poor...well, baby and the dog. Why was he put to sleep? It wasn't the puppy's fault--it was a COOKIE.

Awww that's terrible. Is the baby alright? D: You should never leave a child unattended with animals x.x It's sad that the dog was put to sleep yes, but they should've trained it better D: I mean, if it was trained it wouldn't have attacked most likely. D:

Well,I feel bad for the two of them. But here's the thing, all of us were always telling my grandparents that the dog was old and that his senses weren't that good anymore. My grandparents dissagreed. And so when the dog attacked her, that was kind of the breaking point to it.And the dog had bitten someone else too, acording to what they tell me.And I don't really know how's the baby doing,I just know that she's in the hospital(I think she has a broken arm too),my cusins and uncles are furious that my grandparents didn't tied up the dog or at least put a fence, and my grandparents are shocked.I really don't know what to say at this point.I've gotten near that dog so many times, and the only thing that he had done to me was bark.

Actually, that happens with trained animals, some of them just get out of whack and attack what they find annoying or as apposed to being in their "territory." The dog didn't know better, it was not the dog's fault, it just sensed a different presence and usually when animals realize another animal/being is weak, then their motive is to attack it. :/ That's really sad what happened though, I feel bad for the baby and the dog, but it all comes down to the family's fault if the baby was unattended. It was not necessarily the dog's whole fault. :/ I hope the baby is doing well now, and never leave a young one alone with pets or unattended at that stage.

Same thing with my dog and my little half-brother when he comes to visit along with my father. My dog is a small smooth-coated Chihuahua and she WILL bite hi, but he wants to pet her, but she's afraid. Of course my dog has had plenty of teeth pulled out so the bites only tickle.

Bad parenting, not bad dog.
