Assassin's Creed Victory is announced......*but we just got two games already*

Following the leak of Assassin’s Creed: Victory details today, Ubisoft has released a statement acknowledging the video is genuine.

“It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked,” the publisher told PC Gamer.

“And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public.”

So yes, it’s real, and yes, it’s being developed by Ubisoft Quebec for full release.

“The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date,” Ubisoft continued.

“In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.”

At this stage it’s best not to take other details from the report as gospel – things like a lack of PS3 and Xbox 360 port, while pretty credible, are subject to change before the game’s projected northern autumn 2015 release

But.....we just got two freakin games and the third one is announced already? Also, developed for years my ass.

It's like announcing two brand new car models only to trash those car models as soon as their release by announcing a third one

Assassin's Creed has had a yearly release schedule for a while now. How is this surprising?

Where exactly did I say it was surprising? All I meant is that it's overkill

This year we got two AC games already and at least they could've reserved the announcement until next year before proving this "leaker" right.

The series has been getting a lot of bad press recently, what with Unity being a steaming pile and Rogue being considered a clone of Black Flag. They're probably trying to get people interested in next years game rather than focusing on this year's shit.

But they confirmed the leak(read the link) so now it;s an announcement and no longer a leak.

and I don't believe this PR bullshit where "Oops, the trailer for our game has been leaked once again"....how many times to leaks need to happen before it becomes obvious it's just a PR stunt

Then how about fixing their shit first before rushing into the next game already?

confirming an undeniable leak isn't the same as an actual announcement

it being a PR stunt... just kinda sounds like a conspiracy theory

Not really when it keeps happening over and over and over again. How many times can you get your games leaked?

with a company as huge as Ubisoft? Quite a bit, probably

Then how about fixing their shit first before rushing into the next game already?

Hey, I didn't say it was a good idea for them to announce it or that I agree with them for doing it. Just that that's probably why they did.

It wasn't announced, it was leaked

Yeah, so they say, but most companies tend to deny these kinds of leaks at least at first. Ubisoft went right off the bat saying yes, those leaks are correct, that's our next game. It's suspicious, and in the modern gaming industry, these kinds of strategic "leaks" happen all the time, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. (And even if it was a legit leak, they still should have waited at least till next year to confirm it; they're coming off mighty desperate.)

The leaks were too much to deny, it wasn't like blurry Smash Bros footage or something, it wasn't really something that could easily be faked

Honestly I'd prefer more companies take that stance, it's more annoying than anything else when a leak comes out but the company refuses to acknowledge it

I call BS on that

Even huge companies like Sony has the idea to deny leaks until they have a full announcement ready.

Here it's a clear marketing stunt cuz it's impossible to have a yearly series getting leaked every single time without the company themselves either firing the leaker or planning such thing already to begin with.

And before you say it.Yes I know the CoroCoro scans for the Pokemon franchise but those weren't leaks cuz CoroCoro is an official Japanese gaming magazine where they announce the series first in Japan
