I've heard a lot of plot ideas for when the story will take place, but here is my theory. I believe it takes place during KH Days/ beginning of KH2. Why? Well, the Twilight Thorn pretty much made me think of this. I believe Sora is dreaming in his pod, and some memories of Roxas are leaking INTO him, so possibly, Sora could have been fighting the Twilight Thorn just because Roxas fought it. It's just a thought that Roxas could be possibly be influencing these events, not all of them, but the ones that are chronologically impossible for Sora.

That makes really good sense, nice idea

That sounds pretty cool. And although it's impossible due to current title plots (unless they pulled a fast one) it would be cool if somehow he saw Roxas there, and something happened there making him forget who he is, allowing KHII to work out just sayin

I admit that this is an interesting theory, and may possibly be at least close to the plot, I just don't like the idea of it taking the place while Sora is sleeping. How would that explain anything?

Here's the thing: after playing the entirety of Days and not encountering even a single Twilight Thorn makes this rather...iffy. If Roxas' first encounter with a Thorn was in KH2, and if this theory is correct, that would mean the entirety of 3D takes place over the course of the next 3 days. While I do agree that Roxas is influencing Sora as we've seen him do in KH2, the assumed time frame reallly doesn't hold much ground.

Honestly i think this takes place after coded with data sora and the journal. they both had KH1 Attire. to me it make smore sence. and if "trust" is the main theame of KH3D It then deffantly takes place AFTER KH:Coded

The Twilight Thorn was just an example..I'm not saying just because of the T.T. , the game takes place during Days/KH2. The point of I was trying to make was that Sora may possibly be sleeping, and his dreams are affected by old memories and Roxas. That's all.

hey if it's sora dream about while he was asleep in his pod of what roxas was doin doesn't that mean he was dreamin about xion to since some of soras memerious went into her and couldn't that mean xion could be the final boss battle like in days

The Sora dream theory is a good one too, but hatok has a point too, sora wouldn't be remembering new worlds, let alone dream about them. I dunno, i was hoping for advancement in the storyline, and not some sort of "other story", Re:Coded'll be awesome, but it'll probably look like nothing next to a 3DS title, I have a feeling this'll be a Big Game, almost as big if not bigger than BBS. So I'm hoping for something after coded, they might have the kh1 attire because the game is still in early developement too, ya never know. So far, they've pulled off making a series of awesome games, i think their gonna make this one count to sell kh3, maybe even making it it's prequel.
