I just started to re watch the X and Y pokemon (anime?) since I just beat X, but Oh god... Korrina's voice, why?

Is one voice enough to ruin a entire anime for you?

The X/Y anime actually isn't even that bad from what I saw. It's a major step up from D/P and B/W.

If anything, the anime's better than the game. I thought X/Y was awful. My least favorite in the series.

XY looks like the same shit as DP and BW, save for contests or whatever. Still won't forgive how they shitted upon Team Plasma.

I actually like the anime too, but just not the choice for Korrina's voice actor.

Yes, I was watching that over breakfast.  Her voice definitely takes some getting used to.

Unless you're really slow at reading and the subtitles keep changing before you finish.

Yeah, you do.  I've found that most of the new characters introduced after the start of Diamond and Pearl have decent voices and I don't have a problem with them.  But there are a few (i.e. Candice) that you just have to wonder.

Well I was curious about Korrina's voice, so I looked up a scene with her. I'm not so much concerned with her English voice as I am with what the heck was going on with Ash and his Hawlucha, there was like clapping and dancing and I just didn't understand. X_X And to be honest, I found Ash's voice to be far more annoying/ear-grating than Korrina's.

 

But I haven't actually watched the anime (outside of the movies) since Battle Frontier, so I can't really comment on anything else.

I recently started watching the show again. I skipped 9 seasons 'cause I would occasionally catch an episode or two from those seasons, haha. And platinum is my favorite game in the series.

 

I prefer the story of the games. But I actually like the battles in the show better. It would be awesome if the games had more active battles with dodging and blocking as an option along with your attacks.

 

Also the last episode of Pokemon Origins almost made me cry, haha.

I agree about the battles.  It would be awesome if they were more realistic, but I'm not sure if that's doable.  In the game it pretty much is all based on math and pseudorandom numbers.  Battles in the show resemble how battles would work in the real world.  Winona used Peliper's steal wing as a ground to avoid damage from thunderbolt.  Freaking ingenious.

 

I've been watching the series on and off since I was 8.  And although the newer ones will never have the charm of the original series, they do bring in awesome characters (i.e. Cynthia) and are enjoyable none the less.

I want Poken Tournament to come here so bad, lol.

 

I also love how team rocket is STILL trying to get Ashes Pikachu for no apparent reason. The other day I saw them successfully steal a Scizor from someone. The plan was foolproof. They made a fake gym with the premise of: if you lose, they take your Pokemon to train them, kinda like the daycare, except evil 'cause they'd never give them back, lol. They firetrucked it up anyway by going after Pikachu, haha.
