A Complicated Thought Concerning an HD Version of Dream Drop Distance

Posted

I'm not sure if it's going to happen and HOW it's going to turn out, but I keep having this thought in my head.

If they were to create an HD version of Dream Drop Distance, I keep thinking it might be just like 358/2 Days and Re: Coded. Another cinematic version....

And you guys know about Re: Coded having those 2 new cutscenes, right? I was thinking since Chi isn't available to the US and other countries, perhaps they could add something concerning Chi. Like that one scene about those 6 disciples given a new name, and 5 a prophecy. Just some important things to clarify Chi, and for us to get ready for Kingdom Hearts 3.

But when having this thought, to me--I just believe there are so many flaws in this thought.

But yeah... Those are my thoughts, if this HD version of Dream Drop Distance COULD happen.

I don't see why you think DDD won't have the gameplay

it's not like there are any other games to go with it, so how could they sell it as a game if it's just cutscenes?

Include it with KH III

Since we still have no idea what they are planning to do about Chi, I  would think that they will release DDDHD and include the key components from Chi as cutscenes or a journal type thing.

That's not true at all. The problem with 358/2 Days & Re:coded is they would take some amount of work as an actual remake. Division 3 confirmed a HD remaster of KH3D is possible.

A remaster is possible. I mean, they used some of the assets OF 3D to help make 1HD, so... it'd be easy enough to do.

Personally I think they'll just release 3DHD and call it good, but some Chi inclusions would be nice.

Include it with KH III

why rerelease the game after kh3

why rerelease the game after kh3

I didn't say after I said with. Like Days was with 1.5 and Re:coded was with 2.5.

in other words it won't be out until AFTER KH3. Surely they want people to play the games before KH3 comes out, not dump five hours of cutscenes on them when they open up their KH3 box

You asked how they could sell 3D as a video volume, including it with 3D would be how that would work. Personally, I would prefer it to be playable but I simply answered your question as to how they could get away with not doing that. Seriously, if you didn't want an answer than why ask.

And people may want to review the whole story before jumping in to the new stuff, For example, most people watched Re:Coded fist when 2.5 came out because of the new scenes but I, for example, played KH II FM first. And it would be out at the same time because it would be a package. As far as the company is concerned, if they have the same release date, it's a simultaneous release of both games, nether one comes before or after the other. Just because you would personally play KH 3 first, doesn't mean that's the first released, others may watch 3D first. Some people may play KH3 first, Some may go by original release order and some may go by the timeline, either of the last two put 3D before KH3. Realize that other people play differently than you.

disagreeing with your point isn't the same as not wanting to hear it

and there's a pretty big difference between re:coded cutscenes and DD cutscenes

two hours of difference.

and as a film, new scenes would need to be added for continuity. Five hours of recap is a lot to stomach. That's most of an average person's day

Me, I'd spread 3D over a 2 days, two hours one day, 3 hours the next. Then play KH III. I've waited this long, what's 2 more days once I have it in my hands? Not saying either way is wrong, just that including cutscenes of 3D with KH3 doesn't inherently make 3DHD come out after KHII

Oh... So, just a HD game or what?

That's why I said this thought of mine, may have flaws...
