Okay so I am fighting Victor and Victoria in Eternia but they are way too difficult compared to other enemies and bosses. I barely hurt them (got them around 45000 HP).

Is there a way to beat them? I know of their weaknesses, but I don't have any Light moves or Dark moves. Does anyone know how to beat them? They are really stronger than I thought.

If it helps, my characters are...

Tiz: Level 48

High Job Level In order (Greatest to Least): Valkyrie [LVL 10], Pirate [LVL 8], Ninja [LVL 8], Merchant [LVL 7], and Ranger [LVL 6].

Edea: Level 48

High Job Level in Order (Greatest to Least): Monk [LVL 10], Black Mage [LVL 9], and Swordmaster [LVL 9].

Agnès: Level 48

High Job Level in Order (Greatest to Least): White Mage [LVL 10], Time Mage [LVL 10] and Performer [LVL 7].

Ringabel: Level 49

High Job Level in Order (Greatest to Least): Knight [LVL 10], Spell Fencer [LVL 10], and Thief [LVL 7].

Oh and by the way, no spoilers.

I suggest going back and leveling up your jobs, then going into the boss fight

You don't have to master anything, but you should be level 10 or 9

Tiz: Ninja Ability: Theif

Spam the drain health ability from the theif job and use the ninja attacks

You need a valkryie, white mage and black mage, also. Add whatever other jobs abilities you want through ''ability''

Oooo girl, I know how you feel. I got stuck on them for a while too, but this is what I did from what I can remember, if you're still having trouble:

What I ended up doing was giving Agnes the poison-nullifying accessory, and had her main Performer with access to White Magic (though I also grinded job levels for a bit beforehand). That way, because of that special ability where the Performer's stats increase by 5% every turn until they cap at 125%, she would be able to spam White Magic skills while also buffing the party up and neutralizing the status buffs Victor uses, and she would be able to act as a necromancer if everyone dies from poison.I also had Tiz main with Pirate and spammed the buff / debuff skills too since I believe they stack with Performer's moves, and proceeded to wreck with Berserk. I don't remember what class Edea was, but I left Ringabel as a Black Mage.It might help to level everyone up until they hit the 50s or so too. The area outside of Edea's hometown is the best place to (job) level grind until you get access to the next chapter.

What level should Performer be? She has some nice buff moves so far but I don't know about being a nice "necromancer".

Beserk hits hard? Since when?

Sorry, I should have specified that I had Agnes's sub-ability set as White Mage so she had access to the Cure, Esuna, and Raise spells so she could undo the damage Victoria can do. I don't remember what stat boosts I equipped for her, but I just remember setting Buff Up on her so as long as she stays alive she doesn't have as much trouble dying, and with poison being nullified she wouldn't go down for a couple of rounds at least, or at least long enough for her to spam Brave for 4 turns.

For Tiz, I set one of his boosts with the P. Attack Up 20% one, and in the battle after Agnes would buff the party's attack up, and having Tiz use those Pirate moves that reduce the enemy's defense, if you let him go he can hit the 9999 damage limit per attack pretty easily.

Really the only thing you need to focus on is negating the buffs Victor uses, and undoing the damage Victoria can do.

Oh thats easy. And Ringabel and Edea are just there for attacking right?

So I can level up anywhere on Eternia right? No specific location?

Preferably, right outside Edea's  hometown.

You can use reflect to get some opposite elemental damage on  each of them, since Victor will use light attacks that hurt Victoria, and vice versa

You're probably going to want to take out Victoria first, she's the more dangerous of the two, but you're gonna need to be careful about him buffing her

Oh and uh

no spoilers but

once you get a bit further into the story... heh

Oh and another question I've been wanting to ask.

If you get a support ability with the Job you main, does that support ability automatically work since its the job you main or do you need to add it to the "Support Abilities" in order for it to be used?

That's so dumb, so many support abilities I want to use tho.

Yeah, I just let Ringabel run with black magic and Edea with physical attacks since Tiz and Agnes were pretty much the only way I got through that fight. That's one thing I didn't like about Bravely Default since there's some places where the fights are ridiculously easy, but then they suddenly ramp up because there's no real way to deal with dark and light magic at that point other than to use Reflect on yourselves, which unfortunately also means you can't use Cure spells without them being reflected at the enemy too.

Right outside of Edea's hometown is pretty good at that point for farming jp and levels, though once you get to chapter 5 there's this one group of enemies outside of Florem that can give out an insane amount of JP to where the experience gap issue to level up and master jobs is pretty much gone (along with the actual level experience since the amount of exp needed to level up stops scaling around lv 80). Luckily the next boss you have is the final one for Chapter 4, and he's much easier to deal with than Victor / Victoria.

Unfortunately you actually have to equip support abilities even if they're associated with a job class, and you only ever get 5 "slots" from what I've seen. I actually haven't beaten BD yet since I stopped on Chapter 5, so yeah it kinda sucks.

I beat them up. They are much easier after I used your things.

I put poison-trinkets on them so they wont get poisoned at all.

I put reflect on everyone other than Victor.

It worked sooo well. Thank you so much for the help! And Buff Up is amazing!

I'm now combing Agnes's White Mage with Spiritmaster and Edea's Black Mage with Arcanist. Hopefully they work out well, they fit together so much.

Definitely a good late game combo, Spiritmasters and Arcanists are exaggerated versions of Black and White Mage, so their strengths are way higher, but their weaknesses (namely HP) are worse

But combine them and you have one of the best fair builds.

Unfortunately, like most FF games, magic becomes woefully underpowered as time goes on. You end up needing to equip a bunch of abilities just to make your Blakc Mage do as much damage as a physical fighter, and even then you'll burn through MP like nothing else. Kinda a shame. It's why classes should automatically have any abilities they unlock

If you want to talk unfair builds, master the Time Lord or whatever it's called and the Valkyrie, then set auto attack to super jump and equip an ability that rasies your BP by one per turn (Haste World or something like that)

Provided you have high agility, you can beat nearly any boss by just leaving your 3DS somewhere for a while.

Though it does cause the game to crash sometimes
