I asked Takashi Tokita, the head of division 9 if there are any plans to remake Final Fantasy IV Interlude, unfortunately he said there are not.

Ask them if they'll remake All The Bravest!  :D

...why would they remake that

So it can be played on modern hardware.

No need it's still fully playable on modern hardware and it's garbage by Nomura.

but it's a non essentially filler thing meant to be packaged WITH the other games

also it's not very good

All The Bravest is a masterpiece.

Yeah, but it's digital only so it works.

Shouldn't that require just a port and/or a remaster? Maybe he didn't understand when you said remake.

Nah, he understood me. Nah, they'd remake it. Very easy to remake that after they did The After Years.

If they remake it then it should be a entire FFIV collection set.

But the Interlude runs off FF4's engine

Not the 3D one.

there's a 3D interlude...?

why

No, that's the point of this topic. There's a 3D engine that runs FF3, 4 and TAY.

oh, then we misunderstood each other

I was just saying that since The Interlude uses the FF4 engine, it'd probably use the 3D FF4 engine

Of course it would, and that's what I'd want.

...so what were you talking about with the after years remake?

They remade The After Years in 3D after they remastered FFIV, so the assets and so are on are there so it would be easy to do.

...does interlude even USE any after years assets?

Wouldn't know, never played it. But The After Years remake used a ton of IV's.

I haven't played it since shortly after the PSP remake came out, but since it takes place one year after FF4 all the regular sprites are used. You revisit dungeons from FF4 with basically no change, and characters like Ceodore are either babies or not born yet. Even the Mysterious Girl doesn't look like she does in TAY, they reuse Rydia's sprite

So I imagine if they wanted to remaster it, they'd do it alongside The After Years

if I had to take a guess, i'd say square doesn't WANT it remastered because it's not a very good addition to the story
