Cleared Type-0 HD 1st Time (23 Hours Played); Impressions

Positives-

1. It feels like a classic FF title: In terms of the world map and the towns you can visit, it feels like the older titles made by Squaresoft back in the 90's

2. The combat system is amazing: Killshots and Breakshots add a level of difficulty to the combat; you can't just spam attack and hope to win a battle; the enemies in this game can dodge and they often abuse it unless you take time to wait for the right moment to strike. There are also some challenging bosses and monsters you run into later in the game which will prove difficult to defeat (especially in the final dungeon)

3. The game is designed to be played more than once: There are more missions and extra cutscenes that you can unlock during a second playthrough; the enemies are also tougher and hand out better rewards after being defeated

4. The somewhat violent setting/battles in the game are refreshing from what we FF and KH fans are used to in a normal FF title; this IS a game about a war between 4 nations after all

5. The graphics are a huge improvement over the PSP version; while it doesn't truly look like a PS4 game the graphics are amazing to look at

6. Its fast to platinum. I've only played for 2 days so far (23 hours in-game clock) and im at 76% trophy completion. I plan on getting the plat within this week or during spring break

7. You can switch between Japanese and English voices! I've always wanted this feature in a FF game and i was really annoyed that we had to pay for it for Lightning Returns. I only hope Square Enix also implements it in XV because Noctis's english VA is annoying to listen to

Negatives-

1. There are 14 characters in this game to pick from which means you are going to spend ALOT of time leveling each one of them up. There is a trick you can use with the secret trainer in the arena to get unlimited EXP by manipulating the PS4's date and time settings (takes about 30 minutes) to fully level a character from 1-99 this way but i haven't used it

Overall, i give this game a 9/10. I can say without a doubt that its one of the most fun FF games i've played so far, and i've played nearly all of them. If you are on the fence about this one, i suggest getting it right away. It also comes with the XV demo in the day one edition

I my self just picked this game up and I have to agree with you. The only complaint I have is the camera and how it makes everything around you blury.

LR's Japanese voice over pack was free initially and then we had to pay for it.

Great review though!
