Endless Blade Waltz; Rebirth RP Thread!

Posted

Another night in the faux Inn... The man, covered in his brown shroud, sat across from you and the rest of the people from the day before, and he began once again.

"Back again today, I see..."

The man looked around at those seated, a faint cackle escaped from his throat. With no less than the arrival of the first round of drinks, it started again.

"Our story starts with some young lads and maiden's, dancers and fighters, grace, and brutality."

With that, your mind melted away, the images of multiple people began to float in your mind as the world around you, this inn, seemed to almost vanish...

"Our first scene: In the school grounds, midday, the students have been let out for lunch break..."

Day one: DNA of the Heart

Midday, Year 278, ENDLESS

The sun hung above the school of barbarians and entertainers quite lightly this day. One could only dream of such a nice day to be outside, the sun was just right, it smelled of Spring, fresh grass and newly-bloomed flowers peppered the air in their unique smell, the near-by lake shimmered  in the sunlight. A day like this was not one to be spent in a classroom, so when that bell rung, not a soul, not even the faculty could resist such a glorious day.

At the center of the school's inner grounds, a fountain sat, water gently bubbling out of the faucets at the top. A blade and a ribbon, sculpted in stone, sat atop this fountain. And soon, student's decorated the benches near by. Chatting, eating, the like. Some of hem hoped to go for a quick swim in the lake before class started again, others were just genuinely glad they were able to smell the fresh air of the out doors as they sat on the cobble stone floor in the quad....

The lake, many called in Fluorspar Lake, was in the wide open, save a few oak trees in the landscape, providing shade and a spot for a swing, and the small cliff overlooking it which many a person dived into. The shimmering, clear water showed the fluorspar gemstones that could be found in its sand....

(Alright! So, for your starting post, you have either the choice of the School Quad, or the Lake to start at. For sake of ease, when entering an area you do not know much about the appearance of, put some sort of mark to indicate this. Something like a "..." or a dash will do.)

Feeling stronger, and with his allies charging in, Syfe didn't waste time moving along with them. He leaped into the air, and somersaulted down, his blades spinning as he fell, glowing with power as he unleashed the charges attack.

Alexander took advantage that everyone was attacking at the same time, Hektor from the back, derik from the left, shela on the right, Oume in the front and Syfe in the air, Alexander decided to compliment the attacks with his own, going right after Oume's attack, in the front, with a powerful jab of his halberd,

After charging for two turns, the blue-haired warrior decided it was time to unleash her charged attack upon Skyla.  The instructor had been bombarded with attacks already, and Shela sensed the end was growing near.  Using all of her strength, Shela hoisted her sword at shoulder level and charged for the woman, hoping to deal quite the amount of damage.

Rija smiled at the huge amount of charging frenzy. This was going perfectly. Well, maybe not perfectly, but pretty well. In hopes that she would be able to assist the others land their blows, Rija summoned another spike of earth from the ground towards Skyla's back.

Hektor clutched his side, which the earlier blow from skyla hit, not much blood coming off, frankly he was more worried about his clothing, luckily it didn't suffer much damage, reinforced clothes are wonderful indeed, he clutched his edged cane, following shortly after Oume, he ran at Skyle, and circled around her, to try and hit her from behind, along with Oume's attack in the front.

Oume wants to finish this as soon as possible, and decides to attack without thought. Charging at her mindlessly swinging, "JUST DIE!!!"

Alyssa smiled towards Rija, gracious for the boost, though she doubted she would need it. After all, she was just going to help her out right back. Alyssa summoned the orb of water once more, and shot it towards Rija.

The Soldier, breathing heavily from the damage done, smiled graciously towards Alyssa with a nod.

(Sorry guys for the late response, today's been a hell of a day...)

(Soak in the victory guys, I'm not posting end-game results tonight because yeah...)

Oume went over to the headmaster and stuck one of his swords in to the headmaster and knelt down next to his body. "Why...Why did you kill all of your students?" Oume asked while twisting the blade. "I wish you could feel this so you could know how it felt for the students." Oume stood up and pulled the sword out of the headmaster, and did the same thing to the rest of the teachers, after that Oume headed for the exit. As he went towards the exit he looked at all the students that were in the pits, all the scared, and helpless looks. He got to the doors and opened them, the smell of blood escaping his nose he walked to the fountain and looked at his reflection. He turned away to look at his sword and was about to dip it into the fountain when he stopped, he looked at the blood and said, "I'm sorry but I can't clean you off... I am keeping this blood as a stain to remember what happened today, and who I couldn't save."

It was over.  They had won.  Shela wiped her brow, relieved that the terror that had struck the entire school was finally down.  Still, it wouldn't bring back the lives lost that day.  It was like her village all over again.

People were in danger, and I failed to protect them.

Apparently Oume took it harder than herself.  She watched with wide eyes as he violently stabbed into each instructor, voicing his rage and despair.  On the one hand Shela couldn't blame them at all.  She too had wanted to see them suffer, but in her eyes they had.  They didn't live to see the result of their actions, and painful deaths did they encounter.  She only wished that she could've killed them sooner to prevent it all, but of course that wasn't going to happen.  As Oume walked away she began to call his name, but he was gone before she could even arrest his attention.  Shela sighed, sheathing her sword before turning to the others.  "Guys, thank you," she said, shifting to each one in turn before nodding to the ladies.  "And thank you for joining us.  Your lives were in danger but you took the chance to help us out anyway.  We couldn't have done it without all of you."  Shyly she glanced over at Alexander and tilted her head.  "Er, sorry I didn't stay on the window ledge."

Runa lowered his sword. The fallen students had been avenged, but he doubted that by just taking the lives of the perpetrators would be worth any value to the innocent lives lost. From the window Rune couldn't help but to cheer and clap at the victory. Yet at the same time he was absolutely heartbroken. From where he sat he could see the bleeding, rotting corpses that simply lay in their pits. The little life that remained in any of them slowly fading from their eyes. It was a sight he would never forget. "Rune! Get down here!" Runa yelled. Rune pursed his lips. "What if I fall into a pit?!" "I'll catch you!" Runa insisted, extending his arms. Rune pouted, looking around as he carefully stood up, wary of the broken glass that began to cut him beneath his feet. "Alright! 3...2...!" Rune then jumped from the window, all the way to the stage. Runa began to pace. "I got him I got him!" He yelled before Rune landing right on him, the twins flopping to the ground with a loud THUD. "You weigh a TON!" "Compared to you I'm a leaf!" The twins hissed at each other as they stood up again. Rune then pushed his brother away and ran to Syfe. "I'm sorry I was useless from the window! I owe you a big one, Syfe!" Rune pouted, feeling he had let his newly made partner down. Runa brushed off dust from his shoulders. "Regardless. We have a small problem." Runa said as he glanced up. "The students are dead. And so are the professors. Who is to say that when we go get help they'll think we did all of this?" Runa asked. After all, they were the only ones left from an entire academy...

"We don't have the time, money, or resources to pull off something like this." Derik said, sheathing his blades. he collapsed, exhaustion was not far off of a way to explain how Derik was at that moment. However, the fight was not over.

Though their teachers now lay as corpses, or seemed to, Skyla sat up. She coughed blood up, looking at the group. "Dispicable welps... Though we end here, so will you all. Our little friend is still probably hungry, that pit didn't have every student in it, so prepare to die by its hands. Long Live Dadrea..." She expired, finally, as Derik began to think...

And then...

Boom

It sounded like something mighty heavy slammed it's foot upon a stone floor. The sound of metal bending and snapping and bones snapping...

Clang

Crash, snap...

The entire building started to shake like it were to collapse in any second. The doors were opened, it was time to go!

Timed Mission

Escape the Auditorium, and quickly... Something big is coming...

(Damn you riki im at the beach and have to podt oj my phone)

Alexander was relieved that it was all over. Hektor was readjusting his clothes and his tie after the fight. However they both listened to skylas words only for the building to start crumbling. Or it looked like it was anyway.

Hektor started running for the exits. But stopped midway to wave at the others to follow. Alexander followed suite. Sprinting for the exits.avoiding holes previously made and what not.

Rune and Runa were just about to continue to bicker, until they heard the large thumps...and felt the whole place shake to such thumps. It? What the hell was it? "What..." Rune muttered, Runa glancing around as his imagination began to run wild. He didn't want to think about it too much. "I didn't think the academy had a mascot?" Runa scoffed, hurrying right behind Alexander and Hektor. "If we want to get out before it catches us we better get going, now!" Runa suggested as he ran towards the doors. Rune gulped and looked around at the rest of the survivors. "W-Well, running away right now sounds like a good idea! I know you just defeated three instructors...but whatever that is sounds way out of our league!" Rune hummed, hurrying to the doors as well. "Come on Syfe, everyone!"

(I didn't know the doors were still locked, and no one said anything so Oume walked to the fountain outside... Do you want me to change it?)

(I didn't know the doors were still locked, and no one said anything so Oume walked to the fountain outside... Do you want me to change it?)

(No, you're fine, I meant it like "the doors were open since the enemies were gone" kind of thing, you're fine)

(Alright, just wanted to be safe...Didn't want to die over something as minuet as that.)

Shela glanced up, feeling a bit less victorious upon discovering that Skyla was still alive, even if barely.  The instructor bid them warning before biting the dust officially, and that's when she heard it . . . .

It was very ominous indeed.  She didn't know precisely what it was, but she knew that she had no chances of defeating it.  The others began to grow alarmed, making their way toward the exit.  It didn't take long for Shela to take similar action, walking backward slowly, eyeing the pit, until turning around and sprinting to a run.  She sidestepped around Rune and Runa, making it for the doors.  A part of her wondered where Oume was and where he'd disappeared to in his fit of rage, though she only hoped that he had made it out of the building for good.

While her next step was uncertain, she certainly hope that she could right the wrong that went on that day.

"Yeah, I'm on it Rune," Syfe said in response to his partner. "I don't wanna be crushed by the building either." He said, anxiety turning into sarcasm as he ran towards the door. Rija grabbed Alyssa by the arm, who still stood, shocked and terrified by the noises, like a deer in headlights.

"Come on now, we've almost made it!" Rija grunted towards the girl, pulling her towards the door. Fortunately, it sank in for Alyssa quickly enough, and she was able to run alongside Rija as they made their way outside the doors.

With the escape of all the surviving students, the building collapsed in on itself, Derik only barely making the escape himself. From the dust of the Auditorium, rose a massive beast, unlike anything the students were taught to face.

It had a long, bird-like beak, however the head resembled some sort of shielded lizard of some kind. It was ginormous, with spikes and horns, the head had two noticeably long tusks that bridged the side of it's "beak", curling into this thing's skull. It's body was covered in runic markings, it's skin a steely grey and a almost ethereal blue. The fur was long and matted; there were red spots on it, everywhere, primarily around the beak. Weather this was just coloration of of a meal, was unknown. The massive trunks he had for legs were covered in hair, and had claws extended on it's... Paws? Who knows what the hell it was. It lacked ears, at least ones that one could actually tell existed... And it was fast. There was no getting away from this beast...

Boss Fight: The Chimera

(Tutorial: Boss Fights

Unlike your normal fight, a fight with a boss is aloud to be more cinematic, in a sense. Generally you end up facing larger creatures or important figures who affect the story and it's outcome, and as such, though the combat will still be turn-based, you're aloud more freedoms in your posting and technique as to make it feel more like a "boss". Climb on it's back and stab it or target the neck, should you wish! Creative freedoms are encouraged here, go ham. Otherwise, generally, a boss fight will only contain one or in rare occasions two enemies, but never more than, for sake of fairness. Unlike in normal fights, a boss will always have at least 1000 HP or greater, an amount that no normal person can achieve. be wary, in MOST Boss Fights, if you're dead at the end of it (When the last Hit Points are removed) that's the end! Don't let your teammates die here, you need everyone you can get to assist you!)

As the beast emerged, an item fell from the wreckage to Hektor, a monocle once held by Instructor Jan. It may prove some use here...

(Credo...god damn you...)

Hektor had to hold onto his hat so it wouldn't fall off as the building crumbled, only for him to hold it ever tigher as a beast came out of the ruins of the auditorium, a beast like none he ever saw before, hulking in size, he felt like an ant against it, "Well now, this is interesting..." He said with not a single tone of fear in his voice, a gentleman's bravery...

However he felt something drop to his feet, a monocle, something he knew very well what it was, he quickly picked it up, positione himself at a good distance away from the best, well, as well as could be expected, the thing could still cover the distance in a few seconds, he put on the monocle to see through it, aiming at the beast.

Oume heard a big boom come from the auditorium. He ran over to see what was up and saw the chimera, "Uhhh, give me a break." Oume says with a growl. He noticed Hektor pick up something, he got a little closer to notice that it was a monocle. "Hey, what the heck is that for?"

As Hektor stared through the glass at the beast, more details showed up on it, until it made a sound.

"Analysis complete."

Item added to Inventory: Scan Glass.

In your Items index, you can enable the Scan Glass and Hektor will scan the enemy and gain extra data on them, such as weakspots or things that will help finish the enemy off. Consumes the user's turn, but not Hektor's. This one is on the house.

Destroying the enemy's beak and tusks first will render it unable to attack with anything besides jumping-based attacks, which can be avoided much easier. The sides of its head appear soft and lacking plating, likely rather than a normal ear, it has a "drum" with a layer of skin over it to protect it. Attacking there may stun it as well as deal extra damage.

(Holy shit.)

(I'l post in an hour as soon as I come back home)

(Wait, do we follow horizontal order or number order?)

(The number by your name determines order, I.E. Alyssa is first, and Hektor is second)

(And I'm assuming that Oume and Shela can post in either order since they're both 3?)
