Hajime Tabata (game director of Crisis Core) made a few posts about Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, a game which I believe he's not actually involved in.

 

"KH Re:Coded is quite an amazing achievement," wrote Tabata. "It's developing into a very enjoyable game. The graphics and action are the highest level of DS. The gameplay is full of ideas and service."

 

(I think "service" here means "fan service.")

 

Tabata believes that Re:Coded could be the most enjoyable KH game yet.

 

The thing that seems to most impress him is that the game isn't just "interesting," but is "fun."

 

"It's a game that will give you the pure feeling of 'Ah, this is fun.' It fully realizes its concept. This is just the impression of someone watching the development from nearby, but I believe it's a game that you can really look forward to."

 

Nomura confirmed later that there would be no bundle version for Re:Coded.

Just read it over there, coincidentally. The whole "no bundle" bit was expected; it's not like there needs to be one anyways, what with the overall popularity of the DS and all.

 

Interesting that Tabata's the one saying this. I didn't think he had anything to do with KH. I'd say "If Tabata said it, it must be true!" but that's old ^^;

Eh, I don't too exited over bundles anyways. Hopefully all of these people talking about the gameplay are right..

There wouldn't be a bundle anyway, no need for a DSi XL Bundle, its too old for one.

ReCoded looks nice but its basically the second rehash they've done Im mean it even rehashes CoM, I get the feeling the only great thing about it will be the 3D teaser

I didn't think there would be a bundle. With the 3DS about to come out before march of next year. I think the ds is dieing!

Either way, it's still the most popular handheld right now. If there's something Nintendo knows how to do, it's make good/popular handhelds.

yeah, plus the 3DS is coming out next year with all my favorite games like new star fox remake, LoZ, etc. The psp is going to get owned^^

i love sony but i agree, the psp is gonna get owned. kingdom hearts, assassins creed, metal gear, ocarina of time and 3D without the glasses. i cant wait! still... poor psp

It looks terrible so far.

I doubt it can be worse than CoM, though.

To be very honest this game doesn't look very promising.. But still I'll play it.

I'm not really seeing why people harbor so much dislike to this game. Sure, it uses previous worlds (In completely new ways, mind you) but even if there weren't the alternate gameplay styles and such, and was just a rehash of KH1, it would be KH1 Birth By Sleep.

But nobody ever states what their problem with it is, it's just 'It sucks' 'It doesn't look good'

So what's the problem? It's got the best possible graphics for the DS. The gameplay is pretty much BBS, with it's own unique commands and debugging. The story finally explains what happens after KH2. There's a secret ending. The story has been expanded. New cutscenes.

I'm pretty sure most people just aren't giving it a chance, based on their own reasons.

Meaning, Neither CoM nor Re:coded are KH1 rehashes. Did we do the exact same thing we did in KH1? Nope.

COM in the first place rehashed story elements from KH I for most Card Worlds except for Riku's story and between Floors just to increase game length. Coded does the same except for Disney Castle and for further elaboration/retcons for KH I , plus the last level features Data Sora trawling through Castle Oblivion, SE rehashed a rehash. I cant wait for BBS cause I know it'll somehow redeem everything SE do wrong for KH.

 

Btw despite what I've said I still think it looks fun I know I'll buy it SE have had me hook line and sinker for 7 years. I just wish they showed more integrity when they told COM & Coded's stories

Well the stories in Chain of Memories and Coded are completely different from the ones in KH1. They just use the same characters and setting is all. And the parts in between floors weren't added for length, they're pretty much the entire plot.

Just visiting the same location doesn't make it a rehash, and Coded is so unlike KH1 that it can be counted as even less of a rehash.

I didn't mind the levels themselves I just the cut and past stories in them were lousy, they're just a different way of telling the events but in essence its the same story. As opposed to KH II & BBS which use same locations with different stories

This game looks alright. I will definitely get it. I hope it is as fun as it says it is.

Because this game is more aimed toward cassual gamers vs days, I think when he says the game will be "fun" he is more talking to the main audience. Either way I think I can enjoy the game on the "casual" level but it won't have the same level of intensity that I loved in the other titles.
