Since Ventus is pretty much a confirmed return in KH3 and Roxas has a good 75% chance of appearing from all the hints we've had from 3D and Nomura.

 

Here's a few thoughts:

 

Sora's heart aged over the years, so could Ventus' heart have aged?

 

Will this result in Ventus looking older?  His aged heart could return into his young body and as the heart can mold the body's appearance he could look older.

 

Roxas must have grown a heart during his time alive, he cried and felt enough emotions to be human.Plus the 'Key to Return Hearts' implies his return, so if he does return- where will his body come from? His body isn't his own, it's Soras'.

 

This spawns another thought:

 

We know Roxas is Sora's nobody with Ventus' appearance. When Sora became a heartless his own heart fell to darkness, his leftover body still had Ventus' heart so that makes Roxas appearance. And Roxas body is essentially Sora's body. Ventus' heart was left in Sora's body and Roxas is the body of Sora.

 

So Roxas must have had Ven's heart in him .

 

So, during his Org 13 days Roxas had his own growing heart and so he must have had Ven's heart.

 

So Ventus must have saw everything Roxas saw and felt his pain.

 

I hope Roxas gets his own unique appearance, don't you think he'll get angry/upset once he finds out that his appearance isn't even his own? He's already not meant to exist and this could push him off the edge slightly. Or he might already know and have come to terms with it.

I'm not sure if you could say Ventus's heart has aged. It's true the heart influences the appearance of the body, but Ven's heart is dormant so under those conditions I don't think it was in a state where it could have aged, so I don't think we will see an older looking Ventus.--however that's just me.

 

And yes it's true Roxas had his own heart growing, as well as Ven's heart during his time with the Organization, however Ven's heart returned to Sora again in KH2 I believe, when Roxas joined back with Sora.

 

Although again, I'm not sure if Ven could have seen and felt Roxas's pain as his heart was asleep. 

 

As for Roxas getting a new appearance, well I'd actually prefer him not to, simply because I'm so used to how he's appeared in all the games thus far. But hey maybe it's possible.

 It's more than just being repaired --it needs to awaken as well or be in slumber forever like stated by Yen Sid in BBB ..If Ven's heart was fine and awake it prolly would've returned to his body like Kairi's did when Sora released their hearts in KH1. Also Ven's heart didn't show any signs of awakening until Xion's death. Roxas' heartbroken emotions awakened the ability to use Ven's keyblade. Since DDD takes place after all this occurred ( and after KH2 and Re:coded) we see signs after the fact of Ven starting to awaken .We even see his heart start to respond in several instances in DDD - when Vanitas appears, when he tries to protect Sora with his armor, and finally when we see him crack a smile in CO

 

4: Why can Roxas dual-wield?

Because he can use both Sora’s and Ventus’s Keyblades.



 Sora can wield two Keyblades at once because he has Ventus’s as well as
 his own. As Roxas is a part of Sora, he also can use two. In Days, Roxas
 awakened his ability to dual-wield after fighting Xion. In KHII, once
 Sora absorbed Roxas, he could also dual-wield. Roxas awoke his ability to dual-wield through his will to not forget Xion, who also wielded a Keyblade.

 

As for what his appearance would be = it will be as others remembered him to be and how he remembers himself to be.( like stated in KH2)
