Which only needs to be done one time anyway, really.

Get a console that's going to die in a year or two, or get a console that's going to have an amazing library.

PS4 & Xbox One could well have amazing libraries.

Exactly. They might. They don't yet. You should never buy anything simply because it might be worth it some unspecified day in the future. At least the Wii U has lots of good exclusive games right now.

Yeah, if you like Nintendo games.

Where if you buy a console that's going to last awhile you'll get games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XV, Uncharted 4, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Shadow of Mordor, Life is Strange, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Hitman 6, Just Cause 3. List goes on.

Over half of those are available/have been confirmed for PC, too. Unless I'm obsessed with Naughty Dog, there's no reason for a PS4, and unless I'm obsessed with Halo, there's no reason for an Xbone. So I really just need a high end gaming PC and whatever console Nintendo comes out with next to play 98% of all future video games.

All that said, if you don't like Nintendo games, that's fine. But if you don't want a Wii U, then Xbox One or PS4 are decent enough. There's just no fantastic reasons to get one or both of those over a decent gaming PC.
