KHDays Why Does He Remember Instead?

Well, I was just re-playing Days, and this is kind of petty, but did you notice when Roxas was saying to Riku how he was going to free Kingdom Hearts to make everything normal, and that they were all going to have ice cream together? How come Roxas doesn't remember Xion's name, even though he spent much more time with her, but Riku does? Is it because he's holding her Keyblade?

I think that IS why. Just cuhs of the Keyblade. But when Riku turns into Ansem and when DiZ is talking to him, you see the cutscene on the bottom screen of Axel, Roxas, and Xion on the clocktower and him completely forgetting Xion.

Well, if you put both our theories together, you get that Roxas was already starting to forget her the moment she went back to Sora. Then, she was completely forgotten after his battle with Riku.

The reason Roxas couldn't remember her anymore was because when Roxas defeated Xion all her memories of her were starting to fade away once she "returned" to Sora. Xion was just a failed replica of Sora created by Sora's memories. So since she was made of memories she also was able to absorb more of his memories. It's like what Namine said, once she goes back to Sora nobody will remember her. There won't be "her" to remember. That's the reason Roxas couldn't remember her name or anything. The reason Riku remebered her a little was also because of the oblivion keyblade Roxas threw to him at memories skyscraper. first of all its cause xion was earased wich means no more memories of her but you are right about the keyblade thing that keyblade was memories of her sooo ya

When Xion faded away, everyone lost the memories of her but when Riku was holding the Oblivion, Riku was able to remember Xion somewhat.

Well, cheesy enough as it sounds, a part of her is inside the Oblivion that Riku was using because it symbolized Roxas' promise to Xion to free Kingdom Hearts.

my theroy is that.......she is only wiped from his memory because riku remebers her, so does namine,and also sora because maybe well really idk its kinda hard to explain over the computer.......(but i will try) *siff* *sniff* *deep breath* well here is an interesting thought from proof of the game...riku might remeber who she is because he is not a heartless nor nobody plus he spent alot of time with her. Sora remebers her because she is practicly part of him and the proof that he knows her is when he is getting his new outfit he says "Now the 5 of us oh i mean 6 of us can fight." or somewher close to that anyway he remebers her some how. Now for namine she remebers her because well she messed Roxas's memory to make her this was proven when you find out that xemnas says his way to obtain kh by haveing 2 keyblade weilders on his side. Xion is Sora's memories. She never existed to begin with. There was nothing to remember, which is why every trace of her disappeared when she was absorbed by Roxas.

No, no he doesn't. Roxas remembers her as well, but he's blinded by anger and vengeance and has more difficulty accessing the few remaining memories of her as they disappear. Riku though, wielding Oblivion at the time, had Xion "speaking through it".

 

Sora remebers her because she is practicly part of him and the proof that he knows her is when he is getting his new outfit he says "Now the 5 of us oh i mean 6 of us can fight."

Sora's not the exception to this rule. He doesn't remember her either. And that was a reference to Roxas being the sixth person. In total, he was talking about himself, Donald, Goofy, Riku, Mickey, and Roxas.

Are you saying Namine created Xion? Because that's not what happened at all. In fact, she didn't meet Roxas until Day 3 of KH2. Like I said, there was nothing of Xion to remember, so everyone forgets about her.

Xion was created by Vexen from Sora's memories that Xemnas sampled in their KH1FM battle in Hollow Bastion.

He absorbed her to regain Sora's lost memories that had been leaking out. Once more, there was nothing of Xion to remember, so everyone forgot, and I mean everyone.
