Posted September 20, 201510 yr Like many other features in Final Fantasy XV such as Airships, Japanese audio will only be available as DLC.
September 20, 201510 yr i'm happy we atleast get the option to get the japanese voices, i wasn't a big fan of the english vocies they voice for Noctis didn't really fit him IMO
September 20, 201510 yr What's the pricing like for the voices if any? Supposedly all (potential) DLC for FFXV is free. Not sure if that's absolute truth, though.
September 20, 201510 yr Author Supposedly all (potential) DLC for FFXV is free. Not sure if that's absolute truth, though. From what I've heard it's only the stuff they couldn't fit in the game.
September 20, 201510 yr If it is free then it is all good. Making people pay for different language voices seems like a bit much
September 20, 201510 yr Author If it is free then it is all good. Making people pay for different language voices seems like a bit much It's actually not. Since Square takes the time to redo the lip sync for each language.

Why is it that so many companies have these features in their game for free? IF it was priced, I would be very upset (just my opinion) as it seems like they are taking advantage of people who like Japanese Audio.

Do they redo all the lip syncing and have a gigantic amount of it?
September 20, 201510 yr Do they redo all the lip syncing and have a gigantic amount of it? My point was more along the lines that this sort of stuff isn't something you imagine to be paying. Well, at least I don't think people should be charged. I concede SE put in heaps of effort, but come on really? Charging people to listen to pretty voices? To each their own I guess.

All ofther game companies that make JRPG's don't have you pay for them. They include it as an option in the "options" menu.

To each their own I guess. It's incredibly difficult enough to lip sync in just 1 language but to lip sync in multiple languages must takes a massive amount of time, effort and money to complete. I know id certainly be pissed if me and my teams blood sweat and tears were reduced to free DLC also this game has gone through development Hell if peaple wanna hear it in another language but don't want to pay oh well listen to it in your own language and just enjoy the game as satoru iwata onece said please understand. September 22, 201510 yr Here's my point though. They already HAVE it synced in BOTH languages. If they already made it for both versions, then why should they charge for having the option to swap between them? Look, I just don't like the overall direction of the entire gaming industry in terms of where they are going with DLC. Fighting games making you pay for characters, mobile games making you pay for "lives". This is just another thing that is building towards a future where every game company thinks its okay to make us pay for every little add on. -_- We already pay full price, we should get the FULL package.

Charging for Japanese voice packs is common. It's a giant amount of data. DLC has been around for years. Lol.
September 22, 201510 yr Charging for Japanese voice packs is common. It's a giant amount of data. DLC has been around for years. Lol. Well I'll be. I've never seen anyone charge for voice packs, would you be so kind to give me some examples? I know it has been around for years, but I still don't and never will like it.

September 22, 201510 yr Square Enix. Think a Dragon Ball game had it. Well that's your problem then. I guess it is, but I have right to make a big deal out of it on a KH fansite which will ultimately lead to a waste of time and no advancement in my persona. GG internet.
