The Legend of Zelda: Wrath of the Dark Fairy (Roleplay)

Posted

"Those low-lives think we're meant to be trapped in jars....I'll show them! By ridding this entire land to nothing but fairies! And I will be the Queen! Queen and ruler of all fairies!"

Those were the words of the Dark Fairy, revealing her viscous plot. Peace had been going on in Hyrule until she rose up. And the Dark Fairy has been causing nothing but trouble and havoc in order to get her revenge on all other creatures....Especially Hylians.

Monsters have been appearing more rapidly, lands are being cursed with dark magic....This has gone long enough.

Princess Zelda was facing the window in the throne room with a look of worry. This conflict has to end somehow. Something must be done. There was only one way to stop this madness. She nodded to herself and quickly got pieces of paper, Royal Designed envelopes exclusive to Royalty, and a pen. She wrote down in each of the notes:

"Dear Warrior, I ask you desperately for help. A being known as the Dark Fairy has been causing nothing but destruction and havoc across Hyrule. If this goes on any longer, who knows what will happen....Please, I ask you! Come quickly to the Hyrule Castle where you will find me. The guards will let you through once you show them this letter. Other warriors will be joining you. I hope you will work together and get along well. I'll expect your arrivals.

From, Princess Zelda"

After writing these, she picked up the envelopes,  walked towards the open window, and let the wind blow them away, where they will find the warriors that will go on the journey...

With the glow gone, Nox stepped out of Maxwell's shadow and inspected the new building that had popped up. Well, at least these Zoras had a proper dramatic flair.

"Not bad." The Imp said with a shrug. "Seen better, though."

She glanced around at her companions, her eyes lingering on Malon for a moment. She was going to be trouble.

"Thank you, your highness." Nora bowed deeply. "It has been an honor." And she meant it. They were truly blessed to have such allies, and she looked forward to maybe working alongside them in the future, if she survived this mess. Still, they were on a tight schedule. There was no need to wait around. Straightening up, the knight gave the princess a small smile and then turned, walking across the stone bridge and entering the magnificent building.

"Come on guys, let's go!" Kai said with enthusiasm. He then started marching towards the building with Malon tailing along. Pixi shook her head and put her hands on her hips. "This kid..." She sighed and flew after them. Once everyone was inside, the door closed behind them. "Good luck, warriors..." Princess Aqua said.

~Water Temple~

The inside of the Temple seemed to be very ancient. The rectangular concrete blocks made the walls of the temple. Little water engulfed the warriors' feet. Standing in front of them was a tall multi-colored tower, each one having a numbered door. The one that was in front of them was red and the door number was one.

"Woah...I wonder how tall it is." Malon questioned. Pixi flew around the tower and counted how many floors there were. "6 floors. Plus a really big door that's not part of this tower." She answered.

The strange ranger was rather quiet ever since the group went inside the dungeon.

"It's been a while since I was inside a dungeon."

Rabiyu said that flatly and without any hint of like or dislike in her voice. It was then that she heard Pixi.

"I guess that door is where we have to go then."

"Dungeons." Nox murmurred. "Why is it always dungeons?"

She studied the tower with a resigned air. She had been taught that there was always more then one way to do things, but these blasted dungeons seemed to delight in denying that. Going through the door people expected you to go through was a sure way to get killed.

"Something really terrible is gonna be behind that one." The imp said, gesturing to the door Pixi had pointed out. "The numbered ones are only gonna be kind of terrible."

"Dungeons are important if you are in an adventure."Rabiyu said to Nox. Although she wasn't very thrilled by it."Powerful monsters at the last room too. That or the gods may enjoy messing with their creations."

The Ranger touched her forehead with her left hand and sighed. Using magic after such a long time of being without it was a pain in the rear. Sure, she had a few passive spells active each and every day, but casting more advanced spells all of a sudden made her feel lightheaded.

"We should keep moving," She said calmly. "It is never wise to stay put in places like these."

Kai nodded and snickered with excitement. His first Dungeon. The little Kokori's dream was coming true. This should be fun!...Right?

"Alright! Let's get going!" He said. The green-clothed boy then ran to the red door with the number one on it and opened it, already going in. "Kai! You just never listen, do you?" Pixi said flying after him. Malon simply giggled at her boyfriend's eagerness and skipped along to the door as well. She held the handle and looked back at the others. "Come on you guys. We can't let Kai beat us on our first Dungeon. Hee Hee Hee!" She said before opening the door and closing it.

On the other side of the door, the design was different. Only 4 platforms were above water. The one where the warriors are standing on in front of the door. 2 platforms facing each other from opposite walls with one floor switch on each. And at the end a very tall platform, which is unreachable at moment with a treasure chest sitting on top.

"A chest! Up there! WAAAAY up on that tall pillar!" Malon pointed out. Big Lily pads were scattered across the water, with one placed in between the 2 platforms.

"Hmm..." Pixi flew up high and examined the room, having her hand on her chin. "This should be simple enough." She said to herself. She looked back at the group. "It looks like we have to jump on each lily pad to get to the platforms and jump on both switches."

"Well, why can't we just swim?" Malon suggested before jumping in the water. Her clothes and hair turned blue and she was suddenly able to breathe underwater. This must be the power of the Zora Scale Ms. Princess Aqua gave us. She thought. She tried to swim, but a suddenly strong current kept pushing her back, no matter how hard she tried. Her head rose up above the water and looked up at the others. "We can't swim. A water current keeps pushing me away from even starting to go across." She said.

The Ranger was looking around the room. Sure, it was very normal looking with a simple layout. Rabiyu walked to the edge of the platform and touched the surface of the water with her left hand."Thysaxil boxim nagatei," She said flatly while her hand took a faint blue glow. "Heed my call, Spirits of the North, unleash thy breath upon that that is being touched by mine hand! Friezen!"It took her a few seconds to realize that her spell wasn't working. Not because she was unable to cast a spell, but because something was preventing her magic to take the desired effect."I see." Rabiyu said. "We can't use the easy way."If would remain a mystery if she completely ignored the fact that Malon was on the water before she tried to freeze the whole pool or if she casted it fully aware that the young girl was going to be trapped on the ice if she couldn't get out in time. Taking another look around she finally heard Pixi."Switches. I suppose I can press one." She then turned to look at Malon. "It was foolish to jump into the water without knowing if there were monsters in there. You could be severely injured by now if there was something in the water."Her tone was neutral, not angry nor disappointed, just neutral. Kids these days were reckless, far more than in ages past. With the lack of outside interaction Rabiyu feared what parents were teaching their childrens these days. Without another word the Ranger jumped into the lily pads scattered across the water to make her way into one of the switches.

Nora fought back a sigh as Kai and Malon walked straight through the door in front of them without so much as looking for traps. Following them after a quick scan of the room, she nodded as Rabiyu headed to the first switch. "I can get the other." The knight crouched slightly to keep her balance as she jumped on the lily pads, quickly examining the switch as she reached it. It didn't look like a trap, but then again, traps seldom did. Deciding to trust Malon's judgement, Nora stepped on top of the switch and waited for something to happen.

Once the buttons were pressed on, the "Discovery" jingle was heard.

"Uh...What was that?" Kai asked.

"It's just a sound that pops up every time we discover something. And I thought that was only in the Video Games." Pixi said (Breaking the 4th Wall)

The pillar lowered down, down to where it's height was reachable with only a jump away. "Alright! Treasure here we come!" With that said, Kai jumped on the first lily pad, then the second one, then the third. So far, this was easy...Until a Octorok popped up out of the water. Kai looked at it, then gave an annoyed groan. "Oh come on! Really? These stupid squids are getting on my nerves!" He said. The Octorok was about to shoot a rock at Kai, but it was then critically shot by an arrow, ending it's life quickly. Maron lowered her bow and sighed before jumping on the lily pad. "Well, the Zoras did say that the Octoroks made their way into the Temple. So we should expect a lot of them." She said. "Like that group over there." She pointed at the 6 Octoroks guarding the platform with the chest by water.

".....I hate this temple." Kai commented.

  • 1 month later...

The knight shifted on top of the switch, sword in front of her. She wished there was something she could do, but she really didn't have a ranged attack. She would have to work on that, it wasn't the first time that that deficiency had been a problem. Still, Nora didn't know what would happen if she stepped off the switch in a dungeon like this. At best, the platform would recede temporarily, but not finishing the puzzle first could make the place collapse.
