It is a pretty safe bet that something Crash related is on the way, as wearing a shirt like that is just too cruel to wear when they know that there are rumors about Crash flying left and right.

i like to imagine that they legitimately thought the FF7 PC port was a great reveal but the backlash caused them to start working on an actual remake in order to save face.

It isn't the case. They actually begun work on it shortly after Lightning Returns.
