Funnily enough, I was about to play Shovel Knight when I saw this earlier...

I think another thing that Shovel Knight did really well was that it nailed the retro gaming feel. A lot of indie games claim that they're just like retro games, but Shovel Knight is the only one I can think of that actually meets that claim. A lot of others get some aspects right, but they fail to include the things that made old-school platformers so fun. A lot of them think that being overly difficult means retro, but it doesn't. Shovel Knight uses the limitations of an old system and makes a fantastic game with it, including incredible level design and a game that eases you into it before you get on to the more difficult segments. There have been times that I've tried to open the Virtual Console menu while playing the game because it actually does look and  feel like a SNES game, and that's meant in the best possible way. It's definitely become my favorite platformer of all time, and this is with competition such as Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Crash Bandicoot 3, and Kirby Super Star Ultra (All other fantastic platformers that I love). I love Yacht Club Games for bringing us such an incredible experience, and I'm excited to try out the amiibo challenges and co-op once my Shovel Knight amiibo arrives on Monday.

I don't like it as much as others seem to like it,but Shovel Knight is great, its like playing classic Mega Man with a Shovel instead of a Mega Buster.
