From my school's handbook:

The cafe is meant to be a place where you may relax and enjoy a meal with your friends. Good friends, good food, and good manners can make this break a very pleasant time in the school day.

Whoever wrote this obviously hasn't been in a school cafeteria before, or at least not my school's.

I've only seen one food war, but they seriously have NEVER been in a school cafeteria before

LOL good god thats soo not true for my old school it was first come first serve with the food and the seats

My cafeteria isn't really a mad house, but the students never heard of cleaning up after themselves or eating like a human.

 

Sometimes I'll be eating near the end of the day and it's impossible to find a clean table. Almost all of them are revolting. There is either a spilled drink under the table or a civilization of crumbs and chewed food on top.

lol our caff rocks! We sit on the tabbles throw stuff at each other play pool and air hockey! Oh yeah and all the guys fight over the couch cause it's big and soft lol

My cafeteria is completely lame. The food sucks majorly (except for the nachos), it's overpriced, and there are like, two tables.

 

My handbook has "STUDENTS ARE NOT TO GO INTO ANY PARKING LOT DURING THE SCHOOL DAY." in big menacing bold text

 

Funny thing is, there are a few classrooms that you NEED to go there to get to..

So I can go tape up dozens of pictures of Carlton Banks around the school, and be able to do it without getting in trouble since it does not have to do with a school activity thing? sweet

This is an absolute lie. Maximum student input is given, so they claim. More bullshit.

Oh, and get this. Now they have banned self-defense, meaning you get the same punishment as the offender, so if someone just came and punched you in the face, they expect you to just go and walk to one of the staff and report it. Idiots. It's a natural instinct to defend yourself.

 

They also are refusing to have one of the THREE cops on campus come in and search people if someone gets something stolen from them during class. Right. Take no action towards a CRIME occurring on your property.

in canada, we eat at out desks, no throwing food there, or we have to clean it!

This has been a rule in my district forever. It really pisses me off. They expect us to play nice when people talk trash or try to hurt you. I wish they realized in the real world, if you can't fight back your screwed because there's no one to go and run to for help. There is the police but they take forever to arrive and if you can't fight back, by the time the police arrive your on the ground bleeding with 10 broken bones. Way to raise your kids.

Exactly. If they seriously think that someone will just go and tell a staff member after getting punched in the face instead of using A NATURAL HUMAN INSTINCT and fighting back is a moron.

 

For god's sake, if someone put a gun to someone's head, then the person fought back and stopped the gunman, THEY'D PROBABLY STILL BE SUSPENDED.

This is new, too. Self-defense was fine the years before.
